Hey everyone.

Just wanted to let you know that the Fukua patch has been submitted to SCEA and SCEE. If it's clean, it could be out early next week on PSN.

And MAQL will be submitting the SCEJ build and XBLA patch once they get back from Golden Week.
 
Have balance changes been put into this version at all?

Or is it just the same as the Big Band patch with Fukua and nothing else changed?

I'm just curious is all, thanks!

And we'll put out patch notes with Fukua's patch, too. But since it was so soon after Big Band, not all that much has changed.

We intended to save it to be more of a midpoint between Big Band and Eliza, but Valentinegate forced our hand.

Yes, Fukua is just in the patch, and not unlocked via DLC.

There is no DLC, since she's not related to the IGG - she's just in the patch, unlocked from the start, hiding to the right of Big Band.

Not needing to list DLC on the store is a big part of the reason we were able to turn it around so quickly.

That's still 4 to 6 months earlier than EU PSN. Check your PSN privilege!:PUN:

(To be fair, we did get Big Band considerably quickly. Comparatively-speaking of course, if he'd take a month or two to be available, it would still be a major improvement over SCEE's performance with vanilla Skullgirls. Taking low expectations to new heights!)


In all seriousness, these are great news bearing in mind Fukua was originally scheduled as a hors d'oeuvre in the Eliza patch.
I suppose Fuchsia Valentine will be tagging along as well, right? Enjoy that default palette while you can, gentlemen. ...bah! You'll only miss it when it's gone... :(

Sorry if this is known, people were making a big fuss over this so I just started ignoring it at some point...
 
I can't remember the thread but I believe there was some issue with including Fukua as a playable character, but locking her story mode out. I think it had something to do with Sony or Microsoft's policies but for the record; this patch will only include Fukua for the multiplayer and single player arcade mode correct?

I figure when robo-fortune comes out, fukua will be visible

having 14 characters + 1 random choice spot looks good on the 3 column grid of the select screen.

having 13 characters + 1 random choice + OBVIOUS EMPTY SPACE would look pretty weird.

Yes Ken, there are some changes that happened. Most significantly, assist lockout, if you hit an assist they only start healing 2 seconds AFTER the lockout is gone. Argus and Deathcrawl don't give meter to Cock and PW. PW not on CH state when flying. Bug fixes. Snapping an assist locks them for 5 seconds, + the 2 seconds until they start healing. And more stuff... but the bigger ones are these iirc.

She had an actual icon when she was first released, but now she's been given a blank, invisible icon instead to give her a 'secret character' vibe and to separate her from the full budget/canonical characters in the cast.
 
I am looking forward to giving her a spin and seeing if I can work her into a Team.

Will be interesting in now I will have to pay close attention to my opponents teams when I see the Eyes of Filia/Fukua on XBL since unless they are on point I will not know what I am seeing until an assist comes into play.

If it were up to me, I'd put her to the left of Filia, off the grid. She feels kind of appropriate there next to her original counterpart.

The eyeshots are different enough, telling Filia from Fukua shouldn't be too hard.

In reference to Fukua being locked in Story Mode:
We fixed that issue.

Does this imply a joke story mode? (kinda like Squiggly's Marie 300%)
 
Fukua patch is the latest Beta, plus purple Valentine and final (differentiated!) animations for Forever A Clone and some small final tweaks.
It includes snapped-assist lockout time fix (5sec), locked assists not healing until lockout + 2 sec goes by, armored assists still taunting if they are hit but not put into hitstun (they will still be locked out if they are touched at all, even if not put into hitstun), -4f blockstop on Pillar and Updo, Argus/Death Crawl not wrongly building eensy bits of meter for the point character, Painwheel not being in CH state while flying and that odd flying input bug fix, Fortune Cat Spike bug fix, and whatever the heck else I did. Some online hang fixes on console. Credits fixes (having Rich Brown in there, WHOOPS) and contributor credits fixes.
It'll also be made the Real Game on PC when console comes out.

As for where Fukua is or will eventually be, that time in Brady's build was because Eliza was 11th and Fukua was 12th, but Eliza was skipped if she didn't exist so Fukua went into that spot but Eliza stole it if she existed. Fukua is now 11th so she's still next to Big Band even if Eliza is present. She'll move around to maintain symmetry, as will everyone else. :^P Likely in the final build the bottom row will be BB/Fukua/Eliza.
In the new build her portrait appears if you scroll over her or have her on a team, though, like XSF Akuma. It does not appear if the other person picks her in Ranked. (^.^)
 
Oh, missed one - added code to specifically FORCE palettes 1-6, 11-13, and 19-and-up to be considered unlocked if you own a given character.
This should HOPEFULLY fix the XBox problem once and for all.
(Owning specific color DLC already forces 7-10 / 14-17 and owning everyone's colors forces 18 for everyone.)
It may not fix stage unlocks, but those should damn well be unlocked if you clear the requirement for unlocking them...
