these are:
MANKANSHOKU! - Skullgirl Patricia
Lambda - Best Faust Alt.color

if you're wondering about the mako, peacock's color map didn't work out to make it just her normal uniform, so i sorta combined different outfits she had over the series. mainly the 1-star uniform and the 2-star uniform. and i couldn't resist putting in some senketsu eyes because why not.

i got the skullgirl color idea from a neat fan art i saw a while back.

Is this the fanart that inspired the Skullgirl colors?

Either way, I simply love what you did with that palette. I'd be more than tempted to use it as my main Peacock color, were it added to the game.

the skullgirl version is mostly something I thought up. unless there's a fan art of that I don't know about.

more colors! this time its filia.

left: skullgirl filia. idea was based on a fanart posted here. colors are based on an old old OOOOLD filia art by alex. specifically that old storyline page with her holding the hairpin sword.

right: original idea for a mobster filia. some inspiration from most famous criminal mastermind in fighting games: suit-wearing geese howard in art of fighting. sadly though, this color is technically impossible in skullgirls, as filia's color map has much less individual sections than other characters. her hands can't be gloves as her hands are always the same as her face/leg coloring. same with the mid-section.

Hey Zazz, is there any chance you can show me how to use color maps? I've popped in here on a few occasions, and I think I wanna try taking a crack at custom palettes :3

While I get the files ready, I'll tell you how I made them:

Its mostly taking those grayscale animation sprites posted by the artists on various sites and then its whole lot of pixel clean-up

I figure the colors separations off of screenshots I took from Lab Zero's palette streams. Its where I noticed that Filia's color map is really sad compared to those characters.

Ok, I also got a Big Band and a Fortune too, but they're still a bit too messy and need some more fixing up, so here's Peacock, Filia and Painwheel.

Really good stuff all-round. Would "trade" plenty of palettes in the game for a good amount of those, chiefly Skullgirl Peacock, Big Peaband, the Cerentines and Gamabella.

I think Filia Howard should be blond though. Alas, you already pointed her color map is as limited up as it is.

And if you are not familiar with the character, his is a sword-whip so there was more to the suggestion than just "purple" and "mask".

Side note, and I do think it is a genuinely suitable reference palette - Medusa
Her original design included a Gorgon transformation. It could be a nice acknowledgment of that idea.


Anyway, some moons ago someone suggested a French-speaking Eliza voice pack and recently some Wakfu talk surfaced in the Funny stuff topic. Why not kill two stones with one bird and have a General Crazytits Frida Mofette palette?
She seems like such a nice lady. :3

Filia's color map really makes it apparent that she was the first character made. Compare her's to Cerebella's (both are in a gallery of the game) and its a major difference.

top left: some sort of mysterious- ok its just fukua.
top right: original idea i had for some kind of samson powered up version of filia. like he's covering her whole body that's why you can't see any skin.
bottom left: Xrd Millia
bottom right: i had a thought about a sort of robo-filia. but that just sorta turned into this.

seriously though, why isn't this in the game?

Do you have the psd for this available? I'd love to try making palettes with it instead of using the ancient IGG picture.

i made some big bands in an attempt to iron out some stray pixels

left: SUPER FIGHTING ROBOT! MEGA BAND!
right: The Silencer (Crusader). Note that the Crusader games are packed with Robo-cop references. And has a great soundtrack. And hilariously bad FMV cutscenes.

Nope, to my knowledge there have been no high-quality color maps of him released. Yours is probably the best there is.

the closest i could find is a tiny cropped preview image from MajiOMNI's dev-art page.

Pardon for quoting such a old post but as I was updating the fan-made palette archive, couldn't help but realize I still don't have any of these identified. A little assistance is required. Unless, of course, you want to keep them a mystery; tis your prerogative.
 
1 is Billy (KoF), 4 is Lute (Fire Emblem) (With the scythe being part of a healing staff and part of Mogall enemy), 5 is Princia Ramode (F-Zero) (with Spark Moon as the scythe). @SpaceCadetKeon got Hades and Judith correct.

a new version of a color i did a while ago

Rick from Splatterhouse.
Was gonna use the green clothes but that looked too much like the haku color already in the game, so I went with the blue colors from splatterhouse 3. The golden cleaver is from the turbo-grafx version which I still have. I wonder if my tg16 still runs.

Maybe I'll pick up that recent remake of splatterhouse from the gamestop bargain bin one of these days.
