Pokemon

So how do we actually feel about z-moves btw? Do we think they're just gimmicky nothings added to the game that are overall useless in the end or another little addition that does make things kinda more varied? I'm leaning in the middle

I'll give an example: Porygon-Z's being really talked about lately because one of it's status moves Conversion, which changes one's type to the same type as the move at the top of it's moves, also gives it a +1 boost to every stat if it's used as a Z move (besides accuracy/evasion). Many people think it's a legit threat now, what do you think of it?

Someone beat the whole game with a single Magikarp thanks to Z-move Splash so

it is a welcome addition because of that

Not something you can slap on just anything, but there will definitely be some sets that make good use of them. Porygon-Z is legit.

And Batton Pass exist. You can batton pass a Purify Z-move with Pyukumukku to some powerhouse and see a true evil :P

And a Z-Happy Hour in the gift Snorlax can be good too

Or a true evil Z-geomancy with Smeargle, followed for a Batton Pass... if the Z-move cuts the Geomancy charge before works... if not you need survive with the Smeargle for a 3 rounds to do it.

Tsareena with Z-Splash can be a problem too :P

I think Missingno pretty much sums it up. Z-Moves will seem gimmicky for the first long while till we get cases like Porygon-Z that can use a certain Z-Move Status combo that upgrades their potential as a Pokemon in their own Smogon Tier. Personally I don't see Gen 7 as a Big Competitive Gen as I see it more as the 'Convenient Gen Upgrade' There are more so convenient improvements then anything else I noticed. There isn't that much super amazing in Gen 7 mons in terms of competitiveness verses the rest of the Gens. They maybe added like....less then 8 or so competitive items in the Terrain Seeds that Up a Defensive Stat in Terrain only usable once, Protective Pads to prevent on Contact procs, Terrain Extender (Still want my Ability for Trick Setting and item to extend it...).

Personally I don't see the Z-Moves being used for Coverage or Random Nuke drops in the general competitive. Mostly used for the Z-Status gimmicks. Though in Story mode its pretty easy to just go through and slap Z-Stones on your party and breeze on through.

One thing I find weird it the turn order of Form switch or abilities. For example when Wimpod it hit to below half hp it switches immediately. Where as with Minior and Wishiwashi their abilities take effect at the end of the turn. Id prefer if Emegency Exit happened after and Shields Down happened as soon as possible :P

Just wanna point out that Happy Hour Greninja exists.

I find Jirachii and Magicarp (Gyarados) with happy hour too :P is a lot of people :P

how has no one made a Power Ranger kinda thing with all the Trail Captains and Kahunas and/or your Main Character doing dam Z-Poses.

Because not even Kyoryuger had that many members. Hell, the only one that could top that many characters is actually a Kamen Rider show.

also, I dare anybody to tell me Lillie isn't top tier after seeing these sick moves.

So apparently data miners found running animations for every Pokémon in Sun Moon, ala Pokémon that travel behind you like in Gen 2

Specifically, walking and running animations, for all 802 pokemon and their shiny variants.

except Komala

Komala waddles and rolls. Bless him.

stupid question dose anyone know how to get the original color for magearna?

sorry for the dumb question

Forgot to add, Until you beat the main game, you can not get this Event Legendary. So no getting the fairy golem early and steamrolling through the game.

Yeah there was no way the hardware could've handled following Pokemon. It already can't handle the game as it is!

Imagen a Switch Port that included it. On a machine that Could handle it. Or a possible feature in Pokemon Stars.

I've heard the rumors of a Switch port and I don't believe it for a minute. Game Freak is always extremely late to get on board next-gen hardware, they practically have to be dragged kicking and screaming. Remember that BW2 came out more than a year after the 3DS was already out. If that didn't get ported, I see no reason to expect a hypothetical Star to be any different.

Whenever they finally do release a Switch game, it'll be a brand new engine for gen 8.

BW2 was still in the middle of a gen and would have impacted sales if it was 3DS Only, as many people didn't own a 3DS at the time of release. (Not much incentive to.) However, with the possible Stars, it''d probably be possible to import pokemon from the 3DS game o the Switch one. After all, the console and portablle handheld department of Nintendo have already merged, its not too hard to imagine SM and "Stars" being worked on simultaneously.

