So far I've heard it was a troll attempt by the chans against the LGBTQWFTBRB crazies, but maybe there are some legit ones. I'm pro LGBT in general but that shit doesn't fly; even hardcore crazy SJWs don't want that, and that's saying something.

As much as the chans are getting into it to troll people (and imo there's nothing morally wrong in trolling offending pedos), I can't see that becoming a thing without massive FBI and police infiltrations to monitor and catch pedo rings.
