Street Fighter 4

^ Can I ban this dude? Pretty sure being a laggy scumbag gimmick-monster is in the rules somewhere. :^P

Low Ti3r God is a fraud.
Smug Pie bodied LTG 7-0.

Another game adopted the driver so hopefully this is gonna be a domino effect after MKX and now USFIV caved.

I mean, it was certainly adopted, but . . .

Great. It's the exact same as MKX

It won't be that way on 2nd Encore, right? I mean yeah it works but it was such a hassle on MKX my friend damn near threw a hissy fit when I insisted on playing with my Horipad and it wouldn't immediately work right. I had patience and knew I would figure it out, he... did not.

Thinks it's an issue with the way drivers work in PS4. If I'm not mistaken, but I probably am, the way SG implements it is different, just outright considering a full PS controller while IN the game, while other games like MKX requires the PS4 pad to be synced with the controller slot # in order for a legacy controller to work for that character slot. So basically, SG considers players IN GAME an not based on who is plugged in as player 1 or 2 for the PS4, but others implement it without as much thought. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I'm probably WAAAAAY off.

Couldn't help but lol when EVO announced that they were going back to 360 for USFIV, especially after they spent so much time trying to convince everyone it'd be the best version and that it was definitely absolutely totally the right choice to go with PS4.

I may be wrong on this, but isn't the PS3 version of USFIV the one with the least delay and all that? I dunno, doesn't seem like a lot of fighters are really at there best on Microsoft consoles, eh? XD

no, Xbox has no delay or at the very least the least amount of delay

Oh, I guess I just sort of assume the Xbox version is always the worst. My bad.

Yes, you are.

The driver itself doesn't care about anything else - not profiles, not DS4s, not the alignment of the sun and the moon...nothing.
If you plug in a device it can identify, it will report the state of that device's inputs to the game code when the code asks for it. Period.
It is entirely up to the developer when and how they use that input state. There may be TRCs that apply, but none of that behavior is driver specific.

Just throwing it out there, but they recently revealed all of the Halloween costumes and most of them are pretty sick, though a lot feel like they didn't really try that hard (Dee Jay, Balrog even though his looks cool)
personal faves are Sakura (really makes me wanna play her just for the spoopy costume), Hakan (I say Turkish Hades rules), Dan (the costume price struggle is real for him, but perfect for me), Rose (she finally has a costume I like), Rolento (he looks fuckin NICE) and Blanka (perfect costume choice)
honorable mentions are Zangief and Balrog

Won't really blame'em... If you started with Super, you need almost the full price of the game to get everything. Add the fact that these costumes bring no sound effects, scenarios, musics, gallery, game modes, game effects or anything like that, and 20 bucks is a tad steep

20 bucks for a costume for all characters is a good deal though imo. 5 dollars to get everything seems like it's too little for the devs to get any money.

I doubt making 44 new textures based on old models costs a 1/3rd of a production of an AAA fighting game.

The very reason I never buy those is because of the very skewed worth-to-price ration with all those DLC. If it was 5$ I would actually buy it immidietly (have I not stopped playing the game).

i regret spending R$ 90,00 on USF4 (something around 20 USD right now, at the time that i bought something around 30 ~40 USD), even if i had money i wouldn't use on this.

well, if you don't want all of the costumes, you don't have to buy them.

it could be 5 dollars individually for each costume.
or do it like DOA costumes.

Yeah, if they did $3-5 to buy a single costume instead of forcing us to buy in bulk or in packs where you only want 1 costume out of 5 or 6, it would be perfect

As it stands, i'd already have to get the entire set anyway because the separate costumes I would use/like are spread out across all the packs regardless
;_;

well, again, it's aesthetics.
DLC aesthetics is fine and again, this isn't bad compared to egregious stuff I've seen.

SF4 seems to be fine with the costumes.
again, it's not like they're characters. it's costumes. you don't have to buy them.

Which still doesn't change the fact that the price is shit.

I would love almost all and any DLC if devs just stopped attaching ridiculous price tags to them.

Just look at Witcher 3. A 10 hour campaign (if you hurry it), with same functionality as the full game, for 10€. Now THAT'S a DLC. I pre-ordered that shit and payed only 8€ thanks to that. PRE-ORDERED. I will burn in hell for it but I ain't regretting it.

then if you don't like it, no one is forcing you to buy it.
I think the 20 dollar pack is a good deal, since it gives you all the costumes priced at less than 50 cents apiece, compared to buying the individual packs, and when getting all the packs individually will run you 36 dollars, at 80 cents apiece, and individual costumes per pack can run you at 80 cents to a dollar depending on the pack.

a DLC campaign is not the same thing as a pack of costumes.
that's comparing apples to oranges.
sure they're fruit, but that doesn't mean they're exactly the same thing.

No, it's comparing a hamburger for 20$ vs a full high class meal for 10$. Some people might like hamburgers more than a full dinner at a fancy restaurant, but I doubt any of them would say, with a clear conscience, that hamburger is a 100% better deal.

I mean are you seriously suggesting some people can find a set of costumes to be better than something that actually adds to the gameplay and for a lesser price, because of their tastes?

They even had to make new models and textures for the DLC campaign. So Witcher DLC did the same and then WAY more for a lower price.

And no one is forcing me to buy it, but I still can complain on shitty DLC practices, cause I don't want there to be more. I'd preffer devs to make something good I could actually use, instead of wasting time and resources on something bad and then ask too much money for it.

a better use of your analogy would be 20 dollars for several hamburgers compared to a 10 dollar full meal.
both can have justified prices.

I never said once that costumes were better than a DLC campaign. I mean, some people prefer fighting games over other game types, and some can find more value in one thing than the other. it's all personal taste. apples to oranges refers to comparing two things as the exact same thing, when in fact they're not. neither has more value than the other.

A hamburger for 20$

Haha, good point. It's been a long morning.

I guess I should say something like, "I'm getting sick of E.Ryu already".

Or you play as E.Ryu, or you hate E.Ryu.

There isn't another option.

I hate e.ryu. =P

The Krusty Krab you fucking fraud

I wasn't referring to the restaurant, the sandwich itself.

Except, how I pointed out above, 20$ for a set of textures, when I can have a full AAA game for 60$ or a 10+ hour DLC experience for 10$, is not a justified price. That's why it's gonna be one burger, not several.

Except a whole campaign DOES have more value than a set of new textures and models and type of game makes no difference here. Even a baby can see "hey this actually gives me something to play with instead of just looking nice, AND it gives me something to look nice AND for less money" (cause there are some nice armor sets in Witcher DLC). People may not want to play Witcher 3 but they would have to be wilfully ignorant saying that in any circumstances USFIV costumes have even nearly same value.

I mean, with that logic we might as well say that these 44 costumes have as much value as 4-5 full fighting game characters. And look how much hype USFIV or SSFIV AE brought compared to this. And for 15$, not 20$.

That's why Apples and Oranges analogy has no place here.

Dafuq you been eating at? A Krabby Patty?

Hey if people can sell textures for the same price as some pretty badass games charge then apparently this is OK too. :P
