IsaVulpes is spot on. Skullgirls is balanced enough that you can do well as solo-Val. As a kinda-sorta-semi-decent solo-Val, I can confirm that solo-Val has quite a few glaring weaknesses, just as any solo character. Valentine has a great offense game, made better by her increased solo damage...