Also, While BW2 did come out when the 3DS was available, it should be noted that the DS and 3DS were both handheld systems. Stars is supposed to be on the switch, a weird sort of hybrid, so it wouldnt have the same effect as the DS > 3DS transition does.

We're still in the middle of gen 7 now, and nobody owns a Switch yet, we don't know how successful it'll be or what kind of impact on sales a move would have. As for Nintendo merging their hardware R&D divisions, that has absolutely nothing to do with Game Freak's software development.

The fact that we have no idea what the Switch transition will be like is all the more reason why Game Freak will once again wait a while before they do anything with it. They just don't do early adoption ever.

So I've done just about everything this game as to offer sans Battle Tree and Pokefinder.
If anyone can get me a Litten I could finish it, got a Popplio in it for 'em

I like this gen, but for every step forward there are steps back. The story was top notch IMO and the UB's where a great addition they felt alien in a game with alien esq animals being the norm and the whole 'upside down' dimension stuff was awesome. The characters where great with the slight exception of Hau, sort of. Like, I like Hau I and get what they were doing with his character, but I couldn't really get into his character that much.

I like the pokemon in this gen and though there could of been a bit more I'd rather have quality over quantity. The changes to the Hall of Fame suck, reset bags don't exist sucks, chaining pokemon kinda sucks, and hatching 30 pokemon just for the guy to tell you your IV's is nothing but an inconvenience as I want to know if the IV of pokemon are even attempting to pass down. Poke-chaining is alright for the fact that you can get Hidden abilities from it and you can easily grind the same pokemon for boosted EV's, but Hidden Ability pokemon appear so infrequent and you need a pokemon with a ability swap/change move to identify them sucks. Also getting pokemon through exclusive SOS battles stinks as you have to first find the pokemon in question whom probably only as a 10% chance of spawing in the first place, then endure the onslaught of SOS pokemon until the pokemon you want appears with out killing all of the SOS pokemon and not running out PP.

The grinding is loathsome, as to Hyper train they need to be 100 (in which there aren't very good spots for easy 100 as end game pokemon are 60ish and the Elite 4 refights are also 63 making harder to train pokemon a bitch to level) but not only that you need an obtuse exceedingly rare currency of bottlecaps to upgrade 1 stat. Poke Pelago is 70% useless as the the work out island and spa island are negated by the 'stat decreasing happiness increasing berries' and chain battling and the mine is kinda useful but 90% your just going to use it to get shard and the 10%(if that) to get the rarer Evolution stones that could of just as easily been in Olivia's Shop with the other stones.

Don't think we really need spoiler tags at this point unless it involves story points but here is my response to your review

On the story bit I agree 9/10 on the story being a more cinematic style of Pokemon in this gen.

I agree with the number of Pokemon where I wish I got more 7 Gen Pokemon and to be honest I'd rather of not had Alolan 1st Gens if it meant more New Pokemon for Gen 7 even though there are some cool Alolans like Marowak. In the mechanics I feel this was a step back when compared to X/Y where the Super Training, Hordes, and Dexnav were SOOO useful that I wish it would have been included in Sun/Moon in post game. Instead for EV training we get a Island that yields 4 EV of a desired Stat per 30 minutes, where if you want to get a Pokemon or up to 6 Pokemon up to 252 EV's you need to put them in for 63 Training sessions for about 2 days roughly (Can be cut in half via beans). As for hatching 20 eggs to get the IV checker to give you a tool in your PC to check your own IV's in your PC I think thats amazing so you can go to the Nursery, get 5 eggs, Spin in that area below the Egg giver, Hatch 5 and check 5 easy in the PC. By "attempting to pass down" do you mean that you didn't know that Hyper Trained Stats don't get passed down? Cause how Hyper Training works is it doesn't change the IV to a 31. It treats its initial IV as a base Plus the Hyper Trained amount (Say Pikachu has 15IV in Atk, After Hyper Training it is treated as 15+16 instead of 31. This is how it lets it keep its Hidden Power Typing even though sadly it means it doesn't pass down a 'Maxed' IV). I agree with the rest of the SOS nonsense. EV Training with SOS's makes it easy if you got the Power Items + Pokerus needing only to kill 7 Mons (Assuming the Mon your killing gives 1EV for x Stat) or 14 without Pokerus.

