Here's the Indivisible campaign page: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/indivisible-an-rpg-by-lab-zero-and-505-games

This thread is for discussing the campaign itself. What do you think it did right? What did it do wrong? What do you want to see from it?
Note: This is not for discussing how to advertise the campaign. This is your thoughts on the actual content of the campaign page itself.

For me I think it's a really solid page with a ton of valuable information, but it feels weirdly static, like nothing I do or contribute to the page actually means anything. I'd like to see some sort of visual feedback showing the progress of the campaign aside from the number climbing in the corner.
A standard ol' progress bar is nice for this, showing when new incarnations or whatever else will unlock. A Hall of Fame or something on the main page to show all the currently revealed incarnations all in one place would be neat too.

These recent streams have been great too! Tons of interesting stuff in all of them. If these animation bootcamp ones in particular can be edited together properly it'll be a really sweet resource to have on the IGG page.

I ran some numbers for comparison. They aren't pretty.

Keep Skullgirls Growing
  • $828,769 by 15,860 people in 1 month, so about $52.26/person and 512 people/day
Bloodstained
  • $5,545,991 by 64,867 people in 1 month, so about $85.50/person and 2,162 people/day
Shovel Knight
  • $311,502 by 14,749 people in 1 month, so about $21.12/person and 492 people/day
Indivisible so far:
  • $242,728 by 3,276 people in 10 days, so about $74.09/person and 328 people/day
Consequently, Indivisible needs:
  • $1.5 million total, which at $74.09/person is 20,246 total backers. So, we need 16,970 new backers, or 566 new people/day.
The amount per backer compared to Skullgirls is really good, probably due to "Pay a dollar, vote for a character" bringing that number down. Bloodstained is crazy amounts of successful, and I don't know how much of that can be emulated. Their banner at the top of the page looks really nice, and they have their promotion streams relatively near to the top of the page. They also had tons of stretch goals, while Indiv's all or nothing. I think the Roti plush and Ajna statue are cooler than Bloodstained's physicals. Then again I'm not a big Castlevania fan, whereas I am a big sucker for toys, statues, and cute things.

I think having the Twitch streams up front could be really handy. (I just confirmed the Youtube vids of the streams are on there; they're on the Updates tab, not Story.) I think getting more of Mike Z talking about game design could also really help, but I don't know how popular that is with people who aren't me. I don't know how much Indiegogo allows for "prettying up" their site, but that could help, too. I do like that Indiv has its world images so readily visible, they look very nice.

I may have made a mistake comparing Indiv to Bloodstained. I'm rather surprised I'd only vaguely heard of Bloodstained, considering how massively successful it was. If Indivisible could "be" Bloodstained for a little over a week, it'd be funded. If only we could, like, drain its life essence to sustain our being or something.

My initial reaction to this thread was to merge it with the megathread as that is the de-facto campaign discussion place, but I'll leave it be for now. What I will ask is that anyone posting in this thread tries to offer something new to say - just like "lol SG dedgaem" posts in other areas of the forum aren't helpful, I'll be removing any posts in this thread that just state what a user's opinion of the likely outcome of the campaign is without any real content. With that said, you should be fine so long as you're attempting to discuss things or post something new that others might find useful/interesting.

Can anybody explain me how does it work. I mean, how can I donate?
Here's the campaign itself. There's a contribute button right above the tiers- enter how much you'd like to donate (read through the tiers and see which one you would like) and then click contribute, and go through everything.

I was talking about what do I need for the donation besides the money...

You need a valid email just to throw in money. Additional location info for the perks if you choose a perk that is.

Getting a little nervous right now. The campaign half over and we still haven't reached even near halfway.

Same to an extent, I feel at one point there could be a sharp increase in funding, but at the same time, I think there should be some back up considering this is a crazy risk. Then again, I'm not the best at economics. Also it make me wonder how flexible 505 Games is with this.

