So, the game just came out recently, and I am having fun with it, but it feels like there's a bit of a learning curve to this game, so I figured a thread to share information and tips wouldn't hurt.

let's have some fun and save the human race on a new planet!

also, I do only have one request, please:

put all story discussions in spoilers.
we don't want to spoil the game for anyone.

Apparently some of the English VA choices are Skullgirls VA but since the boob slider was removed I cannot create a Skullgirls character.

open the menu
look on the bottom
it'll say something like Weather: Clear or Weather: Rain

if you want a specific weather type or to change it quickly, just quick jump

no, I mean checking what future forcasts will be.

I'm doing the mission where you fight a lake creature during the rain and I'd like to know when that would be.

also, how do I quick jump?

use the frontiernav
it's quick travel
also there's no way to predict the weather, there's no forecast. just quick travel to the same place over and over until you get the weather you want

Enjoying it so far, though neither the story nor combat are grabbing me as much as I had hoped. Both are starting to get a bit more intriguing though.

I kinda feel like the game would be more interesting with action based combat. Feels like you can't really interact with the world enough, despite how big and beautiful it is.

Game feels alot more open than Xenoblade Chronicles, but more complicated. I get the feeling of "Umm... how does *insert member* work again?" when I fight. The TP system is something getting used to, but if you think about it like a party gauge that does arts, then its understandable. Also I MISS HEALERS RIP SHARLA AND RIKI.

I miss Riki in general.

Tatsu's a piece of shit.
That's because Riki actually did things. I'm at least glad that Lin makes fun of him tho.

Was hoping to get it for Christmas, but now I'll have to get it on my own time.
How is it, how long?
Better yet how fucking big is it how much space must i put aside on my Wii U.

get it on disk.

the DLC which helps decrease load times is like close to 10 gigs.

I'm just saying if the disk installation is any indication of the game's length, this is a big fuckin' game.

22 gb for the game via digital, not including the 10 gigs to reduce the load times...

Also, I've heard quest tracking is actually managable now? Are we still able to trade to random civilians to get the items we need instead of having to hunt them down? Also, are a lot of the xenoblade playstyles still available here? I'd like to have my quadra auto in 2 seconds fiora who crits on every other hit and heals for every hit and extra for every crit plz.

Ohhhh! Does it still have the issue of anyone being 3 levels higher than you bieng impossible to hit unless you're dunban? cause that's really annoying. I wanna get to the higher lvls so I can finish a bunch of quests, but fighting things past 83-84 becomes impossible cause 19/20 attacks will miss unless you're melia, who's kinda...yeah...her ai isn't very good at gauging the fight...

grinding does take a while. mostly because battles can take a while.

and the battle system is different since you have two sets of weapons for each class.

other characters in your party will have different weapons too.

Also, can't do the trading to random citizens for stuff. However, you can get reward tickets from the online squad missions that allows you to trade them in for pretty much any enemy drop. Even if you don't actively do them like me, you still seem to get them if other people did. At least that's how its seemed to work so far. I've only done 3-4 yet I have something like 200 tickets already

Granted that's if you can even connect online. If not then you'll just have to gather them the hard way.

Any chance the Shulk Amiibo does anything with the game? Was kinda hoping it would unlock something special like finding the Monado in the game somewhere for example. Even simple voice options would be interesting.

well, Shulk is already one of the customizable voices for your character in the game.

and unfortunately no, the box doesn't seem to give any indication of amiibo support, but if it's any consolation, the weapons you can buy at the bottom of the shops all look Monado versions of those weapon sets. ie. Monado-looking assault rifles, swords, dual blades, etc etc.

I fucking love Lin, she's hilarious and she has little Monado hair clips :P

I can't figure out how ot consistently target specific limbs, which is sad, or check what the abilities on my equipment do. I also can't figure out how to get division spoils D:

I don't totally get all the functions at my disposal, but they seem to have fixed most of the problems I have with the batlte system:
-The guns and weapon switching means your autos are coming out consistently and don't have to wait while skills are on cooldown like it felt in Xenoblade. The weapon switching also lends some extra tension and activity to fights.
-They seem to have removed or reduced Daze and Break. So you can stagger targets and knock them down with topple, but you cna't keep them down literally forever like you could in Xenoblade (Shulk, Dunban, Reyn lategame could keep a target stunned forever with Shulk's Cyclone art and chain attack buffs)
-However, I can't figure out how to revive allies. Their's no prompt as far as I can tell.

I think it could be a time limit thing, or you have to lure the enemy away from them, because Lin got knocked out in a fight and I was able to revive her.

also, I think you need to work with the camera a little in order to target limbs

You need a lot of TP to pull allies back up
I think it's 3000, actually. Same as Overdrive.

I am interested in what Skell fan-fiction is like...
Same. At the same time, I worry about my capacity to handle such things mentally

probably not much considering she's 13.

I now have Tatsu...I now wish to burn things. And given the way the characters have thus progressed...I'm guessing I don't get a nopon character that I can actually use. This makes me sad D:

Characters don't feel that unique design-wise this time around. Like, everything they have can be gained by the player aside from character-specific arts. That's now wholly bad, but coming from the first xenoblade, where each piece of equipment had a unique look for each character and each character had a unique move set, it feels...I dunno...not really shallow...I'm just not used to it yet.

I've been playing since release. If any of you guys are up for Squad Missions. Add me.

NNID = Zeriam

NNID = Solblade44

I occasionally get disconnected from the server and can't always attempt missions due to not being the right level, but I do them when I can. I usually play on the weekends since I'm playing a PS3 game during the week before I go to work.

I really don't like the parts where you need to explore a continent to unlock a chapter. I'm level 20 and I still cant beat the 2 fucking enemies in Noctornia because of their fucking acid. It sucks that they ALWAYS SPAWN TOGETHER AND ARE SEIGHT ENEMYS

But it is as big as DDB's undying love for Annie?
And while we're on it can DDB see why kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch?

Nothing is that large.

I can't see why kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch because I typically try to avoid looking at kids.

Also rate my robot

I certainly hope you guys are being fashionable during this otherworldly adventure.

There should be a little time jump machine thing not too far from that lake in primodia, just keep jumping the time and it will eventually rain. Also be careful, this game can ruin your productivity as a human.

I already got the mission done but thank you.

now I'm stuck constantly trying to get to a spot where I'm not just getting bombarded by hordes of enemies or just 4 stronger ones.

and don't suggest the finderball thing. it leads me to that path so I have to walk ion eggshells just to get anywhere

I've owned the game for 5 days, I'm 40 hours in.

I've worked full days these past 5 days, yesterday I was outside since like 11 am and didn't come home until 2 am.

I have zero clue how I've done this.

Is Xenoblade just creating hours for me to play it?

Also I took that 15 minute swim to Syvalunm for Frye and it was worth it, totally worth it.

Man that place is pretty.

So to get Hope you have to go Cauldros and I got lost trying to get to it from Sylvanium. So I swam AROUND Sylv and got even more frustrated when I learned that Cauldros was almost entirely surrounded by unclimbable rock face, till I ended up glitching myself up and OVER the wall, fell through it, and landed in a pool of lava, triggered a landmark, and respawned a floor up near a base camp. Twas a beautiful sight.
