Yatagarasu / Legend of Raven thread

It doesn’t speak well for them either way. I wasn’t exactly saying they were doing a great job and you wont get much argument from me...

so whatever happened to the PS4/Vita vers?

I haven't been this excited for a game to drop in a while... had some friends over to play last month and it's just what I need. Feels like third strike but with easier combos.

It's being treated as a different game. Attack on Cataclysm has nothing to do with Legend of Raven info. I think things are progressing smoothly, though.

I think it's the same guys that handled cave story publishing and if I recall correctly they can be a bit slow.

ust asked since this is the legend of raven thread not assualt on cataclysm. haven't heard anything about legend of raven since they said it would be out in 2014

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but looking at the Yatagarasu site it seems to say that the PS4/Vita version is an enhanced version of Yatagarsu but doesn't have the content, characters, etc. from the Attack on Cataclysm IGG, is this the case or am I misunderstanding something?

It's an enhanced version of Yatagarasu, not Yatagarasu: Attack on Cataclysm. In Street Fighter terms, it's a better port of Vanilla, while Super is coming to PC.

It's both, hence the slash in the title.

Well, that's really disappointing, good thing I was getting the PC version either way.

I'm pretty hype for it. The gameplay looks pretty slick, though I admittedly have no love for pretty much any of the character design.

There is speculation that the first Yata port is on hold so they can just do the latest version but I have no idea how they came to that idea so take with a grain of salt.

Meh whatever about PS4/Vita unless it has crossplay. Compare how many people even have a Vita and then consider how many people will also want Yatagarasu. Then consider if the development team even has anyone who knows shit about Vita/PS4 development, yeah no.

PC/Arcade is fine. The game isn't hard to run anyway unless you're trying to run it on your TI-86.

or you play only on console

Or you just happen to like having video games on handhelds. What a crazy concept.

how do EITHER of those make the game harder to run

Who are you even talking to?

???

Nobody said it was hard to run in the first place. I brought up the Vita port because I wanted to know if it was receiving the update, when I was told it probably wasn't I said it was a shame but it didn't really matter because I was buying the PC version anyway. Not sure why you think anyone is claiming the game is hard to run.

Interesting, I wasn't expecting that.

I'm getting the game tomorrow. Anyone else? Also feel free to add me :) I'm looking forward to playing Hina or Shimo.

I want to get my own copy because I played it at my buddies house and immediately fell in love with Kotaro's playstyle.

until then casuals only lol

I was going to, but I think I'll pass after all. Not because I think the game is bad, there's just other things I want to be putting time into right now.

Oh yah, this comes out the same day as 2nd Encore...uh...I'll probably end up picking it up, I've had an interest in the game for awhile, but I think the fact its coming out at the same time as SG's hyped 2nd Encore might hurt it initially :/

I'll be picking it up for sure.

I won't be picking up Second Encore tomorrow... PC Master Race :(

I'm picking it up, but I'm probably not going to be worth playing for some time.

so if I backed it, the one I have is the final build? if so, yeesh.

the one I have is the final build
The key you got a week or so ago? Yeah.

yeesh
That rough? Been hearing it's not the most friendly in terms of UI.

I had the alpha a long time ago. The UI is still just as ugly as it was back then, alpha on some text isn't right, makes some weird dark jaggies on the edges. character select music still doesn't loop properly. the game seems fine, but like, damn.

Been trying Yata out. Its fun, I just wish the internet ran a bit better. I'm kinda bad at the game, but looking to learn if anyone ever wants to add/play me :/

Pretty sick game mechanics wise. A lot of decisions that I really like. The UI is terrible but oh well.

Will be practicing and waiting for ggpo, won't bother playing people until it has rollback netcode.

Valle on leveluplive stream said there might be a new online UI coming.

Added @6-Let and @North888 . I've opened my ports yet people still can't join my games. :( Anyone had the same problem?

So who do people like so far and why? I'm playing Shimo because she doesn't have half-circles making it much easier for me to do her moves on the keyboard. I'd also like to play JET later on.

Fuck me i threw money at the kickstarter/igg thing and i wont get to play it on launch cuz im in the philppines visiting fam. Oh well. North feel free to add me

Yeah, the UI needs an updating. And god forbid you have a decent monitor, because my only options are "tiny and properly scaled" or "huge and stretched". There was some hinting that the devs might implement side bars a la GGAC+ which would solve my only major gripe.

Aside from that, wicked fun game.

Anyone should feel free to add me. I'm thinking of picking up Azure.

For some reason it's more of a lobby issue. I can play ranked and do private lobby no problem but the join a public lobby thing is not working out. I had luck with a friend and we were streaming last night too.

the arcade mode is ridiculous. You lose and it rerandomizes the matches. And the online mode, while waiting for ranked in arcade, just kicks you out of it isntead of putting you back in at the start of the match you got pulled out of. It's not very intuitive.

Game's wicked fun and I should feel bad for being this bad at it.

Damn I hope there's tournaments when I move to the US next year. I'm really enjoying this game and learning a lot. And some of my friends were able to pick this game up real quick. The public lobbies are starting to work better and I was able to join a few. Too bad the few that I went to the host were jerks and didn't let me play.

Going my friends and I felt like streaming it. If anyone wants to join me and my friends' lobby, let me know.
