How long do you usually spend on a piece? Unless you work way faster than I do I feel like these would take at least ten hours each. Maybe I'm just slow though.

Believe it or not, I use to take days. Whenever I didn't have anything in the way, it would take at least a week or longer for me to finish a piece. Now I can finish something in maybe a day a two if I spend time on it. There is nothing wrong with spending time on a piece. This only means you want it to be as best as you can. However, it is good to retain a certain speed to meet deadlines as well. So when you draw it's always good to time yourself.

Pace yourself, but don't rush the piece. Another tip is not to over work it. When you constantly overwork something and add little nitpicks and whatnot then your image because stale and the visual representation is distracted. I can relate to that. In a way I felt as if the guitar picture with Cerebella was a bit overworked. I might just lightbox the picture and do it again. It does have a ton of errors that bother me. I drew the black dress version to make up for it because it bothered me to much.

But remember, pace yourself, don't rush anything and always try to get a bit faster with each drawing.

Yeah that's fully believable. I just draw for fun really so I don't bother keeping timelines. With my more creative stuff I just put it away until I have an idea of what to add next. The last thing I finished I started six months ago and just added new parts to it every few months when I thought of something good. Other stuff I'll do in a day.

draw chuck norris riding a winged orca leading an army of ninja alpacas on a rainbow out of an erupting vesuvius against an army of lol cats while in the background a rhino and raptor(both wearing sick shades, of course) high five riding jet packs in front of a nuclear blast

Here's a though.

I had prints on my mind, but lately I'm unsure if I want to sell my art as prints. They would be high quality gloss prints. It's just a though, but I dunno if people would want them. Any opinions? Any buyers? (lol)

I would totally buy a print of this and frame it on my wall.

Annual Halloween image. Currently in progress so things will definitely change so don't sell the picture short just yet. After Halloween, I shall have no more distractions and I will officially be caught up with everything. These next coming days are gonna be long.

Have people told you that you're an amazing artist?
because every time I see one of your pictures I get the distinct feeling that not enough people are saying that you're an amazing artist.

Hey everyone, 86d wants to know which print size should I go for? What do you guys want to do and what do you think?

The biggest one they have. Bigger is better. Plus, I'll frame and engrave your name on it and put it up on my wall.

I don't really know much about poster sizes, but I think 11 x 17 is a bit on the small side isn't it? I know it's definitely smaller than the other Skullgirls posters EightySixed currently offers.

Also, is this confirmation that they're turning your art into poster?

The e-mail specifically said prints. I don't know what size because I don't want them to produce anything to small and I'm sure they feel the same way

Oh, I should read more carefully, sorry.
Yeah I think you should go a little bigger but don't take my word for it, ask an artist who is used to making prints.

I don't know. Thats the thing

Hopefully these size descriptions can help make your decision a little easier to choose.

8.5" x 11"
Also known as poster flyers, you can use these prints for announcements or advertisements in areas with limited spaces. School or office circulars are usually printed in this size. They are commonly placed in comfort rooms, on information desks, street posts, and bulletin boards.

11" x 17"
Just slightly bigger than the 8.5" x 11" prints, posters in this size are also used for advertisements or announcements that will be placed in areas with restricted space. Phone booths, community boards and street posts are where you can commonly find them. You can use these if you need to include information or images that the 8.5" x 11" poster cannot handle. Advertising home-based businesses like lemonade stands, garage sales, or selling of baked goodies are among the ways to use an 11" x 17" poster.

18" x 24" and 19" x 27"
If you have a favorite photo that you want to turn into a poster for your room, these two sizes are the best choices. These poster sizes are commonly used for printing photos of celebrities such as sports icons, and music bands or artists. These are also common in clinics and shops.

24" x 36" and 27" x 39"
Considered as the standard large sizes for posters, 24" x 36" and 27x39” are best for outdoor advertising. These are commonly used by marketers to promote their products or services. They are usually placed in high traffic areas such as theaters, cafeterias, and book shops. These posters are usually designed to attract attention using large text and eye-catching graphics. Trade shows and exhibits are also common places for posters in these sizes.

27" x 40"
This is the standard size for movie posters. These are commonly used to announce or advertise an upcoming film. Posters in this size are usually placed in areas that people frequent such as bus stops, phone booths, malls, and theaters.

I'd say go with 24 x 36 prints? Hell, I'd buy a 27 x 40 from you.

EDIT: I went back for a rescan. I wanted a more sharper crisp look. I hope you all like this version better and download it if you want.

I was suppose to post this on Halloween. Since it came and left, there wasn't any point to dress 'em all up.
I'm usually late with this sort of thing.

Credits for this image also go towards, Persona, Kinuko, and LabZero

Yeah when I drew double I just did A RANDOM SKETCH OF HER opening pose which is easy to remember. I did But then I was looking in my files and I came across the ost cover so I just changed it a bit and made it look like that. Wasn't too hard. I will add some credits. I mean SG is copytighted to LZ but I'll edit my post and be more precise in a few secs.

Is Cerebella suppose to be Bulma or Chi Chi?

I don't care what it is, what it looks like, or how much it costs, I will buy any of your content that you can get EightySixed to make. You work some serious magic with the pencil dude, I've never seen anything like it. That being said if anyone knows of any famous artists who were or are exceptionally skilled with the pencil and paper, please feel free to link that to me. A lot of my time on the internet is spent looking at art anyway.

Just a reminder to let people know what I'll be working on so if it seems like I'm dead, I'm not.

Current assignments/commissions in progress:

1. Ms. Fortune and Minette (In progress...)
2. Unknown (Night Phyre pending...) (not started only discussed)
3. Filia and Friend (Anon...) (discussed over facebook. Details still pending)

I honestly cannot wait to see this piece finished, I'm a big Minette fan (although not very vocal about it) and a big Fortune fan too, so getting the 2 in some art by you is the best thing I could ever hope for

Also I was discussing with a friend of mine who can actually draw, unlike myself, and I was trying to tell him still life is a good way forward to get to grips with shading, but he has some sort of strong detest for doing purely photo-realistic stuff, and it seemed to me like you might have done a fair bit of that based on your crazy shading abilities with a pencil.

I showed this thread to him saying you can do realistic shading and still have stylized work and he said it kinda looked like you might've done a ton of still life stuff too, so I was just curious as to whether he and I are right or wrong.
