Actually, I've been very happy with the DS1 playthrough so far. I wanted Tarkus and, darn it, WE GOT TARKUS. Honestly, I have more just been wondering "Who even owns the IP rights to Primal Rage?" Oh well, at least we have Riptor still around these days (best clever girl in KI).

Exactly, I'm more interested in how it runs on my PC than the actual content. Comparing minimum required specs never really worked for me as much as just trying and running the thing.

Proto-Baozhai looks like a freewheeling pirate. Updated version seems more of a no-nonsense military captain. I'm interested in seeing how this plays in with other character interactions. Updated Phoebe has a goofy look on her face that I find very endearing.

the platinum games thread about nier and its heaps of obscure but incredibly story relevant side material reminded me of halo, which also has its own heaps of story relevant side material so i picked up a copy of "Fractures" which is a bunch of side stories. i think i'll read Staten's story...

Someone mentioned it elsewhere (twitter comments I guess?). It is speculation based on nothing concrete probably. Just another guardian would be pretty disappointing though.

there's still a PC version coming out of automata, right? I've heard conflicting reports about a release date changing multiple times.

Well, there are two other extremely important characters who've probably won't be playable until the story takes a trip right into crazy town.

By just story appearances, Dr. Paradigm should be the next playable character. He's literally the "I'll explain the plot now" character of the game.
