Shin Megami Tensei and Persona

Make Narumi a joke character

just make him Phoenix Wright

Narumi just throws coffee at people and hits them with his car
give him Tae as a Maya super

Am i the only one bummed they renamed Pyro Jack to Jack-o-lantern? Yeah its more correct but c'mon. The little guy has been Pyro Jack for decades!

This threw me off a little.

Also when will Raido get love.
Summoner 1/2 were amazing

2004 was 20+ years ago confirmed.

As far as I am aware he is ジャックランタン in every game and if I remember correctly "Pyro Jack" didn't start being a thing until Nocturne. If either of these statements are incorrect I'd be interested to know what the actual case is.

So how far are you guys in the story so far?
I kinda caved in and watched a full playthrough and I forgot if I watching Persona or full on SMT for a moment

Goro could've been a great character if he wasn't the bitch henchman of the worst villain in the series and then quickly swept under a rug after you beat him.

Yeah, I was really disappointed with how Goro was handled.
I beat it a day or two ago, really enjoyed it, but god damn the script needed a few more passes. Especially anything involving the villains, nearly any time a bad guy was on screen it was honestly kind of embarrassing.

I can't believe they're doing it all at once
I'm totally cool with a fighting spinoff because then I can play as Makoto. No loss there
But a fucking racing game?
Why?
I think that the R stands for "Red".

As in, a rerelease.

Besides Kamoshida, the villains were really poor. Just super uninteresting, generic cartoonish assholes. I'd take Adachi over these losers any day.

I was with you until you implied a villain who felt like an unfinished asspull at best was substantially better.

I'll defend Adachi. I love him. I'd have a drink or two with him.

At least he's entertaining instead of someone like this piece of shit. This Kamiya-looking dork.

Adachi was better, if only for the fact that he fit better into the overall themes of the game he was in

he's an asshole piece of shit villain that I'd cast away if Dojima got to be the killer instead, but he's not goober tier like P5's antagonists

I wish they did more with guns. They had a whole 3 moves. Snap, Triple Down, and otk. Needed more variety.

I thought the second villain was okay. (Don't wanna drop names) but I think the third and fifth villains were pretty fucking lame. Haven't gotten past there yet.

None of the villains are given much time to build up aside from the first. There was an opportunity as there is one guy thats always there, but they throw him out instead of using him. I will admit I like the final enemy mostly due to the plot twist around him and how well it relates to the start of the game.

Villains and story aside, the dungeons were great. Really sets that bar for future Persona/SMT games.

For me: Pyramid > Bank > Castle > Casino > Space station > Museum > Ruse cruise.

I'm also curious how they are going to treat Shadows from here on.

Also P5 sets an interesting premise; if a Shadow of someone is left unchecked, it becomes the "persona" of the person IRL. I wonder what would have happened if the scenario was like that in P4, instead of the threat of death the scoobies actually became assholes.

no one would even know something was different with yosuke
the perfect crime

Dream needle.

be cool if each character's gun did something different like in DDS

Well they sort've do.

Like MC's is a simple gunshot while other characters have spread shots and stuff

Did you never meet the Tower?

I did but as far as i got his skills only really applird to the mc.

They typically do but they're still interesting abilities.
That gun based all out attack at the start of ambushes that takes half of all enemy health is sort of a party ability, I guess. Though not really. Eh.

I get that one a lot. Its good. I really like how they improved social links. I still wish personas evolved via story events and just massive power ups from social links (some of these don't quite feel like big enough revelations to totally change thier persona imo).

Im kinda bummed there weren't any real cameos in this game aside from one i found. I half expected Junpei to show up at the batting cages.

I'm still here wondering why Ma- spells still don't have unique animations

What the fuck were they thinking, making Makoto's ultimate Persona NOT the Popemobile? Fuck off with this transformer shit

Yeah Final Fantasy already got them beat with the Shiva Sisters who turn into a bike when they scissor each other.

Adachi is just an edge-lord fuck with a typically stupid as hell motivation for wanting to destroy the world. His identity as the perpetrator was woven into the story nicely though.

He's OKAY. Decent enough, but not a villain I feel particularly strongly for.

I still don't understand how he would have known when and where the bodies would appear since as far as I know it's supposed to be him standing in the fog on those nights. Or why he bothered for that matter.

I thought it was supposed to be Izanami standing around in the fog tbh

It's been years, so I may be misremembering, but wasn't the person in the fog confused or frustrated when bodies didn't show up? Why would she feel that way? Why wouldn't she know when people got rescued?

It was actually Yosuke, who was the true villain. He was in fact not cool with being second banana.

He wanted Narukami's banana the entire time
Wanted it all to himself
