Like most people I was saddened by the events that led to the Black Egrets sniper Juju to be removed from the list of possible Skullgirls characters. More so, I was bothered by the fact that she was simply just gone with no canonical explanation as to why, and who would fill her roll. Therefore, I decided to come up with my own rendition of these events, just for fun. And so, I present to you The (unofficial) story of how Juju (unofficially) left the Black Egrets, and the man who (unofficially) took her place: A (unofficial) Skullgirls tale.

Juju was a masterful sniper, and was so since the first day she joined the Black Egrets, but she was also easily distracted. One day when out on a mission she spotted a band of break dancing street performers. The last thing any of the other Egrets heard from Juju was her saying over the radio “I’m leaving to pursue my life’s true calling.” And then she was gone

Afterwards, the Egrets searched for Juju for months. During there off time they would pass out fliers with her picture on them saying “Have you seen this sniper?” One day, an Egret gave a flier to a group of kids dancing on a street corner, the very same street performers Juju spotted that faithful day. They said that they had seen her. A short while ago she had approached them out of nowhere and proceeded to blow their minds with her masterful dancing skills. She could flow with the smoothest of grace. She both popped and locked in ways that could bring a tear to your eye. Most importantly, she could robot with the most rigid accuracy. It seemed Juju truly had found her place.

Unfortunately it was not to last, for one day as she was dancing with her newly found crew a song came on the radio. Within that song, Juju heard for the first time the soulful and melodic sounds of an expertly played bluegrass banjo. In awed by its glorious resonance, Juju cried out “I’m leaving to pursue my life’s true calling”, and then ran off, never to be seen by her crew again.

Stunned, moved, and incredibly perplexed by the tale, the Egrets decided it might be best just to leave Juju be. The issue of who would be the Back Egrets sniper however had still not been resolved. For the time being it was decided that they would go back to the man who previously held the position before Juju showed up out of the blue to pursue her life calling of being a military sniper. In his time off he had been intensely training to the point where his body was that of a ripped Adonis. His standard issued Egret uniform was now adorned with spiked armor plates and wrapped in ammo belts filled to the brim with rifle casings. Even his helmet had been modified with a rotating triple lens variable scope over the left eye, and a spiteful glare within the right. This Back Egret, who could only possibly be describe with the words “Bad ass,” who could make even a Gigan tremble at the mere sight of him, is named Toby Lillybell Flowers.

Flowers has tried on multiple occasions to coin a nickname more deserving of his frightful appearance. Names like Deadeye, Deathmounger, and Killshot just to name a few. Unfortunately, none of them ever had much staying power, most likely because saying things like “Take the shot Killshot” doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue too well. Also, most veteran Back Egrets still remember the whiny, pain fearing, kitten loving Flowers from before Juju’s arrival. And thus despite his vicious appearance, he will always be known as Flowers to all of his comrades.

So that’s my story, I hope everyone got some kicks out of it. If anyone else has any ideas of the possible fate of Juju and descriptions of her replacement please feel free to post your thoughts. I’d love to read them. One condition though, please DO NOT post anything unless you are willing to give Lab Zero the rights to use your ideas. I know it’s kind of a long shot that that would happen, but I desperately want to avoid the same fiasco we had with Juju.
Thank you, and goodnight.

I thought up this idea a while back and LAB ZERO CAN FULLY TAKE MY IDEAS AND MY MONEY(once I get more). Seriously, I waive rights of this character and any similar concepts.

I didn't flesh out the character and backstory as much, but I focused on the gameplay mechanics first.

Hanna Elliott (placeholder name)

Instead of having a Chinese Sniper, I thought of a Western themed character. I initially created the character as a male, but decided to stick with a female character. I looked to Jojo Bizarre Adventure's Hol Horse and liked his directional gun play possibilities.

Hanna would have the unique mechanic of richochet set ups. She could freely aim up or down and fire off up to 3 shots from her hand gun and chain into different specials or normals as the shot bounces off a wall and hits the opponent multiple times. While she would utilize handguns, bowie knives, she would still be a sniper.

Specials

Eagle Eye: Shoots horizontally, then immediately shoots either high or low to get the ricochet shot active.

High-risk Ambush: A "teleport" move. Not literally (she's human, not supernatural) Hanna spins with her cloack and kicks up dirt, depending on the button press, she appears on the opposite side of the opponent or above them. Think Gambit's Cajun strike from MvC etc. As she's tumbling in the air, hitting a button either has her strike with her knife, or fire a crazy and stylish shot from her sniper rifle.

Sidewinder Dance: Dashes forth spinning with dual bowie knives. Spins about three times but brings knives upward as a final strike. Think Ralf/Clark's gattling attack from KoF.

Hyper

On Yer Tombstone: In the start up animation, Hanna spins and unfurls her cloak. This kicks up a sizable dustcloud. If the opponent is nearby and caught in it, the move fully begins. The opponent is coughing/dizzy, and a small dirt mound is to their left. Suddenly a targeting reticule appears and then, in rapid succession Hanna unleashes several shots. Before the opponent can fall to the ground, things go into slow motion as the dirt mound collapses and reveals a stack of dynamite. A show immediately hits it, and the opponent is sent skyward.

Just something I thought would be unique and a bit interesting to build upon.

Juju is too busy preparing her presidential campaign to continue serving as the Black Egrets sniper. Once she succeeds and is sworn in as the President of the United States, she will use her executive power to wage individual wars against whoever Parasoul is currently fighting, instead of simpily shooting the enemy with her trademark sniper rifle. This will make Parasoul the sole owner of Skullgirls' most overpowered Lvl 1 Super, and eventually break the metagame.

Once Parasoul stands as the only viable combatant of the entire cast, Juju will assassinate Parasoul, and take the position of the one true Broken Tier Skullgirls character. With this, and her presidency, she will be unstoppable! No Skullgirl, Medici, or Girl of the Stars will be able to stand a chance!

Not so. Said super would take several months to charge while the proposal to go to war with Parasoul's opponent goes through the United States Senate and House of Representatives before it can be finalized by Juju, plus the extra time required to mobilize American troops for engagement.

The fate of the lovable Egret Marksman is certainly unfortunate. But we need to remember that it was her own creator that led to her ruin. Such tragedy. *smirks*

I wonder if Alex is going to make a new character to take Juju's place.

I wonder how good a shot Adam is...

True. Numerous bribes for Issac to use his time manipulation to get the political process moving could help... but even power over time cannot make Congress go quick enough.

Hmm.......

When's Annie?

Face the facts: we don't need her; and Cee was a dirtbag

While I do not necessarily care for the "creator" of Juju, I would have loved to see this character in the game. Sure, we don't "need" her, but beyond like two or three of the Potential DLC Characters people could vote for (by which I mean the ones that will move the story forward), we didn't "need" any of them.

Personally, I really like Juju's design, the concepts behind how she would have fought, and I'm sure there are those besides myself in the Skullgirls Community who would agree. :)

Like me. I liked the ricochet shots and close range fighting with her rifle. For some reason I thought that was really funny. Oh, too close for shots? I'm gonna smack you with my long ass rifle. Really, she sounded pretty great. Too bad things ended the way they did, though. Maybe Aeon can bypass that and bring her back. Or just bring her to Mother's domain to become a goddess so she can pursue her life's dream of becoming omnipotent.

If we had gotten the rights to Juju, she probably would've made it to top 20 or something. She wasn't that amazing.

Still, it would have been nice to have the possibility for her to become a character, regardless of whether she made it or not.

Edit: And she was "that amazing"... to me.
