Game Crashes to Desktop before game enters Character Select.

Hello All,

I've been searching google and these forums, but could not find a remedy for this issue. The game will load to the main menu, but when you attempt to start arcade, training, or multiplayer, the game will crash onto the desktop with no reported errors. Anyone ever experienced this issue?

My machine is on Windows XP, using an AMD 1090t and a EVGA 9600GT.
 
it seems to be fine in other menus, just crashes during training, arcade, and versus. the game sits on a loading screen, and when it looks like it completes it, it just closes and I see my desktop.
