Peacock Filia Cerebella
So after EVO14, I was super motivated to improve after I was one win away from making top 16. I consider myself pretty adept at the game, but I honestly can't seem to improve past the point I'm currently at.

My typical team is Peacock(HP)/ Filia(HP Updo)/ Cerebella(HP LnL/Copter)

I think it has pretty great synergy and balance, however I feel like I don't have much in terms of making people respect me while they attack. I mean, I obviously have reversals, but don't have safe DHC options (other than going into bella lvl 3) to make the opponent fear me throwing them out more often since it is a big risk to me. Obviously I don't need this, but its nice to have when it comes to limiting my opponent's pressure.

I feel like I'm pretty good at carrying out my game plan, but my opponent limiting that is ultimately my downfall.

Other characters I'm interested in using are Ms.Fortune, Eliza and Double.

I also got a new PC! It's pretty good! Runs the game fine with 3D backgrounds while streaming with no game lag or frame drops. I'd love if some of the better players in the community would be willing to play me while I stream (or just record) so I can look back on the matches. I'm totally fine with playing anyone if they ask though. I'm also still totally willing to play on PS3 with people, I just don't have a capture card of any sort at the moment so I wouldn't be able to stream/record those.

Stuff I'm working on right now:
- I've got combos down with Eliza, but severely lack in the reset/burst bait department. If anyone knows some good ones that are mostly universe, hit me up!
- Maybe work on a back-up team. I'm not really sure what I'm looking for in this but maybe a duo team. I'm pretty good at optimizing damage so maybe the extra damage/health from a duo would lend well to my playstyle.
- Trying to figure out what to actually work on.

The best way to improve is just playing people who you know are better than you, your mistakes become more evident and it forces you to try your best at all times.

If you can handle the salt, being outplayed is the best thing.

I really do need to play more good players. I don't really get salty unless I drop a combo or something that would have won me a match heh.

I'm hoping those players will offer to play me on here.

So I've been experimenting with Peacock/Filia/Eliza and Peacock/Eliza

Nothing necessarily feels wrong with it, but I feel I would still benefit more from having some form of safe dhc option, so I'm going to look into maybe trying something with Fukua or Double.

On an unrelated note, I've been doing some lab work and I found these.
A few of these probably aren't optimized but yeah. These let you do left/right okizeme on hard knockdown even in the corner. In the video, I'm holding right the entire time and I'm crossed up each time. Fukua's seems especially good because you don't even have to commit to an attack and let the fireball do the left/right for you. These are especially dumb with a low hitting assist.

Also, if anyone sees me playing beta, please don't hesitate to ask to play.

Been grinding in the beta lab for a bit. Found a few silly resets and junk but I forget about them all the time while playing against someone. Pretty good at remembering combos though. If anyone wants to check out what I've been working on, a made a few short combo videos.

Evo is over, time to reflect!

- Messing up a george input always ends up getting me screwed over. Need to identify when and why I mess them up.
- Need to practice combos vs robo-fortune. Didn't cost me in the end but I dropped a ton of Filia combos on robo in my pool matches.
- Play more patient vs Fukua until I land a hit. Felt like my matches with SIG would have gone better if I didn't get hit by so many MK clones and j.LP.
- I need to stay less free to grabs. Felt like I did pretty good at blocking MikeZ's mixups up until he started grabbing.
- Maybe don't try the same reset over and over expecting the opponent to think I'll change it up. Went for a low reset a number of times vs MikeZ thinking he would expect me to change it up. Never paid off to say the least lol.

and the biggest one:
- Learning to play under pressure. I had never played on a stage like that with so many eyes watching me, much less actually chanting for me. My hands were actually shaking to the point where I felt like I was messing up commands like PBGC reversals. Don't know when I'll get another shot at something like that though.

Hey I haven't posted here in a while.

Played some games with Mike Z last night, got some pretty good advice and some things I noticed.

1. Stop dropping combos. Holy **** I'm pretty sure I lost a few games just from dropping my combo at an important moment.
2. Spend meter to kill off a character. I tend to try to reset a character to death and save my meter for the last guy so I can take him out without needing multiple resets... but then I just go and do resets anyway and forget I have so much meter. I'll even do a reset when I could have probably finished off the character right then and there. Just need to be more aware of how much meter I have to spend.
3. Need to learn to work around BB's assists better. Beat Extend and Brass are probably the two assists in the game that give me the most trouble. Not only do they make it risky for me to be pressing too many buttons, but BigBand's body becomes a pretty good meat shield for a lot of peacock's projectiles that I normally get people to have to block.
4. Against BB, I gave him too much space by me walking backwards. I got hit with H giant step a lot but was too afraid to jump to avoid for fear of A-train, so I ended up walking back a lot. I should just hold downback and just block high when I see it start up on reaction.
5. I should probably just do more reversals when I expect a reset. I always just tried to predict where to block/avoid throw when I probably could have gotten more reversals in.
6. Stop running into BB c.HP and stop overestimating merry-go-rilla range.
7. Mike Z said to not do some like c.LK > nothing with Filia and to just commit to what stuff. I tend to do c.LK into either another c.LK or iad aerial to catch people pushblocking or just to not over commit to something to avoid reversals from a blockstring. He said its not really a mixup and its not a way to play a pixie. I kinda see what he's getting at, but watching over some of the matches, I did catch him quite a few times with just doing c.LK > nothing to see if it hit. I hate committing to doing c.LK > c.MK because of the frame disadvantage on it and c.LK > MK would just cause HP to whiff.
8. I'll remember more after I get back from work probably.

I'll probably try streaming some more so people hit me up if you are willing to play while I'm doing so.
