This contest was fun and I really like the winners, we should have another where we have a chance of winning lol, because those submissions blew all the others out the park

The list of honorable mentions for the contest are finally in! These entries did not quite make it into the top 3, but were still all highly thought of by Lab Zero. Also, take note that this is a general consensus from amongst the LZ team at large - each member within the team obviously had their own favorites that may or may not be represented here!

Unfortunately there's no comments to go along with these, but just take it that LZ liked them :P

I don't get why the suits in the game if it isint in top 3. Not that I'm complaining.

Maybe it isn't tied to the contest results since getting in game wasn't a prize.

This is correct. We couldn't guarantee that any of the designs could be added to the game, due to things like an imminent submission deadline, needing to get permission from the costume designers, potential memory issues, etc. And I should remind everyone that this contest was not run by Lab Zero. Lab Zero staff judged the costumes and chose the winners, but it was conceived, organized, and executed by the community.

If being included in the game had been a prize, then we would have had to impose pretty strict design rules, and that would have stifled creativity.

It is coincidence that the winning design was also one that we decided we wanted to include in the game. It could just as easily have been another design that didn't make top 3, as evidenced by the fact that 2 designs not in the top 3 were also included.

wow thats awesome. looking forward to seeing the extra costumes in the game. it was a good call that there were never any promises to get in the game i think that could have been a real shit storm otherwise.

question though. are these already in the console patch that was recently submitted, or will they be added in a future patch?
 
I should have been a little more careful with my wording in the original post on this contest.

When I approached LZ about the possibility of them judging the contest, that was entirely the extent of their involvement I was expecting and that's how we went forward with the contest. The set up, prizes and running of the contest was entirely handled here on SkullHeart.

While Render did mention there was a very remote possibility of some of the entrants being included in the game, it was remote. Render outlined why above. I thought it was in everyone's best interests if I made it very clear to the entrants not to expect their creations to go further than this contest and so I worded the contest extremely firmly:
Your costume will not be appearing in game. This contest is not being run by Lab Zero, however your entries will be judged by the Lab Zero staff.
In hindsight, that should have read something like
"This contest is not being run by Lab Zero, however your entries will be judged by the Lab Zero staff. Winning this contest does not mean your entry will be added to the game."

Small but important difference. Apologies to anyone who feels slighted by this~

Try to enjoy the bonus win poses you're getting though :P

They were included in the patch that was submitted. They aren't in the beta yet, though, so don't start holding random buttons trying to find them. XD

In my defense I gave up once I ran out of color palette combinations.

I would like to point out that the underlined part essentially means that the people whose designs made it into the game already know that they got in.

Because "What scores highly in the contest" and "What fits Eliza well according to LZ" are not necessarily related.

But does eliza wearing double's corpse as a nice dress count as what fits her?
 
A lot of the runner ups are a lot better then second place, it's beyond me how it slipped by amidst this competition.

My personal opinion is I god damn hate when people point out, "That's just your opinion", when they're talking about art and say X is better than Y.
Of course it's only their opinion! Is this something that really needs to be confirmed?

but uh, yeah, out of those costumes I'm pretty glad EricALischka's got a shout out. It's a really weird, impractical design, but it still looks neat.

It's charming, cute, fun, and unique. Sometimes simply having good idea goes a long way.
