Painwheel seems to recognize Filia so I suppose the possibility that the Medicis don't recognize Filia because of parasitic influences are null. Or maybe the Medicis aren't close enough to Filia to recognize her as much as Painwheel.

Or it might just be a breather episode like Rising Tides, Crashing Skies. We don't know for sure.
