UNDERTALE; A wacky throwback for EARTHBOUND/MOTHER fans!

I liked Genocide, Its the first time I've witnessed a "evil" route be well made and different. Most of the time you just get a different ending.

If you go back and talk to Asriel in the Ruins after the True Pacifist ending, he talks about Chara (The True Name)/your name, and mentions they hated humanity and really weren't that great, it's implied that part of Chara imprinted on Asriel shortly before he died, and then he became Flowey.
Flowey is essentially WILL without SOUL

So finished a true ending run and have one thing I'm not particularly sure on

So why exactly was flowey/asriel so hellbent on killing everyone and destroying the world? I feel like he mentioned it at some point and I sort of glazed over it.

also the soundtrack was top notch towards the end of the game

In genocide route, Flowey tells you why he is the way he is, besides, Flowey is lacking of a soul which is why he can't feel compassion or anything, however, he can actually feel fear.

If you read certain things in the TRUE LAB You also learn this.
Though, it's more along the lines of learning that Flowey is made from lingering will, but no soul.

She's was the true villain all along

Yeah Alphys is partially responsible for that, it was an experiment essentially.
It's why a certain thing in TRUE LAB resembles a part of Omega Flowey.
I thought it was
Gaster

Alphys only opens the True Lab to show people all the bad things she's done, so no, it's all her
http://undertale.wikia.com/wiki/W._D._Gaster
He *probably* hacked into Alphys Lab and Sans Weapon is a "Gaster Blaster" I think in the neutral ending Flowery may have took Gaster's replacement robot body. So if you did that route... then horray? Gaster's dead?

Man Sans is straight up lying.

The check says that he's the weakest enemy, but then you realize he gives you enough XP to become level 20, which then begs the question "what level is sans really?"

GDI do I really have to walk all the way back to the beginning of the game for that? That's kind of BS for a pretty relevant piece of backstory lol. Would there happen to be some way to quick travel to this?

Being able to walk all the way back to the beginning is a reward, don't you want to see how all the friends and people you talked to along the way are doing?
I walked on foot back to Ruins back, it's really a rewarding experience.

I honestly don't find the charm of this game like everyone else... And yes, I've beaten it Normal and Passive. Only thing I'm remembering from it is

This fucking Sans fight, holy fuck. Only thing I've enjoyed from this game.. that and that fucking kick ass music track that kicks in after he says "here we go."
it just oozes with "This shit just got real..."

Else.. meh..

Normal and passive?
How'd you fight Sans then?

Bro, you can't fight Sans in neutral or pacifist routes.

Dude, Sans is No Mercy only, and are you some kinda robot if you didn't feel much?
It's been a week and I can still quite clearly remember a lot of parts. I can even remember some of the regular encounters.

guys are glossing over the fact that I could be DOING a Genocide run after already doing the first 2? I didn't think I would of had to explain that...

While yeah, above posters should have really figured that out.

See, this is why syntax is important.

"And yes, I've beaten it on Normal and Passive, only thing I'm remembering from it is..."

See, this is why proper nouns are important, is "it" the run, or is "it" the game?

Also, you did BLANK but didn't finish the run? I mean I guess sure you can do that, but did you really turn off the game during the final 5 minutes?

Keep playing though, I heard genocide ending is pretty cruel.

Also, is it okay to just say who we fight in genocide run without spoilers now?

It's been a month, why not? Go for it

Well, i've just finished all the routes, pacifist is fucking awesome, this game is fucking awesome, and while i do regret killing all those awesome characters, i don't regret doing genocide route first, by finishing genocide i got through the hardest part of the game, the biggest challenges it had, so then i could really chill and enjoy the pacifist route (i did a true reset btw, yes, i CAN get over consequences with the knowledge of the AppData folder), and i spent a damn good time interacting with every character one could talk to.

This game's huge and awesome, it really made me feel all kinds of feelings, and i'm glad i didn't neglect myself from any routes, seeing the game's entire contents feels pretty achieving.

Congrats for unlocking all the routes. You are now a Flowey.

Beat both Neutral and Pacifist routes a couple days ago

the neutral final boss kinda messed me up, not gonna lie

But do you have the determination to complete the whole game and do the genocide route?

No. I know what happens on the genocide route and I know I don't have it in me to complete it knowing the consequences. Sometimes you gotta know where to draw the line in the sand.

But he IS the weakest enemy. He's not fighting hard, he's fighting smart. His stats really ARE 1HP, 1ATK, and 1DEF, but he's not just going to stand there and let you kill him - hence the 100% dodge rate. He also knows that his attacks are only going to do 1 damage no matter what, so he ignores invincibility frames so he attacks MUCH more often. He poisons his shots, just to be sure.

"i never understood why people don't start off with their strongest attack." Which is why the fight is so difficult.

He's by FAR the statistically weakest enemy in the game, but he makes up for it with sheer, brutal brilliance.
Also, finished Neutral route today. Was not expecting that. You know what I'm talking about.
Genocide would be next but SO MUCH GRINDING.

I got the neutral and pacifist ending. Asgore was harder for me than the neutral end boss.

I don't think I'll do the genocide route...maybe later I think I would enjoy just running through the pacifist route more.

That's precisely my point.

You NEED xp to give xp, though.

While he is the 'weakest' enemy, where did he get that xp to give you when you kill him in the first place?

Turning your soul blue and flinging it around like a ball attached to cup isn't "fighting smart". That's just power.

At that point on a genocide run, you're not just level 19, you're level 19 and 1 EXP away from getting to level 20. The final boss only gives you that point so he really does give the least amount of EXP out of all the monsters you can kill.

Are you one exp away? I never check my co on a genocide run.

Yep, you are.

Edit: WELL, i've just finished all routes and got all the endings, i'll do as flowey ask me and just leave the game as it is, with everyone in their happy lives, if i ever do use the true reset option, it would be to do another pacifist run.

This, for me, wasn't a game, it was a nice life experience.
