Let's just agree that Naganuma is a musical genius and leave it at that.
Anyway, never got the Dreamcast original of JSR, and haven't played JSRF, but the HD Mix is really fun. Who's a good character to get Jet rankings on for the stages? I really just use Beat, Gum, Piranha or Mew, but I can't seem to ever get the Jet rankings. It doesn't help that I can't go back on any story mission unless I go through and clear the rest of the story again.
