As many of you know, a while back EVO organizer Mr.Wizard posted a tweet asking people in the FGC for their ideal tournament lineup. Following that trend, Alex Valle has asked for similar suggestions for SCR 2014, but this time asking for "serious replies only":

Shortly after these tweets, Eventhubs posted a poll to help gauge interest in the various games for SCR 2014:
I think you know what to do guys - let's make some noise and get SG on the roster!

At least you're not required to have a Twitter account. I don't live in USA, but still voted for SG, KOF13, TTT2, GGXX AC+R, BBCP and Killer Instinct 3.

Besides my burning want for more SG, I want P4A and TTT2. My friends say watching Tekken is about as fun as shaving a rabid ox, but I find it very enjoyable.

Voted for Skullgirls. This game really needs some love, I don't see why people hate it so much.
Apparently people at shoryuken.com got sick of people advertising the game as "The savior of fighting games" or something like that.

Also, SFxT still has more votes than Skullgirls. Skullgirls fanbase pls!

So they're upset that the game is actually good and it's pretty damn balanced for the most part? Hmm...

Good luck with this. We need a plug at salty if we hope to do this. Even if we make it I wonder what Valle would do. We seemed to make him pretty mad last scr.

What exactly did we do? I'm actually pretty curious. :c

Edit: nevermind its old drama. Suffice to say there was confusion on both sides. I just hope we can somehow get enough support for this vote and things go smoothly :)

Right now we are right at the middle. Skullgirls is literally the "New Meridian" right now. It needs to be higher though, as well as P4A.

Injustice needs to be lower, right along with SFxT.

Are side tournaments not allowed or something?

Wow Skullgirls was below Street Fighter x Tekken......what's wrong with the world :(

Not just Skullgirls, but also Guilty Gear and Blazblue, who managed to get less votes than SG.

Oh well. At least KOF13 got in.

Calm down.

That was an Unofficial Poll (On a Capcom Fighter Biased Site of all things so big surprise 3D fighters/Anime fighters didn't place high.) where any bloke and their pet dog could vote.

- AE and Mahvel were shoe-ins anyway (lol formalities) regardless of the poll results so there goes two spots already.

- SFxT despite being treated as the red head step-brother (People still sore over "On Disc DLC") of the other two above Capcom fighters by the fgc, still have tourney showing regardless. Blame the combination of brand recognition and how their latest patch made the game at least tolerable to play now.

- KoF XIII and Injustice are two other games that are solid choices due to respectable community support so that is another two.

- Melee is possible despite their stigma due to their decade old active community.

- KI III which no surprise placed high mostly due to the 'curious factor' because that game is going to be the next new thing (GG XRD won't come out for quite awhile) for the fgc despite controversy (Blame XB1 exclusive association), but the reactions lately since people watched/played the builds have been mixed to positive. Have to wait until game comes out until a true verdict can happen though.

That said Skullgirls didn't do half bad placing 9th in the poll considering the rest of competition. Tourney entrants and continuous community support speak louder then poll votes though which is what Valle is most likely considering.

I don't see why a side tourney can't happen though, especially considering the decent turnout in the last one.

Although I recall Mike Z and Valle had some problems with each other over something in the last tourney.

Placing above an upcoming brand-new installment in an existing franchise is pretty awesome, I think, though given the site I wasn't expecting to be in the top 5. Top 10 is respectable IMO, though I hope we did better on the other one.

I'm surprised KI ranks so highly though - I would think the exclusivity and the pay-per-character format would weed out some PS3/PS4/non-Xbox player votes.

Killer Instinct has that AAA marketing hype.

Anyway, would be nice to see this at SCR again. At the time, the Grand Finals of SCR 2013 were among the best Skullgirls matches to date. I only hope people would actually show up though-- I'm a little weary of the tournaments that are 99% Salty Cupcakes regulars!

The problem iirc was that mike had asked scr coordinators if he could run a side tournament, and they said yes, however they never notified valle... Or valle forgot, and thought that mike ran the side tournament behind his back without permission.

Or something to that effect. But the point is that it seemed to be miscommunication on the part of scr, not mike.

Is that what actually happened? I've heard people mention something happened but no one would ever say what it was.

The world may never know ;)

No need to bring that mess up again.

MOVING ON, since I've been hella busy with Big Band, that's actually Valle so go ahead and bother him if you all want SG at SCR, since he's the dude to bother!

Holy crap

They've got like pretty much every fighting game ever made, in the lineup... Good stuff to them... Mo people = mo money = stronger overall fgc which is good for the entire community regardless of game.

Scr is doing it right once again :)

Wish I still lived in SoCal.

Wow they've even got Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs Full Boost in there!

SG lost to SFxTK in what is essentially a popularity poll? Profound sadness.
