They're kinda going for like... the characters really dependent on their Personas get the most cards, but correspondingly have the longest regen time if it gets broken. The characters who don't use theirs much like Akihiko only get like 2 cards, so they are easy to break but regen faster.

They changed him to just using one-handed swords in the PSP version, IIRC. He would be cool as a "bonus" character though if they kept it purely non-canon (or brought in the female protagonist). I have a love-hate relationship with P4A - I love the characters and most of the moves, and Yukiko...
