  • Soon, I'm gonna start my journey to also play Skullgirls on PC as I approach to the point where I get a gaming computer.
I'm sorry for my post on the Beta discussion topic that given me a first warrning. I immediately regret being disappointed about the balance patch not releasing before Combo Breaker. Once again, I am truly sorry about my post there.
Well, the balance patch won't be released before Combo Breaker, and I am a little disappointed that I won't be seeing Star Overdrive into action there. But the good news is that Marie is officially released way before then.
Now that Marie is fully released, I am recording my Skullgirls matches and editing them to play the music from BBTAG on my PlayStation. But I'll wait until the issue is fixed first.
After looking at the specs on my computer I'm using, I have learned that they not good enough to run Skullgirls smoothly, so the best bet is to postpone running my online casual and going full blast on Steam until I get a new high-end computer.

hoping for your sake that you can get a better PC. My PC is older than I am and I can't run any games at 60FPS if I have Discord open lol
I hope we get word about Marie's Alpha soon now that she is released on Mobile. I am eager to not only try her out, but to look at the placement of the character select screen containing the full cast.
Since I heard SGCS is returning in 2024 and it's gonna be bigger than before, the real question is, is it gonna be similar to Capcom Pro-Tour and other circuits to have offline and online tournaments?

While there aren't rules for what you can or can't put in your profile posts, these are the kind of questions that could go in posts in the forum itself. :P You are more likely to get more discussions/engagements that way, and it helps keep the forum active.

But yeah, we won't know for sure until they officially announce it. The reason the previous one was online-only was likely due to lingering Covid restrictions. The new one could be offline or hybrid, but I feel like the SGC is small and there are many players who can't afford the time or expense to travel to various offline venues. If the goal is to get as many players as possible, 100% online is probably better.

Not to mention that the Skullgirls community has declined significantly because of the censorship update that sparked controversy, ticking people off. Seeing the angry comments over that controversial update made me feel uneasy as heck and that's why I had to distance myself from the controversy to keep on supporting the game. I know you are too.
The developers have been too darn quiet here since that progress update. Too quiet. I hope we hear from them soon because we don't want to be left in the dark for so long.

Have you watched all of the Marie teasers and trailers? Maybe that will quench your thirst for active Devs lol.

They already have skins for Second Encore and are still working on them for Mobile.
Now that the Xbox port is available, the devs can now double their efforts on developing Marie. But the update for the Japanese PS4 version is still on the docket.
It's been a couple weeks. When the heck are we gonna get word about the Xbox ports? What about the progress on the update for the Japanese PS4 version?

July 19th?! Holy crap! That's a week away from now! But should you also care about the update for the Japanese PS4 version too? I want that to be completed along with the Xbox port too so that the devs can double their efforts on Marie and the general balance pass.
I wonder if people uninstalling Skullgirls after a bad update is gonna impact running my special online casual?
The Skull Heart has been destroyed, but one shard glows purple and Marie is reborn as a playable character with Orie's colors. This is my new avatar.
I agree with the removal of the arm bands, but censoring some of the art and removing certain art from the gallery is not cool.

But that will not stop me. I must focus on waiting for important things like the Xbox port, the update for the Japanese PS4 version and Marie with the privilege to make an Orie palette out of her and put it on my projects.
Soon, the Skullgirls launch party will truly begin once the Xbox port and the update and the Season 1 Pass for the Japanese PS4 version are released.
After watching that early Marie combo video, in my opinion, Marie is basically an undead version of Orie with a vacuum and her skeletal Stand that shoots lasers like Black Dahlia is basically the Nine the Phantom with an arm gun and smaller breasts.
I always thought that the anime TV series for Skullgirls would be either rated TV-PG LV or TV-14 LV and that would be amazing. But it's gonna be rated TV-14 LV because of a ton of blood I witnessed on that Webtoon episode.
Now that the Switch players have joined the Season 1 Pass period and beyond, we wait for the Xbox players to join so that we can get crossplay. But when Dahlia and Marie are released.
I got my new HDMI cord for my PC to play the PC version of Skullgirls on my new 4K TV to make it feel like I'm playing the PC version on console. But I'm not gonna go full blast just yet until either Black Dahlia is fully released or Marie hits Alpha.
Wow, I just dreamed of watching a Skullgirls cosplay show.

