USA Chicago Thread: We are actually the best

I'm back around Chicago for a while and I want to play some casuals before Combo Breaker also. Anyone know if WIT still has casuals on Saturdays? There used to be a lot of SG going on there last year. Regardless I might bring a setup to Ignite soon. Edit: and I don't just mean the tournaments...

I'd be down to play anyone as long as the connection is good, in either this WYL or a later one.

    [Jan 22-23, 2016] Frosty Faustings VIII - Northbrook, IL(Chicago)

I'm planning on coming to this... barring any day-of car issues like I ran into last year haha. I had a good time at the last FF and this one is shaping up to be even better.

Dropping in to say I won't be able to go to Godlike this weekend but Naptown Clutch is looking really possible for me.

USA Chicago Thread: We are actually the best

Sorry for not reposting a reminder here but I posted about it here when the event was first posted on Facebook.

What type of controller do you use in a tournament?

Typically as long as the controller works for whatever console the tournament is using you're good to go. Arcade sticks are a popular choice because it's the control scheme fighting games are designed around. This doesn't mean you have to use one, or you're at a disadvantage if you don't. As...

USA Chicago Thread: We are actually the best

People still go to both but I'm not sure how much SG is played at Ignite, someone else should weigh in. I know SG is definitely played at WIT though. Typically if people go it's posted about on the Facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/groups/SkullgirlsChicago/ This thread and that group...

USA Chicago Thread: We are actually the best

EXP is having another tournament with SG, extra $25 to first place. Anyone looking to go? I want to go since it'll be the last Chicago event I can go to for a while but I'm curious if people would rather focus on WIT monthlies. https://www.facebook.com/events/733105580134459/ Not sure about...

USA Chicago Thread: We are actually the best

Skullgirls has gotten a lot of attention at WIT lately so this weekend they're going to host their first SG tournament. If you're in the suburbs and think getting out to the city is a pain this is the tournament for you. Saturday July 25th at 7pm $5 venue fee, $10 to enter...

    Peacock Combo Thread

I used to have a lot of trouble with getting sHK xx item jMK jHK combo but I'm starting to land them when playing. For anyone who has trouble I think the trick is to get the distance from the end of the sHK animation. If you cancel it too early you'll be too far and landing the jMK is really...

    Skullgirls PC Beta Updates Discussion

I was going to argue that the voice packs should be disabled in tournament mode because some people use the voice cues to time combos or react to moves and it'd just be safer not to have them. But then I remembered that a lot of anime games have an option for English / Japanese voices and I...

    Anime Peacock teleport sound inconsistency

So with the default Peacock voice pack each teleport strength had one specific voice clip that played with it. With anime Peacock each strength randomly plays a different clip. @Mike_Z I know during the Salty stream yesterday you said no more requests for bug fixes but I think some people use...

    E. Dee's training log / match notes

Since my last post... I don't think I should worry about team compositions so much and just focus on getting better at the game in general. With custom team size and assists it's too easy to get overwhelmed with the amount of options. At the very least I figured out I don't want to focus on...

Post your last suggestions for Skullgirls Encore here!

Not so much of a suggestion as it is a clarification but... is this the intended name for Fukua's sMK?

    Chuck P's Training Diary

No, cHP is an easy / simple burst bait you can do with Squigly since you can easily connect it after her level 1. jMK yes, sHP only the second hit is the projectile and I'm not sure if jHK behaves the same way, but it probably does. On both of those moves there's the initial hit if you land it...

    Chuck P's Training Diary

Yeah, blue means punishable, gold means they're safe and they can block right away. Well, right, but I was confused because at 0:35 it's gold from the jMK, I should have mentioned that. So I'm guessing either jMK is a projectile or their timing was just different between takes?
