Super Important Yet Dubiously Possible Vita Suggestion:

I'm a vita owner and love the thing. It picked up a lot of my gaming slack when my ps3 went on the fritz. My point being that I've logged a TON of vita hours and have a well-founded opinion on its weaknesses from a comfort standpoint. The Vita and 'fighting games' is REALLY rough for people with big hands. If possible, can you support blutooth pairing a PS4 pad?

I've tried BlazBlue, UMVC3, Alpha 3, and Dissidia on the Vita and as someone with pretty big hands/long fingers, the only one of them that's comfortably playable is Dissidia. Why? Because you really only need 2 fingers at a time ever: one for the control stick & one thumb to smash a single button at a time. It lacks complex button combinations, and complex directional inputs for commands. Hand size doesn't come into the equation with most other games I've played on the vita, because my fingers really only have to cycle between a few different configurations. With a deep fighter like SG, playing with just my thumbs is really high on the difficulty scale, and borderline not possible.

Though it's necessary for me with fighters, playing claw-style on the vita is a no-go for a few reasons:
  • There's not always a way to brace the right side of the system against anything (as I'd do with my lap and a console pad). The left side is gripped firmly, but the right side needs to be tapped arcade-stick style. Can't do that while holding a vita in front of your face.
  • The buttons are particularly small and so my fingers knock each other out of the way while trying to claw-style them. However, it's necessary, as with the small buttons, tagging and calling assists with the edge of my thumbs will be a very sloppy affair
  • The left analog stick on the Vita often gets in the way of DPad inputs. While the game may allow me to disable the analog stick and thus lessen the chance for input errors, its positioning still can be problematic.

The vita can pair bluetooth devices. If there's any possible way you can work your LabZero magic and get a PS4 pad working as an input device for Vita, you'll make me enormously happy. I plan on getting the game for vita anyway (because of crossbuy and an inevitable PS4 purchase), but I'd love to be able to comfortably spend more time on the vita version, as that's the system I spend a lot of time on anyway.

Thanks for listening dude,
-GK

To be honest I just want to know what's next for Skullgirls.

I like the idea of an announcer setting where it would pick a random one each match.

I'd like a "block crossups" option on training mode.

Some pointless but fun things:

-Make Filia's taunt play the cMP sparkle sound everytime she airdashes (until she's hit).
-Make Fukua's taunt shift her hue by +180 (a la Rainbow Double). Twice the colors!
-When Big Band flies to space on an indoor stage, have a glass shattering sound effect.
- Robo's cMP fries Peacock's cMK ant.

Tutorial stuff (more serious):

-Tweak the text placement/size on the tutorials. Or make the text appear on the pause screen. It's very easy for it to be obscured. Hide the combo meter maybe?
-Tutorial on special moves should force players to use Updo while also explaining the DP motion. Very common stumbling point.
-DHC tutorial could mention the merits of cancelling to avoid a punish (Gregor to Bikes for instance).
-The first tutorial on normals could allow more repetition. You tell the player they have 6 buttons to press, but let them proceed after they press 1...
-TBH, all the character tutorials pre-Squigly need more repetition. Whenever a move has one version, force its use twice. When it has an air and ground version, force both.
-Peacock tutorial doesn't mention teleport + punch to fakeout.
-Quite frankly, Ms Fortune tutorial is really bad. It's "here's some words, now do 6 headless moves".
-Valentine tutorial is wrong about syringe trajectories always being the same (as of her recent buffs). Should also mention the vial loading on level 3.
-Squigly tutorial should mention that HP Draugen Punch skips the stance.
-Fukua and Beowulf tutorials should explain 360 motion in the same way as Cerebella's, just in case you're not doing them in order.

First off I'm new at the game so if it's already in my apologies, but a way to switch order of team without going back to character select would be nice.
They should do it like tekken tag 2. Before the match starts if you hold the tag button the character maped to that tag starts the match instead of the order you originally chose. I think all that is preloaded during the loading screen though so it may not be possible without going to the loading screen again.

Well, i think tutorials focusing not only in specials, but explaining what you should be doing with that character. And some mechanics that weren't explained in a tutorial before, like i've done all tutorials and none of them explained to me that using snap back on a enemy when i play solo makes me recover my red health (and i don't know if that is on the game yet, i've seen in a stream a few days ago, maybe i missed this part on the training)

I don't know if this is the place, as it seems to be more about gameplay suggestions, but, i wish they make some declaration, or a text even, just telling the real canon story of the game, because for what i've seen, canon story mode will not happen.

find a place to use this track please please please

As awesome as this song would be for like, Saxsploitation Big Band's theme, keep in mind that Lab Zero have to pay the musicians when their work is used. Disco Ballz may not be cleared for use by Lab Zero, and they may not want to spend the money just to find a place to use it.

Surprise! You've been able to do this forever, just not online. It's either hold down tag or assist; I don't remember which.

Well, i think tutorials focusing not only in specials, but explaining what you should be doing with that character.
Off the top of my head, these are char-specific things that would help new players understand the characters better:
-Filia IAD jLK/jHP > jHK
-Parasoul sHPx2 > LP Napalm Shot
-Big Band cHP > HP Brass Knuckles
-Peacock sHP > stuff, that her backdash is way better than forward
-Painwheel flight cancel used in blockstrings
-Double crossunders (maybe a stretch)

...
-Jumping to dodge throws isn't mentioned.
-Nor air throws? Unless they're hidden somewhere.

could we get an arcade build with coin inputs for DIY fans like myself? I want to make a cabinet.

otherwise it's just going to end up being a generic mame cab i dont want that shit man i want skullgirls

okay actual suggestion instead of a bug. give painwheels taunt hyper armor. have ridiculous recovery or something to make it punishable but give her the armor for the troll factor.

