It just occurred to me that your age is never stated. Like you can get with characters that are under the age of 18. A funny feature would be that you get to put an age at the beginning and if you push the boundaries you'll get a Chris Hansen moment.

A 2015 year old dating a 14 (Technically 28) year old?
Better end up with Eliza than doing that (If her route is already made, of course).

The Lev and Samson bickery does seem well written, and it all looks pretty good in character. Ya guy are doing quite an impressive job with it all.

It's also voice acted pretty impressively too!
(just wish I could post it as a video, but still missing a few lines)

Shout out to the amazing @KuyaLaw and @FunkyHellboy

Will there be an option ingame to toggle voice acting on and off please?

I think the MC's age is 'As old as they need to be'.

In dating sims does the player character ever give their age?

Answer for Magma.
Not exactly.
For example is Katawa Shoujo, a game which stated that you are currently residing in fictional Japan and is on High School / College.
The protagonist's age is to your liking, but it is actually set ambiguously by the programmers and story makers.

An Opinion, though I'm only one hiding badger.
I need to quote my opinion regarding the age system personally, just to get this obnoxious feeling off my Skullheart.
The point of the age system is that to remind you that not every age is A-ok to date other people.
The problem with the system and Skulldate is that Mc. Rad has not yet set the actual age of the protagonist pseudo-canonically, and we're (Or in this case, me) currently waiting for it to be explicitly stated or otherwise we're left with no statement at all. If Lockjaws has any answers to this, it would be great if you can answer the question.

Please.
I, for the sake of god, doesn't want to hear that the protagonist is nigh-under / at / slightly above 18 canonically. Worst age range to pick the exact one, imo.

The protagonist's age, like many of their features, is intentionally left ambiguous to make them as relatable as possible (a practice done in many other games as well). It's for the same reason that I never plan to show the protagonist onscreen or give them any voice acting.

Thanks for making that clear. I have got to say, It bugs me for 8 months literally.
On topic.
In development progress, how far is Squigly's story from completion as of now? I am curious as to what will actually happen since the most recent buld I have for Skulldate is the Remastered Beta (Credit to Mc. Rad).

Squigly's route is really winding down now, actually! All that's left is a brief optional mission/battle and all the ending stuff. Other than that I'm still waiting on a few extra stuff like art assets and VA, but overall it should be complete VERY soon.

It's all come down to this, folks!

Also, after Squigly's route is finished, @Magma442 has expressed interest in writing a Cerebella route, so definitely be on the lookout for that! #HYPETRAIN

Well I hope we get to see that around soon Magma!

OOPS! Sorry. >.<

Also, the audio won't play on my computer, can you upload it to soundcloud?
I unfortunately don't have a Soundcloud account, but don't worry, you'll get to hear it in-game very soon!

Been a while since there's been a new vid, so here ya go!

Made this to show off what should be the very complete version of the Skulldate battle engine (but Painwheel's stats may not be final here)

I gotta say, making these battles is TONS of fun, and I wish there were more ways we could use this engine. Hopefully we'll see some battles like this in the Cerebella route, and others!

(Also the sfx for Painwheel's attacks are pretty meh but I was just trying to get this out quickly)

Hi I'm making the Cerebella route of skulldate but I need some help with some assists.
1. I need some sprites of Cerebella without her hat on (if that's possible). And some with vise versa but no arms.

2. Some NPCless background art (such as backstage at the carnival).

3. Some sprites of cerebella and an armless vice versa.

4. Some sprites of Npcs like Feng

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Also what would you guys like to see in the cerebella route?

Those are good Feng sprites thanks, and yes that's a good background

Cerebella's route should probably start pretty tame before bringing the medici mafia in. Perhaps alternate endings for helping her with her mission or getting her to leave the Medicis? Cerebella has a lot of backstory that could play into her route, and a lot of possiblities given her current situation...

So I just had a pretty neat idea for how we can further use the battle engine: how many people would be interested in a "Skulldate Arcade Mode" separate from all the routes, where you just fight several opponents in a series of turn-based battles without any connecting story? We could have it so that you can fight not only as Squigly and/or Filia, but practically anyone (even DLC characters!), and even fighting in teams! This is something I could potentially work on after the completion of Squigly's story, but I'd like to know if there's interest beforehand.

Also, @FunkyHellboy maybe this could be a good idea to use for Super Skullgirls RPG as well!

An Arcade mode sounds like a good idea, but personally, I'd rather see it take a backseat to the rest of the game.

In RPG, it would be cool to have an arena where you can only use preset teams, yeah. Of course, if there isn't an arena in the RPG, then for shame...

Yea that's what the arena is for. It's a horde mode that is yet to be implemented. To help power leveling if needed.

but why spend time on a mode like that in Skulldate @Lockjawsaga at this point it just becomes a turn based skullgirls simulator. I would just focus on getting more actual compete routes before focusing on something that has no benefit to the overall game.

Also remember not everyone that will be working on Skulldate will be using your battle system as they might want their route to be Unique instead of....Skulldate Squigly version but without Squigly.

As an example of a different mechanic I have helped out @Magma442 story and have pitched a morality gimmick.

It's a fun idea but in my opinion in the end it has no reason to be there, has no benefit to the game, and finally makes the fan game loose focus. ( something that you, yourself, said to me on multiple occasions this project needs)

Well like I said, it wouldn't be until after I'm done with Squigly's route (which I very nearly am), and would be completely separate from the other routes, just so people who liked the battle system would be able to get more of it, and in greater depth. Also, I'm not saying anyone HAS to use the engine in any of their individual routes; again, what I proposed was an entirely separate idea.

I wouldn't be losing focus/taking focus away from Skulldate because as I've said before, I'll be done with it after Squigly's route. Why not use that free time to make something small and fun?

Really wanted to release in time for the fundraiser anniversary, but sadly I didn't make the deadline. Oh well...

To make up for it, here's a glimpse of some art that will be appearing in the Squigly route courtesy of the incredibly talented @Crazyzooka ! Thank you so much, man!

It will be a separate program, but once enough routes are made, then we can discuss merging.

So since multiple people are working on the different routes, are you guys going to be having consistent mechanics between the routes?

Same Battle System.
Same Currency.
Same everything except with another waifu person to talk with, ask out, or date.
Exactly. Based n what I keep reading, it sounds like there are a number of large differences between the routes. I just wanna make sure you guys are keeping the game itself consistent.

Well Squigly's route won't involve currency, and as Funky pointed out, not everyone may want to use the battle system. Other thank that, yeah, everything should remain similar.

Good to know :D
I really wanted to help with this project, too, but unfortunately I feel I'm not familiar enough with any of the characters to write them and I'm still a scrub from a programming perspective. But you guys have my total support.