Grinding to level 100 is a pain, I am still grinding off the E4 and my Highest is only 91 at the moment with the rest of the team being in the mid 80's. It boogles my mind as to why Pokemon wouldn't add a easy grind location to 100 for a mechanic SPECIFICALLY FOR level 100 Pokemon. Next Gen I'd love a option to tell E4 Members to "Go Train" and when you rematch them again in the E4 they have Stronger Pokemon and you can't tell them to train more until you beat them. As for Bottle caps there is a trick to get bottle caps in the Festival Plaza where you constantly replace a 1Star place for a 2Star Lottery and then talk to it and the first time you always get a Silver Bottle Cap (There was a Verlisify Vid about it as much as I'd rather not promote his channel), Then there are the Bubbling Fishing spots that have a chance at a Bottle Cap Drop, The Treasure Dive in the PokePeligo has also another chance but its seems pretty rare as I still have not got one from it and I think Pick Up mons have a chance at grabbing one as well. I disagree with the Pokepeligo being useless as its a very good way for grinding berries and maxing out EV's, Happiness, or Levels casually which makes it easier once you put in berries and all the islands are upgraded. Personally I find the Festival Plaza more useless in its early stage as you need to grind out Plaza Coins for the place to Rank up so you eventually get to the amazing shops that help with EV Training even more with purchasable Max Stat Gain stuff and Level Up stuff in the Rare Kitchens that in the highest level can level a lv 89 or lower Mon by 9 levels (You can also buy multiple of them per day) which helps alot with the grindyness BUT you still need to get there first and get the right and highest level shops :P and the best way to grind Plaza Coins being connected Online at Peak Times to chain off Type Matching Missions that people host for 10-50 Coins per mission (You get more coins the more stars in total are earned).

While the absence of Reset Bag stings, workout island is actually great as I don't have to do anything besides collect beans, which I do anyways since I feel the need to collect all of them. There are online IV checkers more accurate than the in-game ones of previous generations until you unlock the in-game one. Hyper Training only being level 100 is terrible with the E4 not even being lvl 80 on rematches, but you can do things the old-fashioned way unless you want a Hidden Power.

I thought some people would appreciate watching kids beat each other up.

This looks so much better than Pokken.

That's not too hard.

Pokemon Prism got a DMCA takedown which is a bit of a shame for a game being developed for so long. You can still get it if you look for it or ask a person who has it.

I've been following Koolboyman's work since the original version of Brown caught my eye as the only complete gen 1 hack. The 2009 update blew me away with a feat many people said was impossible, squeezing new Pokemon into Red's engine. And then came the 2010 Prism demo just doing a whole ton of awesome things with Gold. So yeah, I've been waiting a damn long time for this hack.

Thank god Prism leaked, because I would've been so heartbroken if this was lost forever. Playing it now, and I really think it's better than anything Game Freak has ever made. Loving the Link's Awakening-esque side-scroller segments.

Welp, time to walk outside again.

This topic are a little dead without anything new to discuss :P

Lets wait for another news...

(By the way... why put a lot of megastones out of the game to give by distribution after? Is not better put all in the BP shop and give by distribution to anyone lazy to get all then?)

Game Freak just loves withholding things. My guess is that they'll be temporarily event-only, then later available in whatever the next gen 7 game is.

My first shiny I ever caught was a Banette blease Nintendo give him back don't make him go to the gym for nothing

My first shiny I ever caught was a Banette blease Nintendo give him back don't make him go to the gym for nothing

What???

What???
Since I caught it it barely had any good stats so I hypertrained it this generation hence "went to the gym" I guess. Also I meant since Megas got buffed this generation with speed tiers being correctly adjusted for the first turn instead of the second. So since Mega Banette's ability is prankster finally they can actually use it and it just makes it a much more useful pokemon u know?

On the bright side I found out today they just released beedrillite and mawlite to people who participated in the online event and those who didn't get those items from a code when april rolls around. ...Begging the question why didn't they just give them to us in the first place but whatever I guess...
