Shin Megami Tensei and Persona

Then it'll be like selecting Heritage for the Future's added characters or the console-exclusive characters in KOF XI: The characters will be selectable, but the cursor will go off screen.

We need to talk about the new gameplay features..............

Who wants a 3-some with Akihiko & Shadow Akihiko?

gameplay

Whaaaaaaaaaaaa

Who wants a 3-some with Akihiko & Shadow Kanji?

There we go.

Honestly, the game play changes are important and all, but its the story that most of the P4A fanbase is excited for. Actually, no, that's just my opinion, but I believe this game has the best of both worlds when it comes to what a fighting game should have and what it can have. Exciting gameplay coupled with an engaging and interesting story. Putting aside some "clone" stories (coughcoughYukikoYosukeChiecough), the story as a whole really touches you and actually makes you pay attention to what it means to the game as a whole.

But yeah, guys, I think we've talked about lore for a good long time, let's get some comments on these new game play changes.

It would be easier to talk about the new gameplay features if we can actually view and analyze footage of it. You can only go so far based on observations of others and statements of what it does.

Anyway how about that new S Hold system?

It reminds me of whatever SF X T called that thing when you charge up an appropriate special move to an EX version or hyper. This sounds more like just EX moves, but you can do it with any special move. (Gets ready to spam fully charged Dragon Kick D's as Shadow Chie)

I'm really interested in Sho Minazuki, I am interested in what they could do with him or how he will fit in the story although I have some ideas.

Nearly all the characters in persona 3 and 4, i am not entirely sure about persona 1 and 2 but most of the characters have the same eye colour and hair colour, except for characters who aren't fully human eg Labrys, Aigis, Teddie etc. If this is the case then Sho might be something that isn't human. What could he be, I am not entirely sure.

This just reminds me how I should beat Persona 4 already so I can buy Arena
And Persona 3 on top of that. I'd say there's not much reference to Persona 3 compared to Persona 4 (obviously) but if your goal is to appreciate the story fully you'd have to play that game too. They're both good so the more the merrier.

The downside of having Persona 3 around for so long (And being in an RP Group) is that literally every single major point has been spoiled. The ending, FES, Aigis' deal, every single plot point.
Less so with Persona 4, the spoiler grace period for that seems much nicer.

I think it's because P4 kept saying "this isn't the ending, THIS is" so spoilers to the entirety of P4 are kinda hard to do. Of course, P4A spoils some important P4 stuff too.

-Yu and his party succeed in their mission without any casualties
-Naoto is a girl
-Teddie is a Shadow
-Everyone not only survived fighting a goddess, but Yukiko's, Chie's, AND Rise's cooking, making them the toughest Persona users ever
-Kanji is actually, maybe, definitely, sometimes, always, possibly gay
-Due to being exposed to the Shadow World at such a young age, Nanako becomes the Ken of P4 and decides to fight in the second P-1 Grand Prix (oh, the things I'll make up for Nanako to become playable...the closest I'll ever get is Elizabeth with Nanako as navigator...)

I just wanna see him for spear fighting. It sounds like a blast to play. I don't think I've played as anyone with a spear since....Soul Calibur 3, lol.

Yeah, basically. That'd be good too.
Basically all I want in P4A's expansion at this point is Ken and maybe Margaret.
And maybe P3 Protag. But that's a pipe dream.

What about Koromaru as a playable character?

All plausible, looking at how the story is going. P3 protag can potentially be way darker than the other two, though:

Either, he comes back because Elizabeth figured out some way to say "fuck you" to the rules like she always does and bring him back without having to Max a Social Link with EVERY SINGLE PERSON ON EARTH (seriously, she would have had to do this), and the game turns towards finding some other way to seal Death's Door.

OR

The Malevolent Entity somehow gets a hold of his spiritless body and uses it as a vessel for evil stuff, making him playable, but screwing with S.E.E.S and every single P3 fan on Earth.

If Makoto somehow does come back though, I'd really like to see him implement his ability to use different kinds of weapons, ala MVC3 Amaterasu.

Koromaru....huh, I'm not too sure. We have to consider if he's even up for fighting after all those dog years between P3 and PUSH.

Honestly, P4A's story is much more spoileriffic of P3's than P4's. And to think that the P3 characters are actually gonna get an even bigger spotlight this time.

