All characters do this. If a character gets hit a ton of times in rapid succession and each hit is meant to play a hurt vocalization, they'll go "AH-AH-AH-AH-AH-AH" etc. It's kind of silly, but it's also something that's difficult to hear unless you have music and SFX off.

Ideally, you should try and get all of the characters. All characters are viable/fun, it all comes down to preference in the end. Squigly is a stance character with the ability to manipulate the screen/camera. Big Band is a heavy character with big damage. Which sounds more fun to you?
