    Forgotten Video Games

Total Distortion was a weird adventure game about creating music videos from a guitar-hell dimension. Then there was Dark Colony that I found in a CD pack once. A really old RTS game that almost nobody ever talks about. Was pretty fun though.

The Humble Bundle: Future Game Makers Must See!

2D games are certainly a lot more fun to write code for. Art-wise, I'm not sure. I don't know any animators who enjoy keyframing work in 2D, unless their studio lets them use Spine/Spriter/Synfig/Toonboom. Music guys don't really care, their field's technical problems are pretty much solved...

    PC Trials and Challenge Mode?

Unless you're willing to play on old emulators (From Masher to Master recommends this if you have a training partner, since the older games had less that had to be known all at once to be a passable player), SG is one of the best to start on. I'd recommend doing the tutorials, the character...

    PC Trials and Challenge Mode?

Politics mostly. Autumn paid to upsell the PS4 copy, its up to Autumn and Sony as to whether PC plebs are allowed to have it.

    Skullgirls PC Beta Updates Discussion

Its weird to think the game is actually "done." Seems easy to forget the crowdfunding success stories actually do have endings, after being updated regularly for so long.

The Humble Bundle: Future Game Makers Must See!

Hmm. I see a lot of steam-exclusive DRMy crap in this bundle (all though since when has humble bundle been anything other than this?) A couple of gems though: Urho3D (an open source engine) has a 2D module that imports Spriter animation rigs, and its the animation format Klei used when they...

    Skrylar's Training Diary

I use a Mayflash stick modified to use Hori parts and a Cthulhu PCB. Kuro buttons don't really have a clicky response though, they have a hair trigger with no resistance which makes accidental inputs VERY easy. Awesome, thanks. I didn't know the stable version had replay support!

    Dormoxx's Diary of Learnings.

He has a nice combo that involves launching someone, doing j.HK to wall bounce, then launching them a second time concluding with a charged A-Train. I think this one requires you to be a little closer to the corner than pure mid-screen but does a nice bit of damage.

    Skrylar's Training Diary

Went on for a few hours as Big Band, and had several dozen pushblocks read as 1-frame attacks which were instantly stuffed, several cases of charged punches failing to go off entirely (not punished during startup frames, outright refusing to start in the first place and doing some OTHER move)...

    Dormoxx's Diary of Learnings.

I'm just curious, how long did you try out Big Band? His and Parasoul controls both share having to do charge moves in the middle of combos.

    Skrylar's Training Diary

Did ten rounds with fenster, then about a dozen rounds in QM. The ups Didn't get completely perfected. Accidental napalm pillars majorly reduced. More successful jump-overs / push blocks to stop Double Assist pushbacks. A neat intentional napalm pillar punish on Big Band / Parasoul. A sweet...

What is Next for Skullgirls After Robo Fortune?

Lab Zero could theoretically buy the IP back, if fans were willing to pay the difference.

    Skrylar's Training Diary

In the TA/Zero-K community, "unit spam" just meant building large amounts of the same unit and someone would usually say to just build counter units. Here it's considered defeatist. Ok. I'll stop referring to it as spam. I may take you all up on that :) Didn't play for a few days, studied...

    Skrylar's Training Diary

At the outset I was kind of hoping someone would do that. I've been flying solo the entire time; none off the adds in lobbies or QM wanted to take the time so I thought I'd post here. People posting "all you want to do is complain" and "waaah" has been extremely off-putting. I appreciate the...

Indivisible: Lab Zero's Action-RPG! (General Discussion)

A good way to picture grind is pouring water in a decorated glass of juice. Most juices aren't 100% concentrates and they taste just fine. Then some business people find out that they can profit more if they stop decorating the glasses and sell Styrofoam cups (e.g. what used to be "secrets"...

    DeFoxSchool

Is this still on Mondays and Thursdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays? The front post says Mondays, but in the middle of the thread it says the times moved.

    Skrylar's Training Diary

Might as well just lock the thread, then. "I listened to what you said, I tried to execute that, and it did not work" is apparently forbidden.

    Skrylar's Training Diary

"Be aggressive" isn't really actionable, sorry. There's no aggression slider on my fightstick.

    Skrylar's Training Diary

Doesn't link when I do it (just tried on QM; round came up, did j.LK, armor flashed, hit j.HP, ate a combo instead.)

    Skrylar's Training Diary

Kind of odd to go on the attitude train then turn around and be presumptuous. Usually those are either Supposed to be PBGC's; I can only reliably pull those off against Diamond Dynamos and some specific Valentine blockstrings, though. I haven't found a better way to execute PBGCs than...
