" unlike many fighting game trials, Skullgirls 2nd Encore’s trials include combos frequently used in real play, from basic bread ‘n butter to more advanced combos."

thanks god.

SURVIVAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL!!!!

Loving this list of updates. For the hypithetical (though I'm sure it's in there) "Don't jump" thing, does doing any char's Back Dash that has them hop back or Forward like Beo or Val, count as a jump <.>?

If we're going in the nasally direction, how about Harry S Robins?

That certainly nails the nasal stereotypical "nerd" voice.

But now Stanley is confirmed to be played by Christopher Smith. He appears to have a good range. From a low-class fast-talking imbecile like Rufus of Ultra Street Fighter IV, to a high-class snob like Yuan Shao in Dynasty Warriors 7. Apparently he even played Traag on Swat Kats.

Challenges
In challenges, players square off against opponents with a variety of unique battle conditions to test their mettle. Can you beat Big Band without jumping? Or defeat triple Doubles?
I hope this turns out like GG's Mission mode. Having to fight with various status effects or win with certain moves would be a neat challenge.

Edit: Just remembered that the whole "beat X character without jumping" is an actual mission in GG. Really looking forward to this now.

No words can describe how challenge mode and trial mode being added in the game made me feel such exuberance right now (Not jumping when fighting Big Band could be taxing or hilarious).

Out of all the things they announced, I think the fully voiced story mode surprises me the most, in the best of ways. I usually don't care if a game even has voice acting (though I do appreciate it, if it's good), but I got super excited when I read this. I'm really looking forward to the trials mode too. I think now, even after getting Bloodborne and MKX, I'm really happy I got a PS4 'cause I'm hype as hell for this now.

These new features are sounding amazing. Challenge, Trials and Survival are going to be pretty sweet. I'm curious to see how you'll structure trials overall. I've actually grown fond of ASW's recent trend of putting in 2-3 challenges that are "You can do whatever combo you want but it needs to meet X conditions " and hope to see maybe 1 trial like that in Skullgirl's trials. I feel like something like this would be even more fun in Skullgirls because the combo system encourages a lot of creativity to begin with. Not sure what great, ancient evils to expect from challenge mode. I-I'm scared to even try to imagine ;.;

Getting very hyped for the PS4 release. Great job, Lab Zero!

Yeah more single player modes is a welcoming sight to increase the longevity of the game. Voice story modes also helps with the immersion. Wonder what the trophies will be hope some of them arn't gonna be too grindy like 1k online wins or something.

in b4 1K of double snaps!

Wow this is more than I expected. Im obviously happy as can be. I really appreciate the effort put into this.

Here's a question: will these new voices show up in game play? Will Brain Drain talk in Painwheel's fight intro? Will Avery make new bird noises like during j.HK or a new WRYYYYY? Will Tommy & Andy say stuff when falling as Lvl2 item drops or during the Lvl3 Throw Super?

Edit: Or to get really crazy, how about every attack in Double's Lvl3 is now voiced by each of the correct characters?

Well, more like $400,000, right?

But hey, I'm sure they'd love to take the million.

Both Sony and Microsoft allow full trophy/achievement sets for downloadable games now.

Price isn't final yet, but it's not going to be $60, and it's not going to be $15.

Wonder what the trophies will be hope some of them arn't gonna be too grindy like 1k online wins or something.

They're largely in-line with the existing ones - a big chunk of them are for each character's story mode and another big chunk are character gameplay ones. The rest center on the new additions, or things we've put in the game since vanilla launched three years ago.

And casuals like me should be able to get like 40-60% of them without too much trouble, I think.

*Gives Man-Hug that smells of Maple Syrup that fresh new Microphone smell*

Big band voiced story mode....

Let that sink in.
Hnnngh...Time...To Swoon...Remember how a while back I said that if Rich Brown ever got to do that it would need to be a national holiday? I think we'll all need a few more days to recover...that's gonna be SAXXY! <3
can't wait to hear Kaiji as brain drain and yu-won :PUN:
Definitely hyped! After watching all of those episodes of Voices of Gaming, I'm glad he's getting bigger roles. <3

If we're gonna get so many new arcade options I hope the AI gets fixed, because as it is....eh.....
Unless you already did it in the very last update, which I couldn't check for today.

I read that survival will have enemies increase in difficulty. Will that be just that their AI is getting better or will that include modifiers like in the mentioned challenges? (Like no jumping allowed)

And will survival be infinite or is there an end?

Is Marie going to get super nerfed so that I can play story mode on nightmare and be able to actually finish it?

No offense, thought it was a good opportunity :P

I like the challenge of marie on nightmare. Makes good boss rush material.

Really? I pretty much never see anyone refer to fighting to her as fun. Personally I find her tedious, I just don't have fun fighting a character that operates on such a drastically different moveset she may as well not be in a fighting game. I mean, beating her is not THAT bad, but I still avoid it because I find her frustrating at worst and a chore at best. No, other fighting games typically have "bad" bosses too, but usually in my experience I can at least throw them. Marie is probably the only thing about SG that I don't enjoy, honestly.

Nope. Not a bit, dawg.