Don't nerf fortune's c.lk please.

Also being able to turn on/off stages in random select is a no-go right? I know it was talked about a few months ago.
Eh? Nerf to her c lk? Who said this?

A while ago it was mentioned that Stunt Double could maybe eventually get added into the Tutorial somewhere, but I'm guessing that's still pretty low priority compared to balance and whatnot.

Get double snapped. Mash on coin insert out of pure annoyance.

I have yet to hit an ES CR and not have like 20 screams go off

While I absolutely agree this is a solution I'm kind of staggered people can't just Google anything related to Skullgirls and end up here, it's not hard.
To be fair, I tried this myself and was kinda surprised.

The Skullheart link is only the third one which is actually a thread linking to a steam community guide. All of the other ones look a lot more official? I guess.
You would get here eventually, but for the very lazy, they might see the steam community and reddit as more familiar and appealing.
Also the second link, straight from the Skullgirls website doesn't actually seem to have anything, despite claiming to have character guides for everyone for... each platform?
How was this page supposed to work exactly? I suppose you could change it to link to the character sections or something?

I also tried googling just "Skullgirls" and the steam community page is on the front page while the forums are not (granted, skullgirls.com is the first result but not the forums themselves).
"Skullgirls character guides" put the forum even lower on the list of mostly the same stuff from the first image.
"Skullgirls community" puts the steam community at the top of the page followed by shoryuken and reddit. Also this page shows up as well, which I'm not really sure how you navigate to that page, since community takes you right to the forum now. But underneath reddit and the like at the veeeeeery bottom of page 1:

We actually get the front page of Skullheart for the first time.

So, yeah. I think it makes a ton of sense why people don't know where to go.

-When Big Band flies to space on an indoor stage, have a glass shattering sound effect.

I'm surprised they didn't do this yet or have him fall back down on his ass. Maybe he flies right out the door like a true gentlemen, killing anyone on the other side and breaking the door.

Nothing crucial, but it would be nice if you could control which of Fukua's victory animations played after she won. Like :P: for lying down and :K: for running away.

Wait, are you sure that you can't already? I know Filia has that feature. Not sure about Peacock, though.

Can one of the Samus effects on Robo-Fortune be swapped? Gravity Suit has Speed Boost and Plasma Beam so all her moves are green, where as most other palettes, if not all, have 2 effect colors. Varia has Ice Beam and Shine Spark, either of which could swap over.

Yes Gravity has Hyper Beam on Det mode, that's not what I'm talking about though.

Just hoping one of the challenges involves fighting vs Wheelwheel.

Text-based lobby chat.

I'm used to it from the lobbies of games like Left4Dead. It helps players collaborate and arrange how the next match will be, let people arrange things like training sessions and tournaments without resorting to twitch chat and Skype.

Can you make peacocks tag-out animation (the thing that she does with her cane) also her win animation?

Might be good for anonymous lobby rooms. I mostly use a steam group chat when playing with friends.

I can do Big Bands just fine its just Cerebella and (mostly) Parasouls I cant figure out, and Big Bands is mostly because he has loud footsteps I can use as an audio cue. They could still be an option in training mode and tutorials such as having one of the ! pop up over a charge character when ready. Thanks for the answer though.

No need for an indicator, you can easily count it out. I used to have trouble to when I was younger, but believe me, you'll get used to the timing quickly. Just go into training, hold down back, count to roughly 3 seconds then forward and punch. After you get the timing down, you should learn how to hide your charges in your movement, normals, and strings.

Hmm...

*Pair Play, Tekken Tag Style: Being able to hook up with a friend rather than pummeling them with overly buff hats. If possible, this could open up a whole new chapter in SG tourneys and mulitplayer. 2vs.2s, 3vs.3s, 3vs.2s or even 2 or 3vs.1s get more exciting when its a group effort.

*Music Changer: Another gift from the era of Tekken Tag 2 was to put any music on any stage. This way you can not only have a sound test section for people to fiddle with, getting access to all those story mode songs, but you can also listen to your favorite SG tunes whenever! (Final Boss theme on every stage? :^)

*Updated Rankings system: Its kind of hard to tell where I am in the ranks of SG when I cant even tell how many times I've won or lost :I. A Character Usage section with win Loss records a la smash would also be a great way of gauging whos your best and worst characters and how to fix up on it. But I'd ALSO include which characters you lost to, to see if there is a character you seem to be having trouble with.

I would love that, just grab my Vita and PS4 controller before I leave my house, 100% portable and comfortable Skullgirls setup.

I honestly don't know if it's possible, though. The Vita does not have a "driver," so to speak, for controllers. Just bluetooth headphones/speakers.
I'm pretty sure if L0 wanted to implement that, they'd have to pretty much make their own driver for it, but even then, I don't think the Vita gives developers access to Bluetooth on a system level. They would have to find a way to force the controller to connect and then decode the inputs.
Which would be quite a bit of work, I'd imagine.
This is all speculation though.

Can I leave a lobby while spectating a match? I tried this earlier today only to realize my only options were sit through the whole game or close the game entirely.

If I'm wrong and there's already a way please do tell.
