Skullgirls Beta Aug 5th Patch Discussion

If I'm understanding mp game right, Beowulf immediately jumps after throwing down his chair. There's no additional things that need to be drawn. It would just be for example d.jmk animation, forward jump animation. I would be okay if even Beowulf was unable to block during his double jump if...

So the chair would be like a spring? Sounds neat and very powerful. I'm not in full support because I think a lot of people think Beowulf doesn't need more tools. I'd be fine with testing it out. I imagine that you wouldn't be able to change your direction if you did this. I personally still...

Skullgirls Beta Aug 5th Patch Discussion

I use all of those buttons in neutral because of the simple fact that I believed j.hp would've been a worse move in the situation. Both s.hp and cr.hp are a far better anti-air that j.hp. cr.hp has a faster start up and since you are on the ground you can cancel to something. s.hp has HUGE...

Going to disagree a lot. j.HP is a great spacing tool that requires good spacing skills to make the most out of it. j.HP does not overshadow any of the other buttons. In your example, j.hk is used to restand in combos and is barely used in neutral due to its short range, and its hitbox doesn't...

Ah now that I've tested it I see what you mean by the double crossup. However if you set the dummy to jump, you can no longer get the double crossup. Also Beowulf needs to call assist and jump forward right away after press slam. Making it a rather easy to see crossup.

I don't think I've seen j.hp crossup but land on same side before with assist. Can you post a video? So you're saying assist pushes the opponent under you after you crossed up with j.hp? Also it is very common for assist to push the opponent forward. Check out the very first post of Beowulf's...

    Beowulf Tech Thread

Even though the post is so old, I'd like to highlight that even without assist nudging Filia forward it is still possible to fake crossup using j.mk. This just requires the opponent to be standing at full height. In fact I'd like expand on this. If you could get the opponent to be standing...

I'd argue Fukua does need a mixup option to replace the old m shadow and holding shadows is the current experiment. So yes she needs it. Though I don't play peacock I'd say peacock does need a new L teleport because the current L teleport had no use according to recent memory. Sent from my...

What Dance Style would you give the SG cast?

Beowulf: s.lk left, s.lk right, s.lk left, s.lk right, cr.lk left, cr.lk right, cr.lk left, cr.lk right, chair dance Ayyeee. That's my Beowulf dance. Sent from my SM-G386W using Tapatalk

Skullgirls Beta Aug 5th Patch Discussion

So you're concerned with the fact that after beo pocketing his arm he is able to take out his arm again. So because the arm is not currently in beowulf's arms its deceptive in that he can suddenly pull it out of nowhere and punch you with it. I don't get it. Why can't beowulf pocket and...

Besides the spacing reason in the last post, if the enemy blocked it in the air it is possible that doing the safe version may not be so safe because of chicken block.

Skullgirls Beta Aug 5th Patch Discussion

You put yourself directly in front of the opponent at a slight disadvantage. Most opponents I have faced jab me after. And in certain match ups, putting space between you and your opponent is better if you're looking to be safe.

I encourage you to play around with wulf blitzer to take a look and the situations where it is safe and where it is not. The most safe it can be is -2 on block when beowulf is at the height of doing wulf blitzer from the ground. This is when beowulf ends his wulf blitzer on the second hit in...

He's not getting anything that will change matchups(at least nothing said so far seems to do that). He's getting more ways to gain and spend hype which means conversions or damage after finishers, etc. edit: or more hype from his current hype generators.

Skullgirls Beta Aug 5th Patch Discussion

Hype discussion? I'm in. I would personally like to see another method of hype generation and this sounds wonderful. I imagine the values must be something like 1/3 for regular slam and 2/3 or 1 for on chair. I'm thinking that in order to make hype become a more key gameplay thing, hype...
