Indivisible: Lab Zero's Action-RPG! (General Discussion)

I wasn't honestly trying to get pitty, just stating my current living situation and problem. When That IGG comes around, I'm going to dedicate my youtube channel's income to it. Even if it's a couple bucks a month. LabZero sits in a special place in my heart and I want to share that by giving it. ^_^

Also I totally forgot to mention that one thing. No grinding is pretty cool but I also like no random loot. Cause screw loot. I really dislike it. Doing crucial equipment management metroidvania-style is much better in my opinion.

Mine too. :^)

I'm okay with random loot for like, "get 10 fluffy otter tails" or whatever, but weapons and stuff? Nah.

Who would cut off an otter's tail?
D=
I don't know. Probably someone who just kills thousands upon thousands creatures (including sentient ones) just for gold and loot >_>

I haven't got shit set up to donate online, If I could give physical money, yeah but I can't take money for online commissions so I have to do it indirectly.
You can just make a paypal account, it doesn't need an associated card.
I too want to make commissions for Indivisible, but I prefer to get the money in my hand first because with more money all together I can get a bigger Indiegogo prize. I'm a simple man :Y

Eh, either way. I want to get as much information as possible.

I'm still gonna do the commission thing because I can at least influence people to tell others about indivisible and possible get people to play it, lmfao.

I'll be doing my "Kit Plays" video review when the Prototype comes around, much like how I did Mighty No. 9 and Beast's Fury. Hopefully people will enjoy my review to donate to the campaign (and the view cash I get to add to the pot)

Maybe I can get something for the IGG. What we needed though was to spread the word to get more people to potentially donate.

So, I have two more questions.
-I don't know how it went for Skullgirls prizes, will shipment be included in physical goodies? Sending stuff here in Europe is very expensive.
-Will you recruit external artists for clean-up of frames? I reeeeally wanna join in

Concerning random loot, Random loot is pretty cool when you have a loot system designed to compliment it like say Borderlands and Diablo but yeah, games that just have a random loot system just because are pretty meh.

Also, on the topic of the CF, my bank account is ready to go and I'm ready to do as much as I can to spread info on the campaign via word of mouth! I'm looking forward to it. SG's CF was super fun to follow ^,^

The way it usually works is that you're asked to donate an extra X amount on top of the cost for the tier to cover the shipping for your country

Oh, in regards to the indiegogo, are you guys gonna do kinda what Bloodstained did, and allow you redeem multiple quantities of a tier? Like say I wanted 2 of the...for sake of example, Ajna fightstick. One for me and one for a friend, would I be able to select that tier, pay double, and redeem it as 2 of that tier later on? Thinking of paying a bit extra as a birthday present for a friend who's been more a stalker around stuff like SG and doesn't have his own source of income. He really wanted to back this, so I'm thinking of maybe paying extra for mine and redeeming a second copy of my reward for him, if that's possible?

I'm fine with random loot in single player RPGs as long as it is for consumable items and not gear upgrades.

Doesn't look like Indivisible is going in that direction anyway.

guys got a rough estimate of the file size? Just wanna know how long I'll be struggling with the download XD

Good question!
It presently zips to around 97MB, so I'd expect it'll be less than 150 no matter what we do from now.

Since people brought up Paypal earlier, here's a question. Has Lab Zero or IGG found a way to prevent Paypal from pulling their infamous Funds Withholding shenanigans?

Supposedly Paypal now claims they've adjusted their policies for working with crowdfunding campaigns, but you'd probably still want to get more direct confirmations from them, just to make sure. I'd be worried about them impulsively going back to their old ways once they see the money start to roll in.

cool. that'll equal out to about an hour or so. I can deal with that wait.. unlike Steam and trying to download Just Cause 2.. almost 2 weeks now *annoyed look*

I haven't been keeping track of this thread but I randomly came in and saw hate for random loot. This is good and makes me want to follow thread more. Anyways random things I don't like/do like about RPGs:

