Shin Megami Tensei and Persona

So I've decided to start Persona 2, any tips for me?

he's also basically OP with early fusion spells via Straight Slash.

IS?
Max DEX, handout Personas can last you the whole game, spread expensive shop rumors, let your party members take care of themselves (don't abandon Yukino though), Eikichi a best.

So Something that had me a bit worried; the P5A domain name means hopefully a new fighter soon, but it also means Morgana might get Jubei'd, which sucks cause I like Morgana a lot. You think there's a way to still make him playable?

Could just make him tied to his persona. Or his sword counts as part of his hitbox. Itd make him as tall as teddie more or less...

I just hope we get p2 characters this time round. I heard a rumor Tatsuya and Eikichi were gonna be in it, but the source is basically a friend so....yeah dont get our hopes up....

Tatsuya
I'm going to say that's literally impossible until I get proven wrong. But yeah, any P2 representation would be cool.

Did we ever see results from that survey they did? IS/EP HD remake getting good numbers would be a dream come true.

Picked up Smt4A again today. On my second play through. Is the Dagda ending worth going for? I don't think any demons are locked behind that ending?

I think that it's better since Dagda's motivation turned out to actually be kind of interesting, as do certain parts of that route. More so than power of friendship saves the world, at least.

So, uh, I've heard it online before but I can never find the information on it. I heard there are things called "ancestor personas" in Persona 2 (Iunno which one). Does anyone have any tips or even general info on these?

Putting this in a spoiler just in case...

They're special personas you have to jump through hoops for, but can be found in a late-game area of Eternal Punishment. You have to spread rumors about mummified remains and fill up the offertory box when going to Morimoto Sanitarium. Doing this will cause them to be in Sumaru Castle, and having all three of them makes the boss of that dungeon easier. I could say more, but I'm trying not to spoil too much.

Or you can just grind to lvl 99 and get Satan and Lucifer and one shot every boss in the game :3

I dont recommend doing that. Persona 2 doesnt have a ton to do to make that easier

Spoilery stuff on the seventh palace. REALLY REALLY NEAR THE END. Before you secure a route to the treasure.
Goro by boy-o. Wowzer. I think his last scenes were pretty okay, shame his entire character motivation hinges on a villain I can't bring myself to truly feel anything other than boredom for. I used to think that maybe Atlus would let you "save" him in an updated port, like a P5 FES or something, but he's too irredeemable. Anyone else think the characters were too nice to him? I know they said they wouldn't forgive him and all, but I would never trust that guy if he was an ally to take down Shido. Also, I was hoping he'd last longer because he's a way better villain than Shido. More memeable too, since that's a thing a loser like me is into. Anyone else have some thoughts on that?
P.S. Fuck Atlus for hiding him for so long. If he was out in the open I'm sure I wouldn't have tried prying for him and getting sppilers.

Beat the game this morning

Ending was super mellow and feel-good. Couldn't help but smile when that van drove into the distance and the credits started rolling. I don't think I like the Phantom Thieves as much as the P3 or P4 gang, but I'm glad they got their happy ending.

Final boss was a joke by the way. Super easy. Had a harder time with some of the Palace bosses like Madarame and Wakaba.

To be honest the only boss fight I really enjoyed was the attendant fight. Not that I particularly disliked most of the others, but only a couple stick out in memory as being particularly good.

Would you say it's easier than Shido? I had an actually stressful time with that one, mostly for its length.

Yeah definitely. The final boss is less stressful and even shorter than Shido. When I beat it I honestly thought it was only a first phase or something but nope. I was level 75 and I was worried I was underleveled but it's no biggie.

Also, about XP, how do you grind so hard? Does Mishima's confidant experience boost that good? I'm only level 63 at the mementos depths. Is that good enough?

The final area after Mementos Depths has 4 mini bosses and really high level demons like MARA <3 wandering around and all of that boosted me up 10 levels in like an hour, it was nutty. My entire party leveled up basically after every other normal battle, you get insane XP. Mishima's Confidant is probably a big factor to that.

Yahtzee did a review on it as his first Persona game. Seems like he enjoyed it.

I'm sure he'll like it less once he plays 3 and 4 and sees how much 5 rehashes from those games

If its not broke dont fix it.

eikichi wasn't broken but all the bro characters after him just got worse

There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason behind which dialogue options convince personas to join you
For fuck's sake it literally tells you at the start of every fucking hold up and there's even a written tutorial in the menu.

Some of the reused design decisions do get a little grating. But if you pretend that Persona 5 is a sequel to Persona 4, then a lot of these things become forgivable!

okay bud calm down there's no need to be upset shhh
It's tiring seeing people still bitch about demon negotiation when it's now consistent, makes sense and is near impossible to fail, especially when they complain about things that aren't remotely true, I could understand the same type of idiots who could barely do anything in the game having this complaint, but he clearly played through it on top of playing games for a living. I had honestly expected to see more of morons on the other side of the spectrum complaining it was too casual now or something, but I surprisingly have not.

And I'm baffled, not upset. Sure, it can still be construed as frustration, but there is no need for that.

Honestly I didn't fail a single negotiation my entire playthrough. The Confidant perks really help.

Make him Teddie sized.
Otherwise I don't feel anything significant is lost.
Morgana's instant kill would probably be making his opponent go to bed anyway.

I'm sure it'll have a bunch of Persona 4 characters, hopefully not all of them. Same with 3 characters. I'm sure the P4 characters would be aged up too, ala the P3 characters in the last one

That would also mean the P3 characters would also be aged up again.

Old man Akihiko still punching fools bare chested.

Dude, he wouldn't even be that old. It's not like it's been 20 years.

Persona 5 takes place in 20XX anyways
could be 2079 for all we know

It takes place long enough away for the P4 cast to get jobs
There's a TV segment (I dunno the day)
That mentions something about a cop with a fondness for Kung Fu, if you catch my drift
