Reforming a villain:

I’d like to ask if Cerebella has an backstory in the game of Skullgirls before she joined Cirque des Cartes and Vitale. I’ve seen her story mode and the Main Attraction. I see that people explain why it’s awful and how they dislike it. Her backstory could be a tragedy befall her before being saved by thugs and criminals, somewhere at No Man’s Land.

Another topic is that how will she ever be worthy to be redeemed? The problem with Cerebella is that she has a bond growing between her and the Medici Mafia that’s so bad, she’d be devastated by her actions and she fails to realize the Medici Mafia are a criminal organization, led by the Medici family that raised her. Sadly, she only desires the attention of one man, the mobster Vitale Medici. In fact, she makes lousy decisions with the Mafia in the webtoon story and having a horrible relationship with Eliza.

Maybe she would have a sense of strength and integrity for her real mother who once had Vice Versa since her birth. Rumored she’s likely an heirloom passed down by her biological parents (Her Mother was a blacksmith for living weapons). Cerebella learning how to know better could happen (like Marie’s story mode), going through challenges and make her character more likable. She learn how to respect herself and have true inspiration, being good friends with allies. Giving her challenges to prove she would change. My theoretical redemption arc of Cerebella could be familiar to Paper Mario Vivian.

Let me know what you think:

I think the reason why her Origin Story was like was because the devs at the time didn't want to reveal too much about Cerebella's past in No Man's Land or how she came to join the Circus in the first place, probably due to some concerns about spoiling later plots. But yeah, it was quite poorly received and they learned their lessons and the later Origin Stories were more like how people were expecting.

It was said that Bella was "given" to the Circus, so either she was rescued by someone who know someone in the Circus. Perhaps a relative or some Medici adjacent. Hard to say so we'll just have to wait to find out (in god knows how long).

Yeah the whole point of Cerebella's character is that she is good at heart but has basically been brainwashed to believe the Medici are the good guys. We have already seen in some stories that she is on a path to become more independent and break free of the Medici's control. Unfortunately we haven't seen much of it because we're somehow still in the early stages of the Skullgirls story and it will take Cerebella's a while to complete her hero's journey.