It's cool because I don't like the Scooby Doo gang anyway

Yeah, it's actaully really neat how the expansion has more in line with P3 in design and story.
I mean.
IT's kinda awesome how Persona 3 guys are getting limelight now.
Persona 4's the most popular one,but at least the predecessar is getting some more life in it
Especially given the movie coming out

Could just be a foreigner, like P2's Lisa.

Also just for the record.
If you still don't have Persona 4 Arena (LIKE ME!), it's buyable at Amazon for $20(!) Dollars.
Not bad.
And if you got a Vita you can get that and Persona 4 The Golden shower for $25 too

Why did you have to summon the Primal Rage flashbacks?

Ah good point, I haven't actually played persona 1 and 2 so that might have slipped my mind.

So let's see:

Persona 4 Playable Characters: Yu, Yosuke, Yukiko, Chie, Kanji, Teddie and Naoto
Persona 3 Playable Characters: Mitsuru, Akihiko, Aigis, Junpei, Yukari, Labrys, Shadow Labrys and Elizabeth

Speculation says this Sho guy is a new P4 allied character (due to the Yasogami jacket around his waist). Assuming this is true, this rounds the sides, even with the Shadow Versions of everyone, it just doubles. But then there is no Shadow Shadow Labrys, so that again puts P3 one character down. Evil Makoto would round it out again. With a surprise Margaret and Ken reveal to continue the round. And then reveal Kei Nanjo to relieve the fans who want him. I watched a playthrough of some of P1 and its was BORING AS HELL TO WATCH but he was the only character that stuck out to me (and I kinda wanna fight to "A Lone Prayer") Also "The #1 Man of Japan" is a kinda cool title I guess. It's the perfect plan. It must happen. It must.....

I really don't think people fully understand the conflicts Kanji had in P4. they keep saying he's gay, but clearly he is Naotosexual. Believe me, there is a difference.

I honestly love the persona series, and I prefer the down to earth not as serious nature of P4, and it is nice to see the P3 cast get a little more limelight this time around.

I still say Labrys should have been allowed to stay in Inaba..... the P4 cast deserves a robot girl too and let's not forget Labrys' SELF PROCLAIMED title of Yasogami Student Council President!

y'know, i'd LOVE to see Michelle (Ekichi mishina) back in action... he's the most stylish persona user to date

But are they worth his time?
YOU AIN'T WORTH MA TIME

Depends if you like reading into the story. If you just like hearing the characters talk, you'll be fine. Reading will be had. LOTS of it. If ya looking for an arcade run, there's a VERY watered down story for you there. Why some people judge the game's story from the ARCADE mode instead of the STORY mode I'll never know.

Yeah I was asking how long a general characters story mode lasted.
And I heard there's only normal endings and gag reels, is that true?

In general, if you read every line and didnt skip through...I'd say about a solid 45 min to an hour. Yes, some characters have joke endings. And they are all hilarious.

I still haven't touched P4A's story mode because I still haven't finish Persona 4 Golden.

My favorite story was Labrys'. Made me just about cry.

Director Seiji Fukumoto and assistant producer Takumi Iguchiya had an interview with Dengeki Online. It covers some character concepts.

It made me notice that Shadow characters don't have a burst.
JDLtdjL.jpg

Shadow characters lacking a burst is really old news. They don't have Awakening either. In exchange, Shadow Fury (the reason why Shadow Chie's meter is purple) enables temporary special-to-special canceling and unlimited meter, and they can do Awakening supers at any time with 100 SP.

Yeah Shadows don't have Bursts/Awakening/1.0 damage, but its a double edged sword. They get an exclusive power up ability, meter carries over between rounds, etc

Getting a Melty Blood 'Moon System' vibe from this.

If those other slots are actually characters and not just the edge of the screen, then it's pretty easy to guess who they're gonna be.

The rest of the Shadow Ops.

Now, WHO will the selected six from the shadow ops, is a better question.

We already have like 5 of them in the game.

Also, can a nigga PLEASE GET DANGER ZONE as a alternative for Master of Tartarus.

Master is really really good but Danger Zone is so.................So good for a fighting game.

And if Malve. Entity is exactly who everyone thinks he is than whatchamacall it being in the game is pretty likely.
