[Muro]

Friendly Competitive Environment to Level Up Yo Skullgirls - EU Steam Edition.

Online tournament league using the Swiss System for European SG players.
Everyone gets a chance to play equally under this type of tournament without being eliminated.

Starting 31/08/2014 all Skullbats EU PC tournaments are played in "Seasons".
One Season = 7 weeks of Swiss-style tournaments and a Top 8 Double Elimination tourney on the 8th week.
8 players who gather most points thorough the season are qualified for said season finals.

These points in turn are earned each Sunday in weeks 1-7 based on which tier they take in the Swiss tournament
(where tier = group of people with the same number of wins; explained in detail here):

1st tier: 9* points
2nd: 7
3rd: 5
4th: 3
5th: 2
6th+: 1

*If you are clear first (rather than tying for first), you get a bonus point for a total of 10.

NOTE: If a player leaves mid-tourney for whatever reason (disqualification / forfeit), he is given zero points no matter how high he scored that evening.

Sundays 7:00pm GMT / 8:00pm CET / 9:00pm EET / 10:00pm MSK.

Spoiler: RULES FOR WEEKLY SWISS TOURNEYS

-European players ONLY! (players from North/South America should check out THIS instead).

- Entrants are expected to be in the chatroom 5-15 minutes prior to start time. Tourney will start as soon as brackets are shuffled. A Registration Reminder will be sent out on Steam 15 minutes early before start.

- Each match is a FT3 (best 3 out of 5).

- Winner must keep solo character or team and Assists. Loser may change.

- If you pick Random Select and win a match, then you're locked with the character the game picked for you and not allowed to pick random select again until you lose a match.

- If there is an uneven number of entrants (like 15), then some players will have to sit out a round without an opponent. Challonge compensates by giving that player a Bye point, which is equal to a win.

-No game breaking glitches, obviously.

- If someone does not show up for their match they will be given a warning. If there is no response whatsoever then they will be disqualified.

- Any player may choose to forfeit if they decide the connection is unplayable. The other player will simply get the win.

- If both players agree the connection is bad or don't want to play in it, they may report a draw.

- All sets are by default in the retail version. However, if both players agree on it, they can play in the beta and/or with WIP characters.

- The winner reports the result in groupchat. The tournament host (usually Muro or Sanji) will transfer them to Challonge and announce the next round once all results are in.

- Otherwise, standard Swiss System rules. Whoever has the most points at the end wins.

- For ease of fast reporting, please use the following format: "Muro won 3-1 vs OpponentName".

At 23 participants the tournament is rapidly expanding and I would like to see its growth continue. So, for a bit of playful incentive, I thought having a prize for the winner would be a nice idea, though it's nothing too grand. The proposal I have now is...Minecraft pixel art!

This is just the blueprints of the work in progress. TheHeroOfPie and I are currently building this on a minecraft server, so I had the idea that the winner could request a Skullgirls character (any character as long as there is a reference(yes even Annie is acceptable)). Because of the time this consumes, it will have to be the winner of every two weeks. There's only two of us and we're putting in as much time as we can. So what comes with this?

1) A pixel art of the character of your choice
2) Your name as champion and the date of the tournament you won
3) I think we can even do wallpapers!
4) Induction into the server I dub the Hall of Champions where your glory will forever reign until we run out of room

So, what do you guys think? We won't be able to start until we finish this project first but let me know. I think it would be fun to have a prize but I can't exactly dish out cash.

Regardless of what you decided I hope you'll enjoy the tournaments!
