Skarmand's point still stands. Much of Canada is very secluded from each other due to how spread out all the major population hubs are (on top of being sparsely populated to begin with, compared to the USA).

I could be a liason for Southern Ontario and maybe the Montreal/Quebec City metropolis (although I still think @Shnarfl would be better suited for the latter, but he is not very active right now), but I don't know anything about people west or north of southern Ontario or anything east of Quebec. You could maybe ask @Jason to ask around in Newfoundland/Labrador, but pretty much almost each province would need its own liason. lol

Don't even bother asking me about the Yukon/NWT/Nunavut scenes. lol

I only know of the few apparent players like Skarmand, Yaya, and Girlystyle from BC, and that's about it.
Yo. Let's fight for who we put up as potential rep at Canada Cup.

Necroing to send @Slyzor to represent Russia!

I like him, even when he is controversial (or especially so because of such to be honest, which is why I like a lot of people, like CM, and Mike Z himself) and I think he is underestimated in regards to his KNOWLEDGE of the game, if only in regards to that which is relevant in creating combos, both optimal and especially creative. I am unaware of his level of play, but as on point as he can be about his information and understanding of the game, I would not be surprised if he is at least competent in play, I'm sure he could whup me (which may not be any credit towards him being a viable candidate), and I like him so nyeh. He has a lot of my respect, much like Dragonos does.

And I am not aware of any other player who can represent Russia! If you're out there, speak up!

Veritas is my dude and I had to explain to him what the word "homie" meant once. I would very much like to see him at a tournament!

Let's re-approach this. I deleted some of the choices that were said to be unavailable, or simply unpopular.

What I would like is for us to compile a list of people who can act as liaisons for the people above, to talk to them and work out the details of them coming, should this idea happen. We've already got sig into the fold, so we're able to communicate with him, but we need to establish similar links with the other players on this list.

Please, speak up if you know of ways to get in touch with any of these players.

@Woofly and @Mr Peck, you're obviously already here, and English speakers, so you have no need of liaisons. Are both of you open to this? I know that Peck said he may opt out in favor of paying his own way.

Same to you, @ClarenceMage, are you open to this?

@Kai I could try to talk to GFarmer if you want. Are you trying to get him to this year's Combo Breaker(2016, of course) or...?

I can afford to go to Combo Breaker with my own money, so I'll opt out in favour of people who can't.

The combo breaker hype begins!

Absolutely. Please try to get in touch with him, and get connected to us either on here, or on twitter.

Got it. Thanks :)

Changing my vote to add SIG. I didn't have a great sense of how good he was just from watching his matches at EVO, but now that I've played him myself I'm sold. One of the smartest players I've ever played against.

I would much rather see @Yaya or @Woofly at CB because they actually communicate with players from NA and are more involved with the community.

SIG doesn't seem involved with us at all and I hadn't heard of him until Evo.

I would like to see someone else get a chance to go so that's where my vote will be.

Is Yaya in need of the assistance? I'm 100% ok with including him in this poll, I just wasn't aware the situation was as such.

I just wish Japan were more involved in general. It would be cool if guys like Jabara could be more open to interacting with the SGC at large and be more open to travelling along with SIG.

It's like there's an entire army of strong players that may or may not exist that most people know nothing about. Hell, I keep hearing legends about a "125Man" who's SUPER good but I've never actually seen him play. At all. It's why I'm always looking for more arcade footage outside of what's already posted on these forums because I just want to know more about those guys.

I'm absolutely in need of assistance. I didn't think people would be interested in sending me but I've told a lot of people about how I've really wanted to go.

MMDS posted a video of a long set against him right here on these very forums. It's 159man, btw.

amabane's stream is the best way I know of to see Japanese SG play. He streams at weird hours though, which is to say perfectly normal hours for where he is.

Changing my vote to Yaya because I have never seen a zombie up close.

Also, who was the person talking to Sig about getting him to NEC? We need them to ask him about this whole thing.

I'll ask him too. I'm redoing an interview with him later this week.

Changed my vote again to add Yaya. Do NOT add any more people, this is an extreme amount of work to have to keep changing it. Thank

Most people don't know, but I was the one who actually came up with the whole
plan to bring SIG :)

would like to see people coming from as many countries as possible.. :D but i don't know any famous international player/

@Mr Peck, if you could, please reach out to @Woofly, I'm not sure he's seen this most recent discussion. I just need to know he's confirmed to be able to take part in this.

Were you the one interfacing with him and getting him the money, and stuff? If so, please reach out to him again and get him brought up to speed on this.

Yes I was. I'll go ahead and tell him about this.

amabane streams at 2-3pm and streams for up to an hour to like 4, depending on how he feels. I think that translates to 2 am EST. He does it pretty regularly, but he doesn't have any obligation or streaming schedule; it's purely for his enjoyment and for yours. As far as Japanese players, the arcade scene in Machida/Akihabara is dead so online is where you wanna look. I haven't checked PSN that often, but they're ok(?). Notable players that I've seen in Korea/Japan/Thailand/China

SIG
jabara241_JPN(or something like that)
159man
KST
an no joe(he took a break, no idea how good he is now)
keukegen_kkg(JP)
cavelove
GFarmer
ginger_pp
R[TW]
SCOTT_WHALE
tagane3(I haven't seen this guy in forever)

The list is in no particular order, I just put them on because they've shown exceptional skill with 1 or more characters and have a proficient knowledge of the game. There are more(like noipoi733 or something like that) but there's honestly too many and I don't remember them all since I just got back from a party. anyway, that's a good bit. I'm not going to compare anyone on this list to players in US/EU because I don't play against them.

Well, it is the biggest SG tournament normally, isnt it?
