Steam - Windows Skullgirls Crashing

Hello my friend recently bought Skullgirls but it is crashing on her every time she tries to open it.

What happens is the screen just goes black, there is a beep, and then it closes and returns to the desktop.

mdumps aren't helpful, unfortunately, Steam's encryption makes 'em useless.

Some questions to start with:
- What OS? (Windows 8 or 10? Try http://skullheart.com/index.php?threads/solved-unable-to-run-the-game.7554/ If you don't even see a loading screen this might be it even on other OS's.)
- Dual monitors?
- Any kind of weird USB peripherals?
- Is she able to get the Beta and give a logfile that the "-log" launch option makes?

If I may ask, what sub forums or forums did you check (if at all) for a potential already posted solution?

I'm wonder where we should stick 'WINDOWS 8 SKULLGIRLS CRASHING FIX' to help other users with the same problem and make sure they find it.
 
I googled for skullgirls crashes, and just crashing in general, i went on bug reports (but actually thought this might be the wrong thread for this as it all seemed to be characters ect) and hardware and software (which again not much seemed actually relevant)

Idk where the faq is i couldnt find one atleast
