<IsaSH> try to find resets which deplete a lot of undizzy but risk going back to neutral if the opponent defends well (such as say, launch, wait on the ground, AA button as theyre coming down)
<MrPeck-work> but yeah, those are the weaknesses. they only have one assist, they get ruined by a double snap, if their only assist is weak they cant call it, and if they lose one character they're down to a solo

<IsaSH> Against Duos its useful because Undizzy depletion is very strong vs them and if you go back to neutral you hold the advantage due to 2 assists

Regarding the duo vs trio comparison, one aspect to running a trio that I think is somewhat under emphasized is health/red health management. If a trio is able to tag their characters back and forth ( via combos -> tag, or DHCs even if it won't kill ), they can make the match last A LOT longer, even regaining a little bit of health can force one more reset to kill a character, plus if you tag out a character with a small amount of red health then chances are your opponent will not tag them back in because it may not be worth it, whereas if they have a ton of red health you can bet your ass they're going to tag them back. Duo's have to play a bit stricter in this regard because they will either sacrifice red health to tag, or need to not call assists while they regen red health. This definitely means the trio needs good synergy and certainly requires a play style people may not like, but I think it's worth exploring.

edit: Think of it this way. Would you prefer your opponent to kill your 3 characters in a row, or to kill all 3 of them little by little? 15000 HP is much better when it's spread across 3 characters as opposed to 1 character.

So i dropped fortune again and now i know why.

The short version of this is that i only enjoy headless. If i chose to stay headon i might as well play filia which i do. I also hate that her air normals are subpar her airgrab range is piss poor and the utter lack of assist other than two good ones. One of which is hard to convert with my characters and the other i must be headless to use it.

To me that is not a character that does anything for me and so i drop her.

Back to main team filia fukua bella

With m shadow and h lnl.
And parasoul with squigly and bella with c.hp and copter.

So upon using fukua/filia/parasoul i find it to be a solid team but nothing compares to the bulldozing team that is filia/fukua/bella. No matter how much i cut it that team literally works too damn well with how i want to quickly kill and eliminate all types of teams if i use it right.

Anyhow this week i tried parasoul/filia/fukua which is a decent team but i realized that copter is better for parasoul than H drill in the way parasoul works which is utterly annoying to deal with.
Fukua/Filia/parasoul works well in the fact that if you DHC to filia. fukua will be anchor and then parasoul is mid now which is awesome. since filia works better with H drill than Parasoul does. but both do very well with M shadow but it doesn't push them to the corner at all which parasoul likes. In the end i do believe M shadow might be the better assist for parasoul given her ground game and forcing her to commit to an air normal which is utterly annoying and limiting to what i want.

ALSO i need to complete the fukua compendium and use OBS to record my matches/ sets with whoever i play with.

Random notes include that eliza's airdash airgrab will beat out parasoul in the air for no reason this was shown various times and her recovery rate is masked rather well by the animation IMO.

i've gotten 10x better at fighting duos at this point but still make minor mistakes that snowball into bigger problems.

Parasoul: I need to place my tears better and convert more from tear detonation.

Fukua: nothing much to improve other than use my neutral tools better and convert from c.hp fireball into bff or s.mk, c.hp into fireball into bff.
Filia: nothing much other than use my neutral tools more and reset in a way that people pressing buttons on the way down will get ch'd

Bella: stop resetting so much like a smug shit sometimes.

Squigly: same as bella. Learn chargeless stancel combos.

General: stop looking for immediate reward and play players that will punish me for doing so. Learn tag combos for each team that i use.

Teams:
Main: Filia/fukua/bella
Subs:

Soul/squigs/Bella
Soul/Filia/Fukua
Fukua/Filia/bella
Fukua/Filia/Soul
dropped: fortune
Reason: because her assist offer nothing to me and the only thing enjoyable about that character is that she had headless and i think my 2/3;s of the team can do much more than fortune.

as it stands the characters i can utilize well:
Filia
Fukua
Parasoul
Bella
Squigly

Chsracters i sucked with:

Fortune
Eliza

Characters i may never learn:
Pw
Big band
Robo
Peacock
double

Crying
Legitmately. I think robo sucks and doesnt do it for me. I dont like running away with peacock plus i would have to custom my buttons.
and big band i feel extremely uncomfortable with controlling a living overhead mess when i can use other characters

i.....am done with the compendium......I literally have no reason to really look at this game other than the pure fact that i enjoy it. For right now i don't even care about getting better. but rather i'm just...."done". Anyhow next up is a video and a proper Fukua Video divided in 6 sections. from resets, to normals, to neutral tools to burst baits to tags ins. to versatility and i may need LOT of help for this. and someone is willing.

After tonight that brief "done" is gone and i want to get better with parasoul and squigly and try out different teams. Any takers?

Also might want to try out a duo for the first time!
Fukua/eliza with osiris spiral.

Or squigly with eliza and see how that goes

I figure this is a better place to ask than the PW compendium thread, but what changed your mind about potentially learning PW? or are you just trying to learn her in order to play the match up better

Straight up? She has the best mash baits. Can fly. Doesnt have to engage if she has to. Can fly. Can reset as well as filia and having better neutral. Can fly.

Honestly even though i hate her and her buffs i like the reset capabilities. I would feel right at home with her if i learn just like i did with filia

If there was any clear advice i would give to anyone that i don't listen to its this.

