So yeah, the regular Smash thread was getting annoying with all the spoiler boxes.
So if you want to keep up with the kosher and keep out the secret Smash updates, this is a good place to do so.

I wonder if custom stages will come back for the Wii U version

I wonder if custom stages will come back for the Wii U version

I doubt it, considering they haven't said a thing, but who knows. I loved custom stages in Brawl...

Considering how very little we know about the WiiU version at this point,
it's possible.
The Stage Builder was a huge flop in Brawl, but I don't know if Sakurai'd wanna drop the whole thing or try and do it better this time around.

I liked it because it sort've served the same purpose FD-version stages in SSB4 do, where I have some music/visual variety with the same sort of stage.

And it would be very faster with the Wii U pad controller when designing a stage.

I'm pretty sure Sakurai can pull it off.

So far my impressions of Smash Bros 3DS has that it's a game with a reliance on multiplayer aspects.

I think Smash Bros Wii U is going to be the jam-packed with content kind of game.

I actually think the exact opposite, but maybe that's because we know so little about the Wii U version and its potential modes and extra content.

I think both versions will have content, but you're gonna get most of the meat with SSB 4 3DS' multiplayer modes.
We legitimately don't know anything about the Wii U exclusive things, it could have playable boss characters, stage maker, extra guys, or something else.
Really the only thing we do know is that the Wii U version has My Music

We know that it has the same roster as the 3DS version, and I maintain that that does not mean characters added with it.
We also know that it has stages and you can fight on them.

Is there even an event mode in the 3DS version?

Is there even an event mode in the 3DS version?

Sakurai hasn't said anything about it. There is no official confirmation or deconfirmation.
But no there is not.

I think for the Wii U version we'll get:
A fuck load more trophies
Adventure Mode
Event Mode
(maybe) some characters we didn't know about, unlikely.
Stage Maker
After it comes otu well maybe get some news on DLC and if it's happening or not

Welp some one might as well post the PotD here so Spoil free people who are too lazy to look at miiverse can see as what's post up there isn't spoilers I don't think . . . well today's isn't anyway, i guess. Also it's quite relevant for the thread.

"Pic of the day. This is the World Status you can see in Spectator mode. The game isn't released yet so the map looks pretty plain now, but I wonder what it'll look like once it's out? Also, this is where you can see all sorts of stats being tallied up. In Group play and Spectator mode, you can see characters you haven't unlocked yet, so watch out if you don't want to be spoiled."

"Even if you don't want to be spoiled, it might be wise to select the Online option at least once before you start the game. Your Global Smash Power won't appear until the first time you connect to the internet. Not only that, but there could potentially be a patch available that can resolve potential issues, like the one being released now for the Japanese version of the game. For the package version, updates can be pre-downloaded to your system even before you purchase the game, so make sure you look out for them. "

The English demo comes out Sept. 19.
It comes out today for select Club Nintendo Platinum members.

Do you guys think the twitch stream is going to show any new characters.

Do you guys think the twitch stream is going to show any new characters.

There's about 5 hours of stream, I really hope they use at least 5 minutes for a new character trailer!

EDIT: .... I might be corrected though.

There doesn't seem to be an awful lot of cinematic in the stream so far.
So it's hard to say.

Actually a nintendo representative said that wasn't going to happen

...
Some motherfucker lied to us.
There was an article actually saying that wasn't going to happen. What I did to it, I don't know.

I won't say anything, because if you did miss it I'd still label it as spoil territory if you don't know about it (even if it came from an official source), but if you missed Treehouse play through classic mode I feel sorry for you son.

There's an unlock list already, so I guess I'll just post it but without the character you fight, then.

Obviously you can unlock every character just by playing vs matches, the first character is unlocked after 10 and each one takes ten more to unlock.

Beat 100 Man Smash
Beat Classic Mode once
Beat Classic Mode twice
Beat Classic Mode thrice
Beat Classic Mode with Mario
Beat Classic Mode with Bowser on intensity 7.0 or higher.
Beat Classic Mode with Link
Beat Classic Mode with Charizard on intensity 7.0 or higher
Beat Classic Mode with Marth
Beat Classic Mode with Mii Fighters
Beat Classic Mode with Duck Hunt
Beat Classic Mode with Mr. Game and Watch on intensity 7.0 or higher

A lot of those are pretty good unlock methods, all things considered
But beating that shit on Intensity 7.0? Gonna have to earn those characters, huh?

Thank you very much though! This is extremely helpful

"Pic of the day. These two are a haunting pair. You can only attack Gastly using items, but the Ghost has a perfect guard and reflects your attacks. When you see a Ghost, make sure you use your grab. If you're playing with Diddy Kong, his Monkey Flip should work, too."

"Announcement: Originally, the pic of the day was only supposed to continue for about two months, but I've ended up posting pictures until even today. The 3DS version has already been released in Japan, so I would like to talk about how future posts will be handled. First, I will not talk about hidden features until the game is released overseas. On the other hand, I definitely will talk about them after the game is released abroad. In addition, I am planning to continue making posts at least until the Wii U version is released. I haven't decided if I'll go by the Japanese version release or the release of versions abroad, but the point is that I'll continue posting for a little bit longer. Pic of the day won't focus on introducing new information anymore in the near future, but I hope to entertain you with interesting and funny photos like I originally intended to. Thanks."

"Pic of the day. Here's a glimpse of StreetSmash. Make sure to set this up once you get the game. The more fighters you play against at once, the more loot you can earn."

"Pic of the day. We've improved the Fighter Records window to make it easier to browse through. I'm assuming you'll be building up your records fast once you start playing the game."

"Pic of the day. Well, I'd better post some pictures from the Wii U version once in a while, right? We've brought back the Castle Siege stage from Fire Emblem!"

"Most of the games in the Fire Emblem series have a different unique setting and have fields without much height, so it was hard to narrow down what venues to focus on. Castle Siege and Colosseum are two stages that aren't exclusive to specific games in the franchise."

All I need is Power Hungry Fool and the Shadow Dragon Medley back for music and this will automatically be my favorite retro stage. I need my organ and electronic-mixed FD music, dammit!

"Pic of the day. Here are the results for Conquest mode for players in Japan that are playing the Japanese 3DS version. Their next challenge is to battle each other with fighters they've trained up and fighters made of metal!!"

I imagine it's partly because of newcomer fever that Shulk players beat Marth players. Still, he IS really feeling it!

"Pic of the day. Master Hand's glove rips open, and a mysterious substance we're calling the swarm, er, swarms out. The amount of this substance determines the shape of your final opponent, and you will have to launch it away in small clusters at a time. The higher your intensity, the denser the substance will be."