Mike made it very clear that 505 won't be flexible at all because they already did give Lab0 a very good opportunity.

feels great to see all these supporters in here and then also see the pace pick up from the excruciatingly slow pace before Naga Rider

edit: I'm starting to see the big donations coming, we had a 1k donation yesterday and today we had 1K and 2.5k in a short period of time, maybe a consequence of getting closer to the 1/3rd mark?

I'm convinced we can make it.

I need to donate once my paycheck comes in.

I think you need to worry about food man. Damn that's a lot.

I appreciate the concern, @Magma442

I'm putting in as much as I am because my time/money was split between looking for a new place & the SIG fundraiser (which was a success thanks to the mighty SGNation)... LabZero gave me something I'm never gonna forget, so I wanna help them any way I can.

We can (and will) do this!

So I was thinking. So we all know every 50k they reveal another Incarnation. What if the campaign has, somewhere in the page, a sort of stretch goal bar. Except its not really for extra content or anything, but as a way to show all the Incarnations that were revealed and are still hidden. The bar would show all the revealed Incarnations revealed along with their descriptions, and the Incarnations that have yet to be revealed with the misty silhouette that Labzero uses. Because maybe it'd help to have another thing showing progression on the page other than the bar at the top. Idk if we already have one, but having all the Incarnations(Revealed and still hidden) could be good? Hope I explained myself clearly enough.

I like that a lot. I have no particular relevance on how the campaign is structured, but I like it anyway. It would show progress and make people feel like they're contributing something. It'd be like we had a $50K "Reveal Dhar" goal, "stretch goals" every $50K after that, and a $1.5M "stretch goal" of "Actually make the Dharn game."

As long as I'm suggesting impracticalities, a little vid at the end of the demo showing all the Incarnations, one after another, with hidden ones in silhouette (like hidden characters in the Smash Bros intros) would also be cool. Something exciting for "Wait, there could be so much more!" However, this is essentially a cut-scene, a new animation, and probably wildly impractical. And would require updating the Prototype every $50K which, I'd like to be really often.

What if the main page of the campaign had a link to FAQ's? There have surely been enough mistakes and assumptions floating around for one. This could counter the most popular rumors without anyone having to leave IGG.

Or what about the Reddit AMA in a couple of days? Could a link be set up for that?

I would love to donate money, but do I have to use my credit card to fund the game?

You can also use your debit card.
Oh, I see that now. But, I'm not going to use my debit card to fund the game. If I do, that defeats the purpose of my savings, so for the time being, I'll stick with playing the prototype while I tell my friends about it.

By the way, the campaign reaches over 650K, so it's time for an Incarnation reveal.

Darn it! Where is that Incarnation reveal? This wait is starting to waste my time!

Finally donated. With 1 U$ roughly equal to 4 R$ (brazilian currency) it is going to be rough to give a lot.

Wow, the campaign is going at a blazing pace! $1,360.541 has been funded so far! Just a little more! Don't you dare take that money out! And where's the Incarnation reveal at?

Holy Crap, people are funding it like crazy now...

I hope that this doesn't bust at the last minute, not when we're like $200,000 away from the goal.
Although, I am suprised no one gave $20,000 for the top tier prize

As of this posting... $1,403,395

Hot diggity daffodil, this is really happening!

Hmm, I think the Incarnation reveal has been suspended because the backers are focusing on making Indivisible completely funded. It all make sense now! I just don't know why I've been rushing the Incarnation reveals! Just 5% more funding progress to go! Don't choke now!

yeah and if we get it funded like by tonight then for LZ's 12 hour count down stream they will like Show off the New Incarnations there or something. Oh and Booze. Lots a Drinks.

True! Fireworks will come out and the campaign will have the remaining Incarnations revealed in an ignition so I can add them to my collection! I used Bandicam to capture Incarnations to keep track of them. And the booze part sounds promising, though. But I wouldn't want to impose drinking it.
