The official site's forums are dead as hell, so maybe we can talk about it here?

I don't really know anything about the game, but for $10 on idiegogo, it's worth it even if I end up not liking it! I'm guessing the combo system is more based on links than chains. If anyone here is familiar with it, how does it compare to SFIV?

SF4? Eww... I heard more people compare it to 3rd Strike and some of the older KOF games than SF4. I never played Yatagarasu, though. I would check it out when it comes out and see if I wanna learn it.

Yeah, but the most experience I have in those games is watching other people playing them. ;_; SFIV is a better frame of reference for me.
(No PC port for 3Sonline; KOF looks really hard to get into...)

I have the original and have backed the new one, but I haven't had time to really play the first one yet.

But yeah, Third Strike.

Its coming to ps4, vita(with cross buy and play between those 2 I believe.) And Xbox One.

Released on those platforms under the title "Legend of Raven"

So, the PS4 port is the 1st game or the new one that was crowdfunded and includes GGPO netcode?

KOF's learning curve is overrated. It's just different. When you understand that you have like 3 hours to buffer your inputs, it opens up a new door.

Wonder why they used the KOF '98 font as their logo for that.

That is so backwards I don't know where to start XD

Hm? I couldn't find much information about the game's mechanics, but for the low price, I think it's worth taking a chance. I'm sure I'll like it more than street fighter IV, and I paid a lot more for that game.

I played some of the original and although it's fun the sound is kinda weird. I hope they improve it when the new one comes out.

Isn't Attack on Cataclysm supposed to be coming out in February this year?
I don't think so, they have 3 new characters to make. And I can't find a release date anywhere =S

Wow is this happening? I only played Yatagarasu 4, my favorites were Shimo and Chadha ^^

Now let's see about this new one.

If you donated $10 or more to the Yatagarsu: AoC crowdfunding, you got an Alpha code for Steam! Check your email.

Crow CMV based on the alpha build.

Alpha Hina.

Ayyyyyy they're finally shipping it out on Japanese arcades.
Nothing definite on PC release though, but now they can completely focus on finalizing the PC port.
Also $10+ backers are getting beta keys soon ayyyyyyyyyyy

Oh yeah, I forget about this game sometimes. I need to find some time to play the old version I bought.

I'm curious how their arcade release will fare next to Skullgirls. Mando brought this up on one of his streams, but why haven't they put the Steam version up for Early Access yet? Since there are no weekly events featuring the game right now, seems like they might have already missed a big opportunity to build their audience.

It's nice that they're wrapping up the new characters though. The new English commentary's kinda funny too. From what I heard, James Chen's seemed to fit in pretty well, but Max and UltraDavid's sounded kinda silly. I guess it's just a quirky add-on feature anyway, but it's kinda neat to see those guys in an actual game now.

Holy crap, this is sponsered by Nicalis? The guys who published the many versions of Cave Story? Well color me impressed.

So is the version for PS4 the final one? Also, I've never seen this game available anywhere. It said it was gonna be available by 2014, so is there even a playable version out yet? I keep hearing a buncha good stuff about Yatagarasu, but without tangible links or a downloadable version, it's kinda hard to feed into the hype XD

I think it's supposed to be out on the 12th in JP arcades. Steam still says it isn't out yet, so idk.

The game looks great, but of course, like many indie games, it is an enigma to actually dredge up any information on...

If you're anxious, you can still purchase the previous release on Rice Digital. They might as well put that thing on sale though, because it's really not worth the price compared to what the Steam version offers. There also used to be an old free demo floating around with a couple characters on it, but I don't know how easily you can pull that up anymore.

Anyone know how to set up the online with this game? I tried setting up a lobby with Drewski but with no avail.

Latest rumor is that the steam release will be on June 31. The official announcement should be any day now either way.

well that explains why yatagarasu-ftg has a giant placeholder right now.

No way. I was actually thinking of buying the old version of the game.

I'd definitely wait for a day or two until the main site comes back up to see if there is an official release announcement then.

Hey guys, just wanted to share these posts I found on the steam community discussion for the game (posted 5 days ago):
Dont worry, we wont do a surprise launch and will be giving you all enough heads up to be excited for it as you all have been willing to stay with us for the long haul we want to keep everyone in the loop.

Right now we are updating the website to make it more accessible with character profiles, move lists and other new content. While the Yatagarasu dev team is in crunch to bring Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm to you and will be sitting down with us shortly to share their progress and we will have that info up as soon as we get it.

While I will be engaging you all for suggestions and comments on what communities would be really interested in being apart of what will be happening with Yatagarasu.

Also:
Hey Shiosan, while we really do understand the wait, the devs are working on the pc title, it would be awesome if I could share more with you but right now they want to sharing everything in one shot about whats the current status and were we are at. I think you guys will really like the next update. :)

Yeah, I've been following those threads too. Hopefully not long now, but I was saying that six months ago so...

Ayyyyyy they made an official announcement that aside from GGPO and some campaign perk-related elements, the game is DONE. Ships July 7th, $14.99.

Just came here to post this. I want to do a lot of shouting at the people in charge of how this has been managed in regards to the community, but at least we have a date and a price.

EDIT: Also holy hell what's was with taking down the production server of the website for a basic reskin of the blog, and several weeks later not having even checked all of the views when you make the site go live?

Oh cool so online will be dead when the game launches. Or somebody please tell me they made it less of a hassle...

Meh, maybe the new CMS they wanted didn’t work out and they just reskinned the old one at the last second. Hate to think they more or less forgot they had a website after taking it down.

Definitely good to have any info at this point, especially a release date and price point.

If you aren't sure your shit is going to work, then you use a staging server. I was capable of doing that in highschool.

I've been ranting in the SG AU steam chat, but I'm really, seriously, physically angry about this. The english-facing CM has been atrocious up to now (and from a cursory glance Japanese hasn't been much better, though expectations may be different there) and I've been biting my tongue pretty damn hard because I don't want to seem like I think I know everything (I suck!), but this just added insult to injury for me. There are tons of uglies in SH if you look hard enough that I've never gotten around to dealing with, but nonetheless I still take some pride in delivering a reasonable level of quality in what I do. This? Quality, it is not. Hell, I'd fix the site for free because I actually feel insulted by it - even using the barebones layout of the Japanese site would have been preferable.

The fact that I've been waiting for the game for some time now just makes it all worse. I no longer play SFIV or much SG, and I was looking forward to picking this up as a main game, only to have a very sour taste in my mouth.

EDIT: So the site shows vastly different themes depending on your browser/platform, some of which work (I hadn't fully investigated). Not sure if this is better or worse. If it seems like I'm overreacting to a perfectly functional layout, that's why.
