Now that's something i certainly didn't expect! At the end of 2014, Neo Team FK released a new version of Super Cosplay wars ultra(version infinity), adding new characters stage and other things. The last version dated from 5 years ago!
You may know Neo Team FK from their fighter 'Chaos code', but before doing that they did a few others fighters as freeware : Fighter Kyotodai and then SCWU, and SCWU is clearly their wildest project! The game is basically Pocket fighter(a fighter featureing chibi version of various capcom characters constantly changing costume with each punch and kick) but taken to the extreme, with each character wearing cosplay costume of different series of games or anime, it's often tun into something very silly like a Resident evil cosplayer suddenly turning into a machinegun-wearing Tofu or somoene cosplaying as both Ryu and Mario at the same time!. The first version date from 2003, so it's weird to still see it updated to this day. The character selection is HUGE and althought there's only a few attack button(punch, kick, throw and dust), the engine is surprisingly solid and the fights can get quite technical, especially against some of the later bosses : the game have LOTs of boss character, and to triumph over the harder(and at first look cheaper) like Alpha and Zenka you really need to master every aspect of the game.
The music is quite catchy but clearly taken from other sources and the presentation may be rough(the game clearly show it's age, i have a hard time getting the fullscreen works right on my latest computer) but it still works thanks to a rather cartoony and goofy design, the silly fun factor is clearly there and it's an excellent way to pass time between more serious fighter match!
And hey, it's free so it's not like you're risking much! Althought Chaos Code have a more solid and refined engine, i had more fun with this game

The site and game are i japanese, but no japanese knowledge is needed to enjoy the game. I just hope you'll have more luck than me with the fullscreen!
