Hello!

November 7th and 8th, me and my BFF Coolcab are doing a 24 hour* charity stream as part of Extra Life, raising money for Boston Children's Hospital. As part of the marathon, we're hosting an online Skullgirls tournament, a small online affair that we're calling the "Skullgirls World Championship Which Legally Decides All Ranking Forever".

The prize for winning this tournament will be $50, donated to Boston Children's Hospital, towards whatever donation incentive the tournament winner decides. Here are our great donation incentives:
-Change my name on steam - this is a running incentive, anyone can donate towards this but they need to beat the last donation for it (so if you pick this the next person will have to donate $51 or more to change my name again) (NOTE: please no names that are racist or contain racist humor, this is for charity yall please use good judgment)
-Change Coolcab's name - same deal
-Coolcab has to be nice to me for 50 minutes (please pick this one)
-Viewer's Choice game - whatever game has the largest total by the end of the marathon will be the last game we play, has to be something we both own obv
-Save the animals/kill the animals - we're not playing Super Metroid in the marathon so donations toward this are a complete waste, but you can still do it if you want
coolcab says he will not save ANY animals under any circumstances, except for later

Also a donation of any amount enters you into the raffle. Coolcab will be giving away Steam games on Sunday so that's another reason to contribute to this cause (in addition to like, sick kids, etc)

Coolcab should require no introduction to anyone active in the Skullgirls community, but if for some reason you don't know about this living legend, here's the quick rundown. Coolcab:
-does not play Skullgirls
-does not know anything about Skullgirls
-does not find fighting games very interesting
-thinks people who play Skullgirls are all gross perverts
-will be commentating the entire tournament

Here's the rules for the tournament:
-32 entrant cap
-double elimination
-2/3 until top 8
-3/5 in top 8
-Loser can change teams between games, winner must play the same team in the same order with the same assists
-up to 8 players will be hand seeded based on past tournament results, everyone else will be random seeds

The tournament will be taking place November 7th at 2pm eastern time. If you're interested please sign up in the thread. It's a while from the date of this post, so please only sign up if you are reasonably sure you will be available on this day at this time.

I'll be working for most of this so I can't enter, but everyone should watch this if they can. Coolcab (along with Sparkletoots / Mangoman) is the coolest guy in the SGC and he doesn't even play SG.

He also has a very nice body compared to peanuts.

If this wasn't the date of our local monthly I'd so be in there. Unfortunately it is. I'll be sure to throw some money toward the charity cause though!

Hey guys. Some updates to this.

Next item. After talking this over with Coolcab, in addition to making a $50 donation in the name of the tournament winner, I will also make a $50 donation in the name of a random other person who enters and plays in the tournament. I already put in both donations so you'll see those on the page already. Again this would enter you into the raffle and also give you the right to change my name to something stupid or any of those other incentives in the first post. So now even if you enter and go 0-2 or whatever you can potentially still get something out of it.

We have worked out the raffle structure a bit more. Any level of donation still enters you into the raffle as previously stated. However larger donations now enter you MORE into the raffle. Basically every $5 you donate gets you one raffle ticket, so the more you donate the better your odds are. So $50 donation from winning the tournament would get you 10 tickets, same with the $50 donation for a random person.

The raffle prizes are: (edit: all these are Steam games)
-Grand Theft Auto 5
-Nuclear Throne
-Castle Crashers
-Castle Crashers again (I have 2 of them)

Lastly I just want to point something out because this game up a lot last year:

Why can't I donate less than $15?

You can actually the Extra Life people just make it confusing for no reason. The option to pick an amount to donate is at the very bottom, instead of at the top where it should be. I made a helpful image so you can see what's up:

Just to clarify, the raffle prizes are all Steam games. I'm assuming this is ok with everyone since you sort of need to have Steam in order to play in the tournament in the first place, but I just want to be clear.
 
If love to sign up...but I know I'll be crushes and will probably have something come up (something always does). But I'll be there to support for charity XP

Nope, the tournament is free to enter.
