Smite is this cool MOBA game. much like the other games in the genre it features playing as people fighting minions and other minions destroying towers. but unlike those games this game takes place in THE THIRD PERSON. also it features gods from other mythologies as champions. so yah I made this thread to discuss it and raise awareness.
 
So I'm resurrecting this because I noticed @zanestat had a smite avatar so maybe we might have enough people to get some sort of conversation going.
IGN is Manhorse if any of you ever wanted to make fun of how shitty I am.

Oh cool beans, I did not know this existed, my IGN is Zanestat (Creative right?)
Some small bio about my smite lyfe I guess.
My main role is jungle and evidently by my pic I love Nemesis, she is my only diamond at the moment. I like playing Support and Solo, not support as much because I get yelled at for getting mid camps...
I guess my favorite gods are: Nemesis, Ymir, Chaac, and Baka.
If any of you play solo or jungle try Baka solo, it is stupidly easy, I love it. As for jungle, jungle Ymir and jungle Goobis are huge trolls.


Edit: I am getting a Laptop this week, but I won't be playing much because of finals and stuff...
 
wow I forgot I even made this thread, I havnt played in forever and finals are this week but I would like to try and play again when im done with it (i dont even remember my ign)
 
I play Solo, support when I need to fill and occasionally jungle, and I use pretty much every god that's decent in solo at least sometimes but my favorites are Chang'e, Kali, Cabraken and Zhong Qui. For support I like Athena, Athena, Bacchus and Athena and for jungle I like Freya, Kali, and sometimes Hun Batz although new Ao Kuang is quickly moving his way up there.

Hey no worries. The good news is that there have been like... 8? 9? new gods since you made this thread. Plus like 5 remakes. This game updates so often, it's crazy.

haven't played in awhile but i did enjoy this game. I like playing mages mostly, Scylla, Nu Wa, and He Bo i liked a lot.
 
Been wanting to play, but I'm 100% certain I can't play it on this computer.
If I ever get a better one I will play it though
And get the full god set while I;m at it.
 
I've been wanting to play this game but I've never had a group of people to play with to teach me the ropes. I'd also need to redownload it. I did really like the game though~
 
I played it,redownloaded it recently and LOVE playing as Scylla. My main role is Feeder MID, But because I'm still kinda new I'd rather have some assistance to back me up because of my lack of experience with other gods and the fact that I may overextend for a kill.
 
I'm just waiting for them to make Loki less dumb.

When I buy the full god pack I might invest in some skins.
I like that a large portion of the skins are never recolors and almost always have new lines too.
It's almost nothing but Legendary Tier skins

If you think loki is a problem, you have not fought a good serqet... That stuff is scary.
 
Patches are Tuesday usually, unless they need to fix something, then it is Wednesday. In the patch that Ao Kuang nerf was juicy, that god was broken.
 
so, I like league and also want to try out SMITE when I eventually get a gaming laptop.
I kinda like ADCs and mages. who all would you recommend for a first timer?

You get ra and neith with new accounts and they're both easy and pretty good. Ra is top tier in mid and solo and neith is a good adc, not quite top tier but good enough to do well in ranked if you like her. For other easy gods, apollo is arguably the best adc in the game and he's pretty easy, Janus takes a little getting used to but he's not super hard and he's a top tier mid, and aphrodite is another easy top tier solo. If you want to try jungle or support, pick up fenrir or ymir respectively but neither of them are very competitive.

The other thing you need to know is that tanks are supports and that the map isn't symmetrical so you never say left/right before you get in the game (solo is fire giant side and duo is gold fury side) and everyone will hate you if you call them top/bottom.

