pc netcode was crisp? cuz i sure do...how tf am i getting such input delay when my ggpo is set to 0 to the point where s.hp is coming out instead of j.hp and its a ongoing thing I literally have to change the way I've been playing online for years. my input device works flawlessly in other games and I've gone as far as reinstalling my OS to remedy the situation to no avail, getting frustrated to the point where I don't want to continue playing.

and yes I understand what rollback is.

Scenario:
You jump backwards and press jHP on frame 0, and you're playing with 3 frames of lag. (As in the distance to you and the opponent is about 50 ms, which is 3F, but you play on 0 input delay for GGPO setting).

You start to jump and do jHP, but then 3 frames later your opponents input comes out and it was any standing button so lets say it was a whiffed sLP close to you.
Now your input which was Upback + jHP is rolled back to standing jHP because you can't jump away in pre-block from a normal.

That's the only answer I have to why jumping normals don't come out even when it was 100% good to go on your side at the time of the press.

However, if you're noticing other issues that aren't that, those are just your input errors.

No change the netcode has been made since around steam release.
Some new players popping online for Skullgirls that maybe don't know you shouldn't be playing on wi-fi, or maybe they just have bad internet.
Maybe some other change has happened in your neighborhood from your ISP that's causing bad connections?

Another thing you can try doing is playing in Fullscreen mode if you don't already.

I played you recently and our ping wasn't so bad, yet the connection was pretty terrible compared to most of my other matches.

Try opening up cmd.exe and typing this line:
ping eat.valve.net -t
This will ping valve's seattle server infinitely and give you ping readings (ms). Just leave that open on a second monitor or something if you have one, and see if that number jitters a bunch.
If it does, the connection issues might be you instead of them.

wait... you're setting your GGPO to 0 under what pings? cause I usually keep it on 1 for green connections and 2 on pretty much everything else above that. Also I believe going as far to to reinstall you OS is a little much and it won't fix the problem in this case.

like Liam said there has been no NetCode changes so I just think that most of your frustration is coming from input errors from yourself.

If you really think that there is something wrong I suggest PM-ing Mike Z about it. I'm sure he will be able to step thru step figure out if there is something actually wrong with the game's netcode.

Double post because I can't attach an image in an edit, but here's mine.
As you can see I have only 1ms of jitter so my connection is really solid.

See how yours looks while you're playing?

Changing your GGPO setting from 0 is a bad idea.
If you do decide on playing on 1 or 2, then changing it from that number at any point is even more bad, because now your timing is variable.

Idk i feel like its either A im losing it or B something is up, I've spoken with a frequent pc quickmatch player and hes been having similar repeating drops out of no where, honestly I've played nothing but skullgirls online quickmatch since I got the game sometime in 2014 and I've played with pretty much all the ggpo settings and haven't had any issues up until the last few weeks it is becoming bothersome. I used to have terrible internet like 5 up and really shitty down and played fine up until now and ontop of that several months ago I was able to get much better service in my area. going to try your suggestion and will get back to the thread with my results.

Up and down don't matter for Skullgirls at all just FYI.
The ONLY thing that matters is jitter and ms.

(Also not playing on Wi-Fi, because the packets come in in a random order and they have to wait for the correct order or re-arrange them which causes tons of issues for rollback netcode.)

sorry I double posted earlier in a diferent thread and I had you delete it Liam and left out some crucial info on this post.. when I first started sg in 2014 i always played on atleast 1-3 ggpo just recently after the issues came up I tried play on 0 even opponents ping me under 100 the issue is still there.

You're always going to see rollbacks in 100 ms connections.
One frame is ~16.66666ms, and in 100ms there are about 6 six frames.
If you take something like Fukua's command grab which is 8F startup, and remove 6 frames of start up from it that makes it visually a 2F command grab.
Then you remove 3.5 frames for input delay, and then human reaction time at a minimum of something like 12.5 frames for one response stimuli.... You're in for a bad time as far as reacting to overheads go like Filia's 17F IAD jLK..

So don't expect good things to come from 100ms is what I'm getting at I guess.

That seems pretty good, so chances are it's the people you are playing with.

You could also be getting more sensitive to rollbacks the better you become at the game.
Rollbacks aren't super bothersome when you don't know what's going on anyway but once you start to master the game, they become really frustrating.

If you have an issue with someone, ask them to do the same thing and see if their jitter is good or bad.

well I went about a month and a half between moving having no internet and just getting occasional practice in offline vs bots here and there I don't know its just really peculiar when i'm dropping constantly the most simple things like the example I gave earlier that was just one I messing up on launchers quarter circle inputs you name it comes randomilly but it is ongoing.

I mean I do live on the coast literally could walk to the ocean and be there in 5-10 minutes but I used to play this game on bloody dsl 5 down not up like i said earlier and really terrible down now i have atleast 7x the speeds on my down and quadriple what I had for up I used to enjoy playing online then then I have been as of late. I'm hoping someone can shed some light or maybe others have this issue and we can try to figure it out or I could just be completely losing it lol

If you changed your ISP when you 'upgraded' your internet it could be that instead.
