    Cross-up hitsparks in real matches

Squigly c.hp assist + ambiguous crossup is one way. Another is a fast overhead that's also an ambiguous crossup that you block low (you won't know whether you needed to block high-left or high-right).

    Skullgirls PC Beta Updates Discussion

    2lk -> 2mk (pretty sure I got both hits; I don't ever cancel that one early, unless I'm cancelling early into 236mk for a shitty mixup on block) -> 5hpx2 -> 623mp~hp

    Skullgirls PC Beta Updates Discussion

LMH doesn't work at a lot of ranges, which is why I don't know whether it works or not on most characters. Spent several minutes in training mode, wasn't able to reproduce the Squigly issue, stopped recording... then got it in a game, where Squigly was exactly dead on the center of the MP...

    Skullgirls PC Beta Updates Discussion

I'd have to go test more to tell you for certain (I'll fire up training mode shortly, but I've got Cruciamentum's "Engulfed in Desolation" blasting over my speakers right now and don't want to interrupt it), but I seem to recall there being a spot sort of "between" M and H for Squigly (far in...

    Skullgirls PC Beta Updates Discussion

It would be nice if it could at least be good enough that s.hpx2xx623mp~hp didn't sometimes fail on Squigly (sometimes, she'll fall in such a way that the HP won't hit her). EDIT: Wow, that wasn't clear at all. I mean, the 623mp will hit, but then Squigly will sometimes magically fall in just...

    Street Fighter V

Most of the useful ones are only after crossups or in the corner, and the most useful ones (shoto c.mp -> c.mk, M.Bison ToDs, Guile corner sonic boom -> backfist, most "command normal into some normal" links) tend to be fairly generous, 4-6 frames or more. That's a far cry from the "one-frame...

    Street Fighter V

I wouldn't mind an SF2-ish system if that meant "most useful damaging BnB combos are (possible jump in) -> normal xx special", and link combos were generally not that common and tended to to be fairly generous (3-4 frames).

    Street Fighter V

I don't play SF4, but I was under the impression that this was because move hitboxes had an actual "crossup flag" that indicated which way that had to be blocked instead of just relying on character position, not because the hitboxes themselves were fucked?

Spotlight Skullgirls with 6 Buttons or 8 Buttons?

How exactly are we supposed to know when you're thinking out loud vs. being on the verge of declaring "every tournament I'm at will ban macros on sticks, and I'm going to make PS3 sticks not have macros on the PS4 version"?

Another training diary that no one will read or care about

I went to see my doctor today, which is how it was diagnosed; I'm on antibiotics now. Unfortunately, since San Antonio plays on PS3, and I have an XBox stick (all of DFW plays on PC), I have to borrow a stick to play with those guys. Not a safe option right now. And yeah, it's a 5 hour drive...

Another training diary that no one will read or care about

FUCK, why the GODDAMN HELL did I have to get sick with strep throat a few days before a San Antonio monthly that I'd have actually been able to make it to? (Yes, unrelated to any actual Skullgirls playing or training, I know. I'm posting it here anyways.)

Eliza guide by me. (Not by Sharpie)

Best Eliza I've faced is @guitalex2007 followed by @Dawn111

Another training diary that no one will read or care about

Ugh, I wish I could actually remember to do the shit I practice in training mode in real games.

Report Skullgirls Encore to receive Japanese arcade loctest from November 28-30!

I guess if your goal is to completely kill whatever remaining tournament scene there is, standardizing "you can't use macros for your assists after you've been using them for two and a half years" would be a pretty good way of doing that. I can't imagine very many players being willing to...

    Fenster's training thread

How are you using s.HP in neutral with Eliza? Every time I see anyone just tossing it out there, they end up just getting whomped for it, either because it's so slow that an opponent can cover a quarter of the screen and still hit you before it comes out, or because it whiffs entirely.

Chronicles of the UOP King : Cross Generation of Garbage Gameplay

What are you doing in the Eliza vs. Filia matchup? My experience is that I just have to YOLO DP/Sekhmet to stop her from doing whatever IAD bullshit she wants. (Also, in "Filia approach options", you missed superjump -> airball up -> come down with j.mp).

Feedback/Suggestions needed for improving AI in Skullgirls

This is exactly what I was coming to this thread to say. The Filia AI is especially bad about it (I think she actually does tech all normal throws on Nightmare?)

    Bug: Eliza DLC doesn't unlock

That tick box is what I was referring to. Unchecking, restarting Steam, then going back, re-checking it, and restarting Steam again is what fixed it for me.

    ...Josh's struggle to not suck...

That's how she's supposed to work; you're understanding her fine. Unless you haven't realized that ground normalxxfly->some air normal leaves a gap that you can jab her out of.