As Horseman as covered pretty much what you asked I want to point out some things that you do in league, but not Smite.
1.Freezing lane is not as relevant anymore since if a minion gets hit by a tower you will lose the last hit bonus.
2. In the beginning jungling you can sustain on your own. So you will end up in the solo lane to leech farm until you are about level 3-4. And the equivalent to Smite is Hand of the Gods.
3. Flash is not even remotely close to being good in Smite, you will be getting many different actives like Hand of the gods, Sprint, and beads. (Which negate CC for a limited time)

If I think of more I will most more. Hope this helps
 
Also, for builds http://tiermonster.com/ is usually pretty accurate. They don't give any counter build options or actives though which kind of sucks. Thankfully active choices aren't usually that hard, Hunter ADC's almost always take greater sprint and beads, mid mages almost always take greater aegis and beads. Solo is another role that mages are good in but it depends super heavily on counter-building so they don't really have any "typical actives."
(Actually at least one mage is viable in every role besides support now that I think about it. Freya is a competitive jungler AND adc.)
 
So I've been practicing my Scylla lately and lo and behold, already at character mastery 3. So to celebrate I decided to unlock a new character, Hades, and try to level him up.

...He's really weak.

Maybe its because I moved from a cannon to a glacier, but I have no idea how to use this guy. Tips?

Hades just isn't that good tbh. All I can say is that spear of the magus is very good on him, and that it's essential that you use his ult VERY CAREFULLY. If you use it against gods with an escape it's a waste, if you hit a bunch of gods with it and you don't come in with a plan to have a team mate help kill them all you're going to die. He's also got ares disease where he gets countered hard by beads so it's a good idea to grab CD.

TBH though if you want a magical bruiser Ymir and Ares are better IMO.

Anyways, for anyone who doesn't know, Smite is on Steam now. Now you can track how many hours you've wasted.

I used to be really into MOBAs but I stopped playing them for other games. I've spent so much money on LoL it is insane. Smite is quickly becoming my favorite MOBA, though- at first I thought I wouldn't like the 3rd-person, but it actually works very well.
 
I lost interest in the game for the most part, but short lane Cabrakan w/ Polynomicon is still hilarious as shit though.
 
I've gotten much better at this game! Im mainly work as a Mid Scylla (FUN TIME) or a Gaurdian as Sobek or Khepri. There's something about dragging your opponents for your partner to snipe off that feels like genuine teamwork.

I am trying to learn how to use more than 3 gods though. Anyone mind teaching me how to Jungle or perform other roles besides Guardian and Mid?
 
I used to play this game with Isis as my main. Played all the way back during beta. I tried to get on the Steam version, but my account doesn't seem to exist anymore, so I'm trying to work that out. I don't want to lose my beta player banner I got after the game left open beta. D:
 
I play support mostly with Athena (I also try to use Chang' e as support, much more fun then playing her as a mage). Other then that, I play Artemis. Currently trying to buy Nemesis for an assassin. I hate jungling though, so that will be interesting.
 
I play a lot of LoL and am looking into possibly getting back into Smite. I haven't been able to recover my old account yet...but I might still just start up the new file I guess. I dunno, I don't want to lose that progress, but I'm not getting anywhere in getting my old file back D:
 
Oh, seems like SMITE is now on Steam. That's sure to attract a few new bloods over. Hopefully I might buddy up my Khepri with some members of this chat some day.

How exactly did you lose it? Did you forget your password or email or..?
 
Idk what happened. I tried to log in, but its been years. I've gone to reset my password via putting in my email to get my username. Tried all 3 emails it could be under and only one got a hit. Upon logging into that one, it says I never played Smite. I'm wondering if I put in the wrong email but I'm at the point where I may just give up and start over anyways since its been years.
 
Would anyone be interested in a SH clan/playing games in a group, by the way?
 
I would. I've given up and am just going to go with my new account. Was given a bunch of free gems since I got a curse account anyways.

I used to play a bit, then stopped. Now that it's on steam I've been playing smite again. In game name is OdorBlkrBdyWsh. At least I think that's it, one of the things that made me upset was that in game names have to be shorter than account names for some reason, so instead of being OdorBlockerBodyWash I had to mangle the heck out of it.
