I recently picked the game up again, and I have to say it's a lot more fun than I remember. Though, it was my first 2D non smash fighter so I didn't understand Input Commands...

What did you guys think of the game? I don't know why, but this game feels more complicated than the MvC series despite it being simplified, just combos and things just seem more complicated due to no OTGs or things like that.

Alex and Batsu have been my two guys as of late.

Also, feel free to share any combos or tips or anything like that as well.

It's personally not quite as fun as UMVC3 to me, but TVC is still the shit
sequel when

Can't help you with Alex/Batsu tho, I main Frank. Soki and V. Joe

Sequel to UMvC3?

Never.
Quick, take the franchise out of online stores. Let's focus on crappy mobile games!

Maybe if Street Fighter V takes off, Capcom will have some money invest in a new Vs. game instead of pouring it all into making Resident Evil into any genre but survival horror.

I played a bit of Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom. Pretty fun, but I hated the giant characters (like Gold Lightan). Playing as or fighting against.

Please for the love of God give me some Frank combos, I try to use him but can only do basic BnBs and have no idea how to do things like dashing over somebody during an air combo, pulling off the Knee Drop, and doing an OTG cart.

Also, hey, cool, first time Mike Z ever said something in one of my threads. I feel special.

Oh, and I play UMvC3 as well, and I have to oddly say, TvC feels more complicated than it does by a mile, with the the limited combo options and Baroque and all of that.

I really like this game and played quite a bit in college (Ippatsuman/Cashern ftw)
One thing I would like to see if they every made a sequel to this would be the variable team sizes that Skullgirls has. 1v2 without using Gold Lightan or the Lost Planet mech would be pretty cool.
UMVC3 = sequel
Maybe it's because I don't have much experience with the vs series, but the two feel very different outside of their control schemes. Also UMVC2 doesn't have Megaman? Volnutt was pretty cool to use.

Can't decide if I like TvC Frank West better than UMVC3 Frank West.

I'd be down for a new Capcom vs game. Although I would like them to vs a new company (Nintendo maybe?) but I would love a Capcom vs Capcom game have all the Capcom series fight themselves.

I'd be down for TvC2. A ton of interesting characters never made it in and I'd love to see improvements made to the combat and online systems.

best version of Roll eva in this game.

also here's me many many moons ago:

and then here's my "famous" When Beams Collide video, which I try to make beams collide in other games (to no avail for MvC3 and Skullgirls..)

Things beyond basic controls that TvC and MvC3 have, which the other Versus-series games do not:
Air tagging during air combos
Hitstun deterioration (other vs games did not have this at all)
Any sort of RC mechanic (Baroque/X-Factor)
Guaranteed combos after sweeps
Multidirectional ground recovery
No real Flying Screen
Wallbounces (yes, really)
Limiting which moves can OTG (this drives me nuts, anything that will reach the downed opponent will OTG in other games)
OTG hits that act like air hits instad of being in a special OTG'd state.
Not losing red health when bringing in another character via methods other than tagging/getting snapped/dying.
and
Tagging in the UMvC3 E3 build was back+assist, as in TvC. (This was later changed because it's a buttass design choice and people understandably complained.)

I'm sure there are more. UMvC3 is basically TvC2 x BlazBlue. It has precious little to do with the earlier Versus games outside of character choice and DHCs existing.

This game is bleugh for me. One of the weaker VS games. At least it has Alex though.

Point, but TVC has giants
And it can have Speed Racer
and Samurai Pizza Cats
I read they directly stated no Samurai Pizza Cats characters.
