Yes I know, Mike explained that in Salty. Having a cool taunt makes them more fun to play as a character, so I considered it a buff.

Double, Filia, and Squigly (Akuma) got some really cool looking taunts as a buff. Maybe people will play these characters more now? #throwfiliainthetrash

Every single taunt causes a practical benefit. Even Peacock's, though hardly anyone uses it. Taunts are much more integral to BB / Beo play though, for sure.

It still takes valuable time to set those up and deal with any projectiles / punish attempts while doing so. You're assuming that the opponent isn't blocking and just gets hit every time. I see your point on comboing into summons, even if that can only happen in the corner or with certain...
