UPDATE 3/20: DLC prices for Squigly and Color Bundle have been corrected as of now.

Just over a month after Skullgirls Encore was released on the North American PSN, the game has now finally appeared on the European Playstation Network! In addition to the new version of the game, Squigly is now also available to download.

Encore is priced at €14.99, however, if you already purchased the original Skullgirls you will be entitled to a free copy of Encore. You can read more about how to redeem your free download here.

Alongside Encore, two pieces of DLC are also available to purchase, however there has been a mistake with their listing on PSN. Currently both Squigly, the first DLC character for the game, and the Character Color Bundle cost €4.99 each. This is a mistake. The DLC is supposed to cost €0.00 for a limited time before their prices are raised. LabZero is trying to get this fixed as soon as possible. You might want to hold off on downloading the DLC until the price has been corrected. This article will be updated as soon as those prices are!
The prices have been fixed. Squigly's price is now €0.00 for three months and the Character Color Bundle is €0.00 for one month.

Encore is a massively enhanced version of the original Skullgirls. It includes new stages and colors for the entire cast, a new take on the Infinite Prevention System and the new Drama "Undizzy" system that combine to drastically shorten combos, a hugely expanded Training Mode, extensive balance tweaks across the entire roster, whole new game modes like Typing of the Skullgirls and Online Training, plus dozens of other additions which you can read about in their entirety on Skullgirls.com!

You should note that while Encore is an update to the original Skullgirls, it is not a downloadable patch. It is a full, standalone game that replaces the original Skullgirls on the PSN store, which was removed several months ago. The reason for this removal was Lab Zero and Autumn Games severing their relationship with their publishers Konami, which was one of the causes of the numerous delays Skullgirls has suffered. As this is a new title, if you own the original Skullgirls you will now have two versions of the game on your system. This of course means you can now earn twice as many trophies for Skullgirls if you want to max out both versions of the game!

€14.99 would make SG more expensive in Europe than in US.

France is the European country the most expensive in videogames. Yay.
Really? I thought it was Estonia. I always order PS3 games from Amazon UK rather than buy local.

I saw an article stating that, but I don't remember if it was for Western Europe only.
A lot of French buy their games on UK sites like play.com but of course the government figured it out so they make you pay VAT more often (because play.com ships from an island that is not in the EU) One time I even had my game (Blur) getting stolen by the doll, yay.

In France it is common to see highly expected AAA titles staying at 70€ or even more for a long time.
We also have this rule : 1 USD = 1€. And even before getting the €uro that made life cost 6,56 times more expensive, I remember buying crappy N64 games like Mission Impossible for 550 francs, which would have been 84€ today.

Ravidrath has pointed out that SCEE has fixed the DLC pricing.
I have just confirmed it. Squigly and Color Pack are now free of charge on the EU PSN Store.

Yay! A new character for me to be terrible with. \õ/

It's pretty much the same deal here in Portugal...only that some games don't even make it here. -_-"
I don't buy games "locally" anymore. Weird how games that come from the UK and whatnot somehow manage to be cheaper.
And yeah, I've had a very nasty import experience as well. Basically, anything that comes out of European space gets taxed HARD.

Bottom line, it is as you so eloquently put it: 1 USD = 1€

Woah, Europe first, and PSN? total confusion.
