Adding a Power Ranking system to Skullheart

    I support this idea.

    USA Ideas For CB2017 Exhibition(s?)

There is nearly a year before CB2017. There is no reason to make any kind of decision in the next few days. So much can change before next May.

    USA Ideas For CB2017 Exhibition(s?)

Devil's Advocacy: Showcasing the same players from last year or showing combinations of players likely in or from Top 8 is likely less interesting than a good character showcase to outsiders. Exception is if beef is involved since people want storylines over everything.

USA Organizing Skullgirls' Event Calendar 2016-2017

Here's the thing, if everything is put out via open letter and anyone/everyone can put out an open letter, how do TOs or other organizers differentiate whats popular consensus vs perceived or fabricated consensus? This already happened once just from Kai's sketch poster being viewed as part of a...

USA Organizing Skullgirls' Event Calendar 2016-2017

Food for thought: Logos, branding, prizing - these are the last things you should be focused on. Infrastructure, partnerships, coverage arrangements, control/management staff, promotional campaign vehicles and objectives - these are all things to do first. If you do this right its going to...

    USA Ideas For CB2017 Exhibition(s?)

We call those auction tournaments. They are one of my favorite things. What might be hugely entertaining is Old players being auctioned off to unfinished teams of New players in a 3v3. How much would a team pay for SonicFox? For 159? Etc. Would require a lot of front-side work but I could see...

USA Organizing Skullgirls' Event Calendar 2016-2017

Since its seeming to not be common knowledge, I co-direct CEOtaku and also handle all of its brand and market materials. If this collective puts together something concrete, even 2 weeks before the event, I can make things happen.

Having made these for CEO, from this same supplier, do know that the custom anything gets expensive very quick.

    USA Ideas For CB2017 Exhibition(s?)

I like the Old vs New and the Draft ideas listed above. I'd just like to see both in a format different than a 10v10.

    USA Ideas For CB2017 Exhibition(s?)

I would like to see something other than the 10v10. Recycling the exhibition in players, format, or size is very unappealing to me.

USA Organizing Skullgirls' Event Calendar 2016-2017

Have you considered having a "Skullheart Seal of Quality" and/or "Skullheart Approved" events instead of the tour labeling? To an extent quality assurance is what this proposed event collection is. You could still whip up a nice icon that means such, produce a collection poster for general...

    USA Skullgirls Community Tour? (Discussion)

Gonna throw a few anecdotes in here. @Liam et al - I’m not interested in a second bracket at Combo Breaker that likely includes Top 8 competitors from CB’s bracket. I feel that takes away from the tournament and would be akin to Capcom Cup taking place at one of its Premier events. Both the...

Focusing Community Turnout at SG Tourney Events

Price per game should remain the same. I want more people to play more things. Only exception will be 1 retro tournament that might be going high-stakes entry to make "why not?" reg less likely. No I won't tell you what the game is. I'm going to shop spectator sponsorship to companies. Gaming...

Focusing Community Turnout at SG Tourney Events

This is one of the cost factors thats is a struggle point. Its also one of the event features I'm determined to keep.

Focusing Community Turnout at SG Tourney Events

I'm trying to get more late night food options available in the venue. I'm not confident I can get us out of the hotel-food=up-charge lifestyle but its definitely something I'm aware of. Particularly as a staff member that basically only gets to eat at 1 AM.

Focusing Community Turnout at SG Tourney Events

Inquiry about ticketing costs and expectations (and I'll be a little more open here than elsewhere due to this community always being honest and respectful with me). CB can likely not do a 2017 event at our 2016 price-points and deliver the same quality level. We don't have to jump to $100+...

Focusing Community Turnout at SG Tourney Events

I see how it is. I mention boot camps, Pat follows up, and I lose my share of the credit. This is vengeance for not scheduling you to cover every minute worth of CB commentary isn't it?

Focusing Community Turnout at SG Tourney Events

I'm going to argue against monetary rewards for losing tournament entrants. I have philosophical issues with that as it amounts to participation awards - which I think discourage actual competition/rivalry. I wouldn't be against attempting to figure out 0-2 boot camps or something that take...

Focusing Community Turnout at SG Tourney Events

Pot bonuses are a fun reward for engaged communities and for establishing a higher level of prestige at a tournament. They also have a nice habit of producing additional spectator interest. I have yet to discover one, particularly in less active regions, that magically ensures sizable attendance...

[Sep 30, 2016] CEOtaku 2016: this is actually out of control omg (Orlando, FL)

Catching up on this thread and there is only 1 thing worth adding to it currently; Coke is indeed superior to Pepsi. #teamred