Grinding just to grind. Unless I love the actual battle system, grinding just seems like work to me.
Loot keepers/backpacks/trunks that can only hold a certain amount of loot. Just annoying... Why can't I have a felix the cat style bag? This is a videogame for christs sake.
Ludicrous time spent levelling to get upgrades, not necessarily grinding... Just playing the game and levelling slowly.
Games that don't have much replay value. I can u der stand low replay value in the form of "buy our new game" but I think there's something to be said for certain timed unlockables in the vein of beat level in less than a minute and get a prize or some such. Things like metal gear tactics are fun, for me at least.
I'd like more emphasis on how to build your character and more emphasis on skill based gameplay. Enemies that are hardish to hit and some platform style jumping elements/DKC barrel stage stuff, conversely if that were an actual part of a game, then items to make things easier like spread shot for enemies, or hover for jumps, feels like great rewards for things. And allows players to choose difficulty via weapon or power up use. Most will use the overpowered weapon I think and that will give them a god complex...which I think is what we want to give people playing an entertainment medium... An awesome experience. But making the god experience to rote or obvious kinda takes away from the experience itself by feeling like pandering to shitty playerness... I think it's better to make such things feel like rewards rather than things you get automatically from playing the game.

I'm gonna start calling it the Ech

BUT ERRRRRRRIN~! I LOOOOOOOOOVE YOU!

Wait that's a cut off head with lungs and an intestine tail... is this game going to be rated M? cause that's kinda on the line there.

I doubt it, if I'm correct gore (and violence, too) are counted differently if it is cartoon-y/stylised. For example, when you kill an enemy in Terraria their arms and legs fly everywhere with blood and guts, but it is pixelated so it isn't a problem and is rated T. As long as it isn't realistic or there are lots of it, you don't get an M rating.

i don't know... the ESRB can be really picky over things like this. I mean, an M-rating wouldn't really deter the main fans from buying this game, but for new comers... idk. some people look at the ratings as a factor in buying a game or not.

SO ARE WE JUST NOT GONNA TALK ABOUT THE INTESTINAL STINGER

mmmmh it looks sick. and as in sick i mean i kinda feel uncomfortable having that thing near me during the night. Personally hate anything that has a stinger (had a run in with a ton of wasps once. somehow as a snot nosed brat i managed to piss of a hive of wasps hanging off the storm drain on our roof.)

Well, since Eliza blood can pass trough the rating by not being blood, but red cells, i imagine that monster can pass by not being internal organs, but her actual structure that remembers human organs.

Mike talked about a few pages back, I think on pg40:
The ESRB ratings system is intricate. For example, in Teen you can light someone on fire, but if they scream "Ow ow ow I'm on fire ow!'' then it's Mature. etc etc.
There is a difference between "blood is onscreen" (Ms. Fortune) and "hurting someone causes them to bleed from their injuries".
About the rating:
We're aiming for Teen because we don't WANT the game to HAVE any of the things that Mature signifies. We don't need super blood and gore, nudity, or a huge amount of cursing. Reading anything else into this is weird.

pretty sure this discussion was already answered a couple pages back, but

I'm pretty sure based on the other things said previously LZ is aiming for Teen cause it's a larger market to sell too and something something something someone already beat me to this post.

Also I think you might be forgetting the very cool nice character from Skullgirls (the game rated T) made up entirely out of intestines who is present in backgrounds and story modes. Also theres a girl that breaks her bones in unsettling directions to attack but this is also a discussion that's been had a million billion times.

This. The games that use it just become slot machines. You lose the atmosphere and the strategy and just can't think of anything else but pressing the Skinner Box Button.

Problem is dollar was like 35-40 rubles/$ back then. Now it's 70.

Similar here. Dollar was around R$ 2,50 IIRC. Now it's almost R$ 4,00!

Sorry mike, I'm trying to get a better job and put money where my mouth is, but it takes time!

R?
Brazilian Real, I assume. Both the SA Rand and the Indian Rupee have a much lower rate than that.

Using a comma for money like that and R$ suggests Brazilian Real.

R?
Yeah, like people said, he is talking about the Brazilian money, The R$ and the fact that the dollar is at this rate right now.

We brazilians are f*cked. (and i don't even have a job, i hope my plans work)

Question! (not sure if it's legit though...)
Can you keep explore the world and (re)do stuff after you complete the "Story"?
