One reason car games attract so many players is that the basic idea is familiar. Accelerate, steer, brake, avoid obstacles, and reach the finish. Even someone playing a driving game for the first time can usually understand the objective within minutes.

At the same time, simple controls don't necessarily mean simple gameplay. Better results often require timing, precise steering, and learning how a particular vehicle behaves.