Whenever you reset you must place complete faith in your execution that the reset is going to work. Not "maybe if this works" not "hopefully this works" but you must believe it will work. If you don't have faith in how or when you reset then resort back to blockstun pressure. Sooner or later the undizzy will run out and someone has to make a move.

Burst baits work on certain people but some people do not burst because they know the opponent will let up at some point. so sometimes you're fine getting hit by the burst on purpose to train them. other times you can use a light attack so that the delay burst will only be up to 10-15f(Speculating) while still remaining in their face.

Posting to keep it in memory to keep the momentum for trying to keep being better going.

Going to start recording the stuff for fukua's overview on things. I might focus on her tools.

After my graduation i will begin the recording process.

Hopefully before my birthday comes around i will be done with fukua once and for all....or not.
Must learn PW and decided on the following teams for her

Pw/L shadow/copter

Or soul with l shot/ pw with l pinion and fukua with l shadow

As far as duos go. They're simply not interesting to me. I liked the challenge of finding a cohesive build with three characters.

But i've seen their purpose.

What i'm looking for is something similar to the filia/fukua/bella team. Something made for oppressive rushdown that i like.

Which is prolly why i cant use val since she require so much patience.

Updates on other characters:
squigs:still the same level as i've had her kinda tough to figure out how to get even better with squigs.

Parasoul: tear placement has improved. And conversions off of stray tears is improving however i feel less confident if i'm not prepared for the detonation so i place another tear even if the other one successfully hit the opponent. Muh.

Fukua: s.mk,c.hp fireball bff MUST CONFIRM WITH THAT. Use c.hk more. And use some of the tailored team tech with parasoul

Currently its always s.mk c.hp, l.shadow when i have more than enough time to convert with beta fukua.

eliza: as cool as her assist are. Something about her will not click with me and i dont enjoy the neutral with her. Its hard to explain. But osiris spiral is just great.
bella: just need to tighten up some resets and use kanchou feints or atleast experiment more with them. Especially with assist behind it.

filia: i honestly dont know. I have team tech now with m shadow that i use rather frequently but i dunno what to look at other than general things like learning when to press certain buttons in certain situations.

General: be safe. Dont go for a mixup that ultimately the opponent might double jump out of bad habit when air throw as worked every time.

Get tighter reads in neutral and over the course a set

Also after a throw break i should keep on the ground more. I've been spoiled by good air normals .

Last note. Since i come from 3D games. Yomi was a major focus in those games. I realized that this is a good portion of everyone's first serious fighting game. Point is i think too hard on people going to adapt when most are just in the "reaction" phase.

yo figure out a setup for jMP fast fall dashunder as that is a scary ass reset for painwheel

it works from the fHK4 8Fly otg jMP thing I do, but you have to be close to them, and in my combo, I am not, and maybe you can figure out something

Soo i def like pw.

I learned her corner combos. Resets. And how to use nails and her overall movement. Now i just need to learn matchups and how to use armor more effectively.

Right now i plan to work on my main team and see what else i can find. I might try copter with filia/fukua/bella.

how to use armor more effectively... hmmm that's tough to sa- just charge heavy normals like crazy in front of someone. by having their back to the corner just throw out a lock down assist, aka: mk or hk drill and charge c.hp, s.hp, c.hk, or j.hp fly cancel dash up grab.

remember the strength about painwheel is that she can charge up armored normals and still not full commit to the move by just flying out of it. This forces the opponent to jump when pressured by a painwheel because they can't try to punish the normal. the best they can do is read painwheel and catch her when she cancels out her fly into a air normal.

This may end up being my 2nd main team. i can provide a Essay on why but....
TL;DR it functions the way my filia point team functions.

here are some current vids. Warning: what's shown on my screen is prolly laggier on the opponent's side

IF you have any tips particularly on parasoul PLS PLS PLS PLS PLS share insights on what i could do with parasoul

or just in general. from resets to defense and even assist calls to better my offense.

When you're using Parasoul and you try to reset the opponent in the corner, you seem to be using drill assist more than Filia's UpDo. It just seems to be like your opponent is jumping out more often than not.

other than that, Robo Kitty seems like a tricky character to get a hold of due to her space control and zoning. I:I not sure what to say to counter it... less pushblocking? or PBGCs? idk...

Robo i believe is a sucky character but the times she does hit is when things get interesting. honestly i'm not quite sure how to deal with robo's j.mp. i assume its more about just blocking then pushblocking the usual c.lk. the rest is just due to her assist carrying robo.

nods head...

I'm going to have trouble fighting her too. oh well in case of emergency, use armor. all of the armor. But that is one thing i know a robo kitty will do. she will try to back off at one point and call an assist while using her air beam before landing and going for a low lazor or a drone call.(given if she has the heads.)

once she has started to do this it's best to close in the gap as quickly as possible. With Fukua this should be a problem thanks to her BFF. With Parasoul a lucky sniper shot should do it. but trying to use tears to fight robo from a distance is not good. Lazors win over Tears anyday.

sev> stagger everything
<sev> react to their PB
<sev> with shot
<sev> they'll usually do it on your medium normal if you're doing LMH shot stuff
<sev> so, often you'll be doing LM shot
<sev> and that's hard to get out of
