Toonami Thread

It's Toei Animation. They're known to have terrible pacing and terrible animation. Just look at One Piece, World Trigger, any Sailor Moon Crystal episode, and even Dragon Ball Z(although in the case of DBZ, it was because they were too close to the manga at the time and had to stretch things out).

EDIT: I forgot to add Toriko.

From what I've seen though the Bluray for SM:Crystal is getting a lot of fixes and overall is looking much better. Think they just rushed things out the door for TV and decided after the fact to go back and fix some things up.

that will happen a lot for anime. Madoka had a ton of reworks for it's distributions. have you see the fence?!

they coulda overestimated just how arduous it would be to make a new sailor moon that fits to the manga as much as possible.

that's my guess at least.

The NOT TOONAMI is slowly expanding. Wondering how positive this experiment will end up being. People did ask for earlier times so the least they can do is tune in.

does anyone know if toonami's KLK run will include the OVA epilogue episode?

Looks doubtful.

The end of the series (episode 24) will air July 18, 2015. So look to the 25th to maybe see "episode 25" the OVA. I don't think they will. Even Crunchyroll and Hulu don't have it in their Kill la Kill catalogues. I think they'll keep it a DVD exclusive (comes out April 28).

I don't understand that shtick, so if it's positive they'll move it to an earlier time?

Perhaps. In any case, a broader acceptance of anime can only encourage more support for Toonami and other anime to be imported to Cartoon Network's schedule. I don't think there are many North American channels that show anime. I recall Syfy had "Ani-Monday" (2007-2011)

I'm not so sure. As I recall, when adult swim aired Durarara, didn't it finish up with an OVA episode?

*slaps table*
Hot damn! You're right! Episode 12.5 didn't air in Japan, but it did for the English broadcast. They slid it in like it was normally part of the continuity. Then in Japan, you had to wait like a couple months to see episode 25 too. For Toonami, it aired a week after #24.

I'm kinda surprised Durarara!! x2 Shōu isn't on the schedule Number 13 posted. Earlier this week (March 10) English dubbed episodes of the new season started on Crunchyroll and Hulu. Perhaps the streaming sites forked over more cash than Toonami to show it first?

In any case, the way Durarara!! is dubbing while the Japanese run is still in-progress is cool. They're following Space Dandy's pioneering steps for simultaneous international premieres.

did they add durarara season 1 on the toonami lineup?

They probably don't have the license to air it anymore.

Tonight on KLK, Valentine as Ragyo for like 5 seconds. When is the next Ragyo appearance? Or is that not until after the middle of the series?

I hope all the voices are back from season 1.

Uuhhhhh.
You guys don't remember Durarara being on Adult Swim's anime line-up before Toonami returned?
No?
Just me?
No, I remember.

Anyway, I know Toonami said they aren't an anime block but since they end earlier, and we don't have shows like SBT, it's really starting to feel like it.

yo, I heard rumors that they might add a Gundam series to the lineup.
if that's true, please don't let it be seed or SD gundam force.

Gundam Deez? Does that have anything to do with Gundam Bofa?
You coulda just went along with it.
You coulda just let it happen.

I'll be happy with either 00 or Unicorn.
watch it be Build Fighters... or AGE.

Build Fighters ain't that bad.

I'D BE HAPPY WITH GUNDAM X
BUT THAT'LL NEVER HAPPEN
BECAUSE I CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS

PS I love Build Fighters to death,
I just think it would be funny that we're all suggesting more grown up gundam shows,
and then the hilarity of our expectations being shattered by Toonami choosing Build Fighters.

I wasn't sure what to expect from the most recent KLK dub episode (other than "IT WAS MEEEE~!") but I have to say that JYB should totally get more comedy roles.

His performance was hilarious.

iirc the fans romanticize an abusive relationship so hey there's that