Speaking of Skullgirls in dreams, I randomly dreamed (back then, like around a few years ago) where Feng appears as a playable character in mobile even before Annie was announced.

That's amazing. I had the same dream as you of wanting Feng to be playable a while back, but I also dreamed of wanting both Feng and Minette to be in the game so that Cerebella and Ms. Fortune won't be alone in the roster and the hero and sidekick pair would be complete. We got Annie so Beowulf won't be alone and we got Umbrella so Parasoul won't be alone.
Now that Switch players are getting the update on January 3rd and the Xbox players are getting the new release early next year, I hope crossplay is implemented once they are released.
My journey to also become a Skullgirls PC player begins either after Dahlia enters Beta, after she is fully released or after Marie is fully released. We'll see.
I always thought that Black Dahlia is basically Nine the Phantom, but with small breasts and an arm gun loaded with elemental bullets. That's why I have an avatar of her to show you how she looks in her Nine palette. But it's just a preview because it can change.

    small breasts?

Black Dahlia basically has less tiddy than Nine, who have them big breasts, so yes. I'm supporting her Nine the Phantom palette to make my opinion true and considering her a witch with an arm gun loaded with elemental bullets of fire, ice and lightning.
With 2nd Encore and its Season 1 Pass are being actively developed as an update for the Switch and as a new release on the Xbox One and Series X/S and the Season 1 Pass characters are getting Japanese voices and fully voiced story modes at the end of the Season 1 Pass period, there is one more left on the docket, which is giving the original cast's voice lines specific to Annie.
It's been over a month since the latest Alpha update came out and we STILL haven't gotten any words from the devs! Come on, don't leave us in the freaking dark!
Now that Skullgirls 2nd Encore and the Season 1 Pass are now in active development as an update for the Switch and as a new release for the Xbox One and Series X/S, what we need is crossplay since Them's Fightin' Herds is coming to consoles with crossplay as a cherry on top.
Forgot to announce that along with the first Season 1 Pass characters, Marie is one of the characters that is eligible for a BBTAG palette for my palette pack idea and allowed in my special casual. I'll make her an Orie palette out of her as soon as she is available on the SGM Palette Editor.
Now that Marie is announced as the final Season 1 Pass character, the question is, what will happen to her final boss version once she hits Alpha?
Since Black Dahlia is actually getting an ingame UI element that displays how many bullets she currently have, I'm down to my one piece of feedback, which is giving her three more elemental bullets of water, wind and ice.

Good concept, but im not so sure how water would work tho
I can't wait until EVO so I can find out who is the final Season 1 Pass character is. I'm guessing Marie.

Same here. Hoping for a Season Pass 2 to be announced after the next character is released next year.

We all are. If Marie is announced as the final Season 1 Pass character, I'll probably make a BBTAG palette out of her.
Honestly, in my opinion, Black Dahlia is basically Nine the Phantom with an arm gun and I heard she is getting more ammo types. I bet the new ones are gonna be Water, Earth and Wind, huh?
If Marie is confirmed to be the fourth Season 1 Pass character, I think Aeon should be the bonus fifth character. I totally need more characters to have palettes that depict Under Night In-Birth characters for my palette pack idea anyway.
Galactic Judgment... Even the name of my idea of Annie's lv. 5 Blockbuster Finale sounds very promising as heck.
Man, I am so dying and freaking curious to see what Black Dahlia's sigil looks like now that she is being playable at Combo Breaker. Not to mention the Switch players are finally getting the Season 1 Pass and Xbox players are finally getting the 2nd Encore update as they confirmed that are developing it on the other systems. I hope we get cross-play as a cherry on top.
I am grateful that the devs are working on incredible online improvements. With the large scale UI and networking refactors, I don't doubt that they are gonna fix the online lobby issues that have been lingering for years since lobbies came out on consoles. Hopefully, that should make giving the Xbox players the 2nd Encore update and the Switch players the Season 1 Pass easier.
I am starting to feel the urge to play Skullgirls, but I am afraid that the issue I am having since lobbies are released in consoles might still be there.
